I don't get it either, he looks like a Porzingis clone and everyone was all over his jock earlier.

We were almost dead last in the NBA in shooting from 3 last year and got a 7ft big man who shoots 42% from 3. 

Yeah I like the guy I don't get the negativity from everyone on the guy. yeah he doesn't play D but how many bigs Shooting wise do?

In college, you can be a seven footer who does nothing but shoot threes.  Doesn't work in the NBA.  

He was pretty good at it in the U20 Tourney's in Europe though.

Markkanen isn't even close to as athletic as Porzingis.  

This. Porzingis is an elite shooter and rim protector. That's why he's an amazing player. Markkannen is in the league of Reddick, Morrison, Korver, and other white guys I can't think of. If he can tighten up his defense and get a lot stronger, he'll stick around as a good role player in the NBA. More likely, he's playing in Europe in 3 years.

I was hoping for him in 14 but Minny took him and then Chicago had to make the dumb McDermont trade. COuld've had Nurkic and Gary Harris.
