I'm not understanding the hate from Bulls fans. The #7, Lavine, and Dunn seems like a nice haul for Butler. It'd be nice to get rid of Wade and Rondo too, but.. baby steps.
Dunn and Levine are rotational players on a good team.  They offer minimal value.  The guy they picked at #7 is a PF... same position as the most promising player on our roster.  I hate it...

Wade is either going to get traded for some extra nets (not Nets, ) is going to get bought out, or is going to sleepwalking through 30 games and then go to IR. Mirotic is gone, Rondo is gone.

How do you trade an all-NBA player and not get Wiggins back? They didn't even get a first round pick back! They got an overrated wing player with a torn ACL, a likely mega-bust PG, and moved up 9 spots in exchange for a bona-fide superstar. Isiah Thomas is laughing at this deal.
Don't be mean to Lavine. And they got 3 first round picks.

For Butler and #16. They didn't even get a pick out of this, they got a pick SWAP and moved up 9 spots. Atrocious.

So Dwayne Wade is going to Cleveland or back to Miami?

Lavine is overrated and there is no guarantee he'll ever be the same player. See Rose, Derrick.

Kris Dunn stinks. Markaanen is one dimensional.

There's no possible way to overstate how bad this trade is for Chicago. If I'm a Wolves fan, I'm on cloud 9 right now.

Cloud 10, imo.

Someone would have.
Was there even a rumor of a better offer? Maybe you hold out hope of a better offer down the road, but I'm just not seeing it and the history of trades doesn't suggest some magic offer was coming.

And I know nobody wants to hear this, but Butler is about to 28. He, along with a somehow resurgent Wade, just led the Bulls to an 8 seed in an atrocious Eastern Conference. Butler's a nice player, but I'm really not sure what folks were expecting here.

He's 27,on a very friendly contract for the next 2 years and will be eligible for the Supermax beyond that, meaning they could have controlled him in all likelihood through his age 34 season. And they would have had oceans of cap room after this upcoming season.

Now they have nothing to build around and are starting completely from scratch.

Here's a few rumors

Bulls remain interested in re-signing Nikola Mirotic even after drafting Markkanen. Rondo's future in question.

Albert Nahmad‏ @AlbertNahmad  22m22 minutes ago

The Bulls will create a $15.3M trade exception in the Jimmy Butler deal.

In Bulls talks with Celtics regarding Butler, Celtics refused to offer No. 3 or next year's Nets pick, per source.

Butler is one year younger than Derrick Rose. Infinitely more healthy, but still, no spring chicken. And the Bulls are a .500 team with him at the helm over the last 2 years. Again, in an truly horrible Eastern Conference.  You can call that a superstar if you like. They've got to deal with LeBron and the Celtics for now and then Giannis until Butler is well into his late 30's. I'm not sure where this was going. I'm not trying to be an #######. I'm just a Hornets fan. Realizing that you are ####ed is just a part of my basketball fan life.

Maybe fans won't agree, but I could certainly see the logic in going younger, and I don't see a better offer on the horizon if that's the path.

Yeah.... sign Niko you idiots.... We need a third string PF at an above market price.

This Luca Donic kid next year is supposed to be a game changer.  A 6'7 PG like Magic...
Well, we'll have a really good shot at him. Though they'll probably trade the #2 pick for Amir Johnson since they already have Jerian Grant, Kris Dunn and Cameron Payne.

say more about Butler.  I'm almost there.  Again.

I really can't believe OG has fallen this far, his knee must be trashed. Still worth the risk for the Nuggies if he falls...

Born in 1999.  Makes me feel super old.
I follow Soccer and my clubs Goalkeeper is only 18 yeah let that rub in. When I was 18 I just got out of HS and was working and going to College. This kid is traveling the world playing soccer starting for one of the best clubs in history.

I'd like to see your point, believe me, I would. I'm just disgusted. If the trade value of an all-NBA player on a team-friendly deal is 2 role players and a 9 spot move, then just don't trade.

I am just crossing my fingers on this--Denver should offer the 24th and one of their 2nds to move up a spot if he falls anymore

Actually, this might be all Bulls fans need to know. You just traded with the T-Wolves. That pretty much always works out well. Possible exception being LeBron mortgaging the future for 18 months down the road (and even that brought home a title).

My country's best player is also 18 and plays in Germany, sink in yet?
