2018-19 Philadelphia 76ers Salary Cap Totals

The 76ers are currently over the league salary cap. This means Cap Holds & Exceptions are NOT included in their Total Cap Allocations, and renouncing these figures will not afford them any cap space. The team may only sign outside players using any available exceptions or at league minimum salaries.

Why would you guys want Korver @modogg. He looked really bad most of the post season.
word was he loved his time with Philly and wants to finish his career there. who knows how true, but thoughts are he would rework his contract or take whateer is given to join the team if Lebron comes here for another chance at a championship and finish in Philly

Covington and Bayless need to find homes, maybe packaged with 1s.
Covington was 1st team All-Defensive, so i don't know why you would want to move him and def. don't need an incentive for a team to take him. guy is streaky as a 3 point shooter, but he can guard 1-4 and can guard the opposing team's #1 many nights

i don't think that there would really be any way to do that.  it is very limited in the nba,  His contract was only 3 years, not to mention the other complications.

59. Can existing contracts be renegotiated?

A contract for four or more seasons can be renegotiated after the third anniversary of its signing, extension, or previous renegotiation (if the previous negotiation increased any season's salary by more than 5%). Contracts for fewer than four seasons cannot be renegotiated. A contract cannot be renegotiated between March 1 and June 30 of any year.

Only teams under the cap can renegotiate a contract, and the salary in the then-current season can be increased only to the extent that the team has room under the cap (and cannot increase the player's salary beyond the maximum salary). A renegotiation can only be used to provide a salary increase -- players can't take a "pay cut" in order to create more cap room for the team.

If the player agrees to waive a portion of his trade bonus in order to facilitate a trade (see question number 100), his contract may not be renegotiated for six months following the trade.

Every category of compensation (base salary, likely bonuses, and unlikely bonuses) that are increased in the renegotiated season must also increase in all subsequent seasons of the contract. Raises are based on the salary that is added to the first renegotiated season -- 8% of the amount that is added to the first renegotiated season becomes the maximum additional (renegotiated) salary in each subsequent season.

A renegotiated contract can be extended simultaneously (see question number 58). If a player's contract is extended and renegotiated simultaneously in this manner, his salary may not decrease by more than 40% from the last season before the extension (after it is renegotiated) to the first season of the extension. For example, if the salary in the last season of a contract is renegotiated to $10 million and the contract is simultaneously extended, the salary in the first season of the extension cannot be less than $6 million.

Other rules for renegotiations:

A signing bonus cannot accompany a renegotiation unless the contract is extended simultaneously (see question number 58).

A renegotiation cannot lead to any season having an unlikely bonus greater than 15% of the player's regular salary for that season.

A rookie scale contract (see question number 47) cannot be renegotiated.

A contract cannot be renegotiated in conjunction with a trade.

Two-Way contracts (see question number 82) cannot be renegotiated.

of course they wouldn't want to move him, but if they want to make a big trade they are going to need to move something and make salaries match.

Covington is an asset and would bring back value if traded, there is no need to add to him. Bayless I don't think you would have to add a 1st to get rid of him. He will be an expiring deal. Probably throw a couple of 2nds.

Warriors are the only NBA franchise with more than one finals sweep.  That's surprising

The part about how Korver liked it there so maybe he would take a deal made me laugh. Oh ok.
where else is Korver going to go? i know this is Cle we are talking about, but it would be such a terrible decision for them to keep all of these old veterans on their team next year. they need to blow it up, dump the age and start a build with this year's #8 and whatever else they can salvage.

How do you define "acceptable"?
maybe he just uses it more. i mean the kid has played 1 year in the NBA, and i am happy with him. Not ready to say he is the next Lebron, but excited to see where his career goes and i think his potential is very high. But with any of the NBA guys under the age of 23, they all have a ton of potential.

but as for the jump shot, he was using it more as the year went on. he was shooting from the 8-10 foot range the last bit of the season and at points in the playoffs. but you could see he didn't have a ton of confidence in it. but there is no reason to think he can't keep working on it and the Sixers are bringing in the right guys to work with shooting with him and Fultz.

and i don't even believe he needs a confident jump shot yet in his career. if Lebron comes to Philly, one of the most enjoyable things to watch throughout the season will be how Simmons develops his game playing next to Lebron.

OK.  I just have my doubts that Simmons will ever be anything other than a below average shooter.  Maybe he becomes a shooter similar to someone like Rondo.  Anyway, it's a big concern.  It's really going to limit his effectiveness as he starts to age and/or racks up various injuries.

well, we know Lebron reads Footballguys

"People who don't know the game. They just think they go out and say 'Oh LeBron you're bigger stronger faster than everybody you should drive every single time and dunk every single play and you should never get tired' Like it's a video game and turn injuries/fatigue all the way down to zero"

The second half of that video is why he won't go to the 76ers.  He doesn't want to play with young players who are still figuring it out.  Jordan was the same way.

Young Stars that won 52 games and a playoff series without him. He goes there and he's in the finals. Then it's a matter of how much does Ben and Joel improve to take down the Warriors.

I personally like how he's waving that right hand around close to the desk.  He looks very concerned about it there.

Everything LeBron says in that clip screams Spurs to me.

This whole shtick of LeBron didn't want to make an excuse about losing the finals until releasing the info the day after they lose is hilarious.  It's not like it happened 8 years ago and then he brings it up.  It is brought up specifically as an excuse as to why they lost and presented as this humble story that happened so long ago.  If anything you would bring it up before they get swept like any other injury.  Unless he was embarrassed by being so stupid to bust his hand on a wall.

So really we have 1) LeBron showing how he didn't want to bring up something embarrassing at the time (if it happened at all) and 2) then using it as an excuse by saying they didn't bring it up at the time so it wouldn't be an excuse.

This is why this guy is so unlikable.  He is the A Rod of basketball.  He has no maturity and lacks common sense when it comes to communication (taking my talents to South Beach) and everything is done through the selfish prism of how it impacts him.

@LeBron, you did a great job taking a no talent team to the finals.  You got crushed by a better team.  There is no shame in that.

All of the above is null if he goes to the Lakers, then I will light all of your haters up.

What's the opposite of momba mentality? Whatever it is Durant has it. I'm going to go with jelly fish mentality.

“I feel like it’s easy to be the best player when you don’t have good players around you. I feel like it’s harder to stand out when you have great players around you,”

:hot: that is a hot take right there.
