2017 College Football Thread: Hawaiian QB devastated to find out Jesus was "kinda rooting for Georgia" (3 Viewers)

Notre Dame opens as a 6.5 point favorite against Georgia. Bet the house on Georgia.

Seriously, Michel and Chubb go for over 300 yards against the run defense. ND won't be able to keep up, and no way in hell, even if they do win, will it be by a TD or more. No way.
I'm not saying Fromm isn't good or even that he might not be better than Eason, but going on the road to ND for his first start is a big task.  Also, seriously Chubb is not that impressive anymore. His injury sapped his explosiveness and he's a true plodder now.

Without Francois I favor Clemson and Louisville 50/50.  Florida have to see how things are going that game is three months away.  FSU defense is still elite but offense took a huge hit
I hate to sound like a guy crushing a hurt QB, but he missed multiple open guys on Saturday. He's good, almost definitely better than the backup, but he's not Winston back there.

I think FSU will be -4 over Louisville, +3 against Clemson and -3 against UF.

Because the difference between a good and bad season at FSU is making the playoffs. Which means style points count. Teams don't usually make a lot of style points when they are breaking in a new QB. Even if they end up winning the ACC, there are several other teams out there who are going to have a better chance to pass the eye test this season.
If the Noles go 12-1, win the ACC and the only loss is to Bama they are clearly in the playoff. I highly doubt that happens though.

Fsu is still +110 to win ACC, Clemson is +320. FSU was something like -140 last week.

9th best odds to win the title.

Fwiw

ND also has a history of making a QB's first start look like Heisman contention (Kessler, Tate freaking Forcier, etc.).

The middle of ND's front seven is one recruited kid and a bag of balls. The other middle linebacker is a converted safety with an injury history, and behind them is what the coaches call the weakest link on the team in the safety position. Georgia would do well to run up the middle all day long.

There is no way usc should be a 7 point favorite against Stanford. Stanfords o line is going to dominate and should be a fg game as usc will not be able to get them off ththe field. Watching Stanford have 9 minute drives is like watching paint dry but is effective and will keep the usc offense off the field.

Not if Bama, OU, PSU and USC go undefeated. I highly doubt that happens though.

I don't disagree with Meyer, especially after reading the article. Meyer was in a tough spot, one of his former coaches taking a shot at another former coach.

Hopefully Herman can learn from this and get HIS players he currently has and coach them up.

Prop bet offer:

Who'll give me some odds on an Eason transfer to WSU?

I fully expect it.
Sorry for stating the obvious but it seems like it would be very dependent on how Fromm does - if he plays well he may keep the job and I then I could definitely see it.  If he struggles and Eason comes back and plays well I would expect him to stay.

That video of him slamming the chick down on her head isn't going to go over so well in Georgia. That crap is probably ok in Ttown.
That was pretty tough to watch - big dude throwing her down hard on the concrete - couldn't tell if he head hit in the video but that seriously could have killed her.  Guy should go away for a while.

Wow, I hadn't seen the 9 second video before.  Somebody should have taken care of that guy right then and there.  Hope he gets thrown under the jail.

Capella, any friends in this vid?

editf lovvvve Billy bad ### throwing the beer and pumping his chest 30 second in.
Looked to me like the chick in back threw the beer, then shrank back with a "did anybody see me do that?" face.

Reminded me of when you tell a kid not to do something and you can actually see their neurons get all Matrix-ey and slow down as they attempt to process the potential ramifications before everything goes to realtime again and they do it anyway.

Fsu cancelled their warmup game Saturday.

As somebody on twitter noted, that's the first Hurricane victory over FSU in 8 years.

I disagree. 2:30 has Penn St/Pitt, TCU/Arkansas, and ORE/NE. And then Wazzu/Boise is the late game.

Great day for football.
I hope you're right and I'm sure there will be 1/2 games that end up shocking us all, but I feel like PSU and Oregon will win big today.

Saquon Barkley is going to win the Heisman this year. Jon Taylor will probably win it next year. And both were former Rutgers commits  :wall:
