2017 College Football Thread: Hawaiian QB devastated to find out Jesus was "kinda rooting for Georgia" (1 Viewer)

Why is it called the Egg Bowl? Mississippi isn't the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of farm fresh eggs.
When the decided to have a trophy back in the 20’s they wanted it to be a gold plated football...local news paper jokingly said it looked like an egg.

I can see how it confuses people outside of Mississippi, but I like it.

This is why we need to stop assuming teams are good because they beat Notre Dame.
I said to my kids that Pitt did a good job of looking at the ND game for what not to do. No runs wide against a quicker defense, No slow developing options. A bunch of quick hitters up the middle or off tackle. Mix in some passes on first down.

That Miami loss helps us out buddy.  Not that we need it
I'm not getting too wrapped up yet because so much can happen in the next two weeks...but this helped, and if we lose tomorrow, but OU loses to TCU we'll still be in really good shape IMO.

I think we can lose tomorrow and still have a great argument to get in

I thought the war on I-4 was Orlando Predators vs Tampa Bay Storm.
I live in Orlando, and used to love those matchups. Was disappointed when the UCF/USF game stole this moniker. But as a UCF fan as well, i can't complain too much as it makes the game sound bigger than it normally is to a national audience. ( It could always be worse, i guess. Egg bowl?  :loco: )

UB pulled it out against Ohio today, 31-24, despite blowing a 17-point lead.  Star WR Anthony Johnson tallies 6-155-2 and officially says he will forego the NFL draft and play his senior season.

Bulls finished 6-6 despite most projections having them in the 3-4 wins range.  The 6 losses are 2 1-point losses, a 7 OT loss against WMU, a blown 10-point 4th quarter lead against 8-3 Army, a 10-point loss at Minnesota despite being within 1 score with 3 minutes left, and a crushing defeat with a true freshman 3rd string QB against Miami (OH).

A lot of ups-and-downs this season but they've shown a lot of heart.  Time to see if they get a bowl bid.  I suspect they'll be on the outside looking in, but it's only the third time in 19 D-1A seasons that they've been bowl eligible so it's hard not to see it as a success either way.
