This can't be real....I'll believe it when I see it

UB pulled it out against Ohio today, 31-24, despite blowing a 17-point lead.  Star WR Anthony Johnson tallies 6-155-2 and officially says he will forego the NFL draft and play his senior season.

Bulls finished 6-6 despite most projections having them in the 3-4 wins range.  The 6 losses are 2 1-point losses, a 7 OT loss against WMU, a blown 10-point 4th quarter lead against 8-3 Army, a 10-point loss at Minnesota despite being within 1 score with 3 minutes left, and a crushing defeat with a true freshman 3rd string QB against Miami (OH).

A lot of ups-and-downs this season but they've shown a lot of heart.  Time to see if they get a bowl bid.  I suspect they'll be on the outside looking in, but it's only the third time in 19 D-1A seasons that they've been bowl eligible so it's hard not to see it as a success either way.
  at the bolded.
FWIW, CBS just ranked him as the #12 NFL prospect in the 2019 class, and 2nd best WR.

Can’t wait for State to give him a proper ### whooping on October 20 in East Lansing  :banned:

So there’s a very odd story brewing with Josh Belk. Belk signed with Clemson a few months back, now he’s been granted a full release from Clemson, which was made public by his attorney.

First story was that his mom is sick and wanted to head to SCar to be closer.

Now we’re a couple of days later and I’m hearing Tennessee and that his mom isn’t sick. With that, apparently he got a lawyer and fabricated the sick mom story to force Dabo’s hand into a full release.  This last part is message board fodder, but obviously the stated sickness explanation doesn’t fly if he’s going 3 hours further than where he already was.

Of course he and every other college athlete shouldn't have to get a release to transfer without penalty.

Hunter Johnson leaving Clemson. He was a 5 star guy just a year ago but Trevor Lawrence has beat him out it appears.

Hunter looked good in limited action last year - someone will be getting a really talented player.

Won't be shocked if Lawrence plays ahead of Kelly Bryant.  He looked good in the spring game and Bryant is an average passer at best.

I’ll be a little irked if Lawrence isn’t the starter. No offense to KB, but he played at 100% of his level last year and it’s just not enough. He completely maxed out his talent, so kudos for that, but it won’t beat those top teams.

I was worried about this last year when Lawrence chose Clemson.  I liked Hunter more than Bryant and the other backup (who has since transferred too) and thought he played well when given the chance.  He's going to be good with some team.  Maybe Purdue or elsewhere in the mid-west.

My mom and her husband took their boat by the golf course a couple of weeks back when they held the coaches conference just to catch things for a bit. They’re retired so just thought it would be neat - Dabo walked by the shore and said hey. My mom was in her Clemson shirt and my stepdad in his GT since he’s an alum. Step dad said “we’re a house divided” to which Dabo looked at my mom and said “you should throw him in the lake!”

Dabo is the best.

Some random pics she sent me...

Judging by the date I started this one, it appears the 2018 thread is in order. Make your time.
You can start it off with the "controversy" around Michigan, OSU and Texas all converging on FAU's camp this summer.  I'm sure this is going to go over well after the "Harbaugh Rule" was initiated last year.

And it's official. Belk is transferring to Carolina. Muschamp is putting together a great defense but as always it will be the offense that makes or breaks him.

Barring any additional evidence being uncovered, I imagine Urban manages to survive the latest McMurphy report. The question is how many coaches could pull that off?

Did see on Twitter that the OSU o/u win total has been pulled...

Super proud of my nephew who will meet with his high school coach at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning to sign his commitment to South Dakota. He's going to redshirt next fall. The school has committed 5 years full scholarship.
Some more proud uncle news.  My nephew had a good summer and learned he will not red-shirt as planned.  He's travelling to Manhattan, Kansas today and will be suited up for the K-State game tomorrow night. Change of plans for my Saturday night - will be glued to the television for this game (if I can find it).

* edit: Actually, still might red-shirt.  Not sure, but they gave him a number and he's travelling with the team, so its possible he'll be active this season.
