---QUICK REMINDER, CHECK YOUR WAIVER WIRES FOR DEFENSES---
Obviously, since this is a streaming defenses thread, many of us are well aware to check each week....having to depend on what we can dredge up.
I happened to notice some very good choices in a couple of leagues, and other owners are not as keen on a few that are left, leaving me some solid choices. So even though you may think "my league is on top of things, even streaming defenses", have a look. You may be surprised even heading into the playoffs whats there. This just seems like a year where a few strong choices at defense are still sitting their available on the wire....people just haven't nabbed them this year like they have in past seasons it seems.
Interesting scenario for me in one particular league. I have BALTIMORE. Which after they lost their strong CB Jimmy Smith, I am not quite as high on.
ALSO, the team they are facing is PITTSBURGH who we all know can light it up. Not only that, I am trotting out BIG BEN and ANTONIO BROWN on this same playoff team. So let it be known that I am rolling out Ben and AB, and also possibly starting the Baltimore defense. Its the argument many here talk about every year. "Do I start defense X against multiple key offensive pieces in this crucial matchup?".
In the event of an "elite defense" , I often fire them up anyway.
But this is a matchup where I am projected to be a fair sized underdog. I'm thinking about possibly rolling out one of these other options.
(NY JETS) @ Denver - Man has Denver been bad. Seriously. This one scares me though, a real gamble.
(KC) @ home vs. OAK. - Another "bad" one. The whole team looks to be in a downward spiral. But, here we have all the makings of a possible good showing. Arrowhead is a legitimate concern to opposing teams, and it seems like it always will be...... West Coast team playing early, possible loss of Amari Cooper. (He cleared the protocol, but the ankle issue may limit him, or possibly keep him out altogether.)
(TB) @ home vs. Detroit - If Stafford does not play, this looks like a great scenario. But its sounding more and more like he will, since the Lions desperately need to win a few games.
(PIT) @ home vs. Baltimore - Couldn't believe PIT was on the wire.
(Denver) @ home vs. NYJ - Another one I couldn't believe was on the wire. I know they aren't the Broncs from the last year or two, but this is still a good matchup.
I have a couple ideas about what I might do, but I just wanted to point out, I was surprised that a number of options were there, that I thought wouldn't be there.
Even DETROIT is on that wire (facing TB), but I like them much more NEXT WEEK.
Check your waiver wires boys. In 2 leagues I am in, I have found that a number of choices were there this year, that I wasn't quite expecting.
