2017 US OPEN - Erin Hills (1 Viewer)

With the wind up and the greens drier and faster, today should be a big change from the early rounds. Given the crowded leader board, this should be a great final round for a worthy winner. We won't see anything near a 63 today.

Not sure the guy has it to be a superstar.  Was saying to my BIL yesterday he has all the markings of a Leonard.
I wonder if he'll ever win another major after the Masters choke. You know that's the first thing people think of with him and it's going to haunt him until he breaks the curse.

It's been a steady wind all day so far. I know it's the low end of the cut but has anyone broke par yet for the front 9? The fairways are wider than wide. Not sure if that translates on tv or not but these pros should not be missing the fairway at all. The wind will play a factor today but players should still be on the fairway after the drive. Haven't seen much need for a short game. Most shots into the green are coming from 150+. The length of Erin Hills will show up today with many holes into the wind.

Spieth birdied one and two and was two under for the front nine. He finished with a 69.

That is a Minnesota 10.
Hey now.

I will say this - women in Minneapolis and the nicer surrounding suburbs take their fitness seriously. It's like the first or second fittest city in the US.

Now greater, rural Minnesota?  They are hot till their mid-20s then they all get fat.

Koepka's a solidly put together young man.

And I hate this course.  Enough with the Wisconsin experience.  Back to civilization next year thank goodness.

At least it should be an exciting finish.

What the hell did I just hear on the 12th tee after JThomas's tee shot?  I thought I heard some yeahoo say something like "calm down ya little #####."

Then they had to blank out everything after Harman hit his tee shot.

I don't think I can remember a major with just one big name even close to contending.  WTF?  Hell, I'd take a ####### Jim Furyk sighting right about now.

Us open ice fishing should be the extent of national championships contested in Wisconsin

Uh, I like to be somewhat familiar with some of the guys who have a chance to win a major.  What's the mystery?
Some great golf being played. Good competition. Could be an 18 hole playoff tomorrow. Seems exciting.

Ricky Fowler is still in it, there's your big name.

This course blows that BS they did at pinehurst a few years ago where they let it be a bunch of weeds.

I think the US Open is going to courses to try to be more like the British Open recently.

I miss the days of 25 yard fairways and if you miss you're hacking out and probably making bogey.

And I miss NBC too.

matsyuama is ranked 4th in the world. Fowler top 10, Koepka is top 20ish. Thomas is near the top 10.

Koepka playing fantastic. He's a very talented player that can hit it a ton. Might be the first of a few majors.
