2017 White Sox: BEEF! (1 Viewer)

Been saying it for years coop is over rated but they will do nothing about it because the whole team has reached comical levels. The only thing saving this group of knuckleheads their jobs is the north side team is killing it,

Quintana has the best ERA in the AL and a 5-5 record to show for it.

They've scored a grand total of 3 runs in his last 4 starts

What happened:

1. They played out of their minds and caught teams in the April morose when the transition from spring training to the regular season can be challenging.

2. Scouts from other teams started to notice the trends allowing their teams on the field to make the adjustments (thus the April to May W:L differential).

3. 5 weeks into the season - the charm and luster of the Ventura managerial style has worn out its welcome with the players.

4. Inconsistent overall team play - one day the starting pitching is solid and then the bullpen collapses. One day the starting pitching is solid and they cannot hit. When they hit they get lackluster starting pitching. Not keeping count but it seems as if the number of 1 run losses is contributing.

5. The bullpen. Still the same issue that they have had for years. Where is the Cooper magic? Its all an illusion. Middle relief is just pedestrian.

6. Abreu morphed into another LaRouche and another Dunn. Leaving so many runners on base and now being moved around in the lineup.

7. Situational hitting - all but a rumor after April (see above number 6).

8. The level of competition in May has demoralized this team. Losses to the Indians, KC, Texas, Houston, NY Yankees, NY Mets (yeah I know - still some games left with the Mets) and Red Sox have shown the Sox players where they stack up to a number of 2015 playoff teams and 2016 potentials.

9. I think the combo of the Texas, KC and Indian losses have crushed the team confidence. Throw in the bumblings of Robin and Coop and you see the results.

10. Number of series losses in a row is mind -numbing. I think they last won a series vs. the lowly Twins (who might pass them up in the standings by the end of June) way back in early May.

11. The schedule (future state) - is going to kill them. The June swoon is here. I cannot see them getting it back on track w a slew of games vs. some decent teams and front runners. They have a lot of division games and inter-league action with the Mets and the Nationals. I think there is a 4 gamer coming up at Boston.

12. The Cubs - they are killing it and they continue to take away the majority of attention from the Sox and many other teams. Has to be demoralizing.

If this team invests $ and / or prospects on Big Game James, I'm done.
Looks official. I agree w you 100%. They are going to take on more money from a stiff. The reason why? The great Coop can work his magic again. They are constantly going in reverse.

And this game is prototypical White Sox

Get runners in scoring position with < 2 outs, fail to bring them home, watch pitchers press and fail miserably as they're trying to pick up the slack.

Ohh man - big game James with the full frontal Coop effect is scheduled for prime time Southside. I might be joining you Limp. I have had my share of the clown car.

Do the right thing, take a flyer on this guy

Alex Guerrero - 3B -  Dodgers

Dodgers released INF/OF Alex Guerrero.
No huge surprise here. The Dodgers placed Guerrero on waivers at the end of May and he passed through unclaimed. He signed a $28 million deal coming over from Cuba in 2013, but holds an uninspiring .224/.251/.414 triple-slash in 219 major league at-bats. Prior to Wednesday's release, the 29-year-old had not seen a plate appearance with the Dodgers this season.

“To have a starter like Shields perform as poorly as he did is an embarrassment to the team, an embarrassment to him,” Reinsdorf said.

This pitching staff has completely lost it. Offense might just get no hit tonight. They are going under .500 quickly. When do the Bears report?

PM- I'm sure you're a laid back Bears fans as well.
Actually - thought I have been quite tame compared to recent years. I guess if the team sucks its just better to not say anything at all.

Ohh and when it comes to the Bears - when they suck I can care less because football is essentially about fantasy for me and I do my best to avoid drafting Bears unless it is a bye week fill in

Tired arms and aging bats it is what us sox fans endure year after year, it's sad when only one position player came through your farm system, our scouts are the most inept useless pieces of c&@$!

The White Sox are the pure mathematical definition of average today:

Wins: 30

Losses:30

Home Record: 14-14/Road Record: 16-16

Runs Scored: 241/Runs Allowed: 241/Run Differential: 0

No way you could pull that symmetry off on purpose.

Big game staying consistent thru the 2nd - 3 more runs, a walk, wild pitch, SB and 3 more hits. Way to eat up innings big game! Bring back Danks?????
