I'm convinced you don't watch basketball and only listen to talk radio.
I watch basketball I try to watch every Bulls game possible I can too but thats hard living in Philly. I barely watched the NBA playoffs besides a few games and the Boston/Philly series was probably the only series I watched every game. I laugh at the inconsistency of the rules on the court applied constantly. The NBA is nothing more then a version of the WWE these days with all the drama and acting by the players coaches and GMs.

Woj says the Pelicans will take DeMarcus Cousins back on a short term deal but they have to be careful to not use their leverage to crush Boogie in negotiations.

Members of OKC’s front office will be at this party, per sources.

Royce Young✔@royceyoung

Russell Westbrook left a family vacation in Hawaii this morning to fly eight hours to Oklahoma City today to host this party, by the way.

will be weird if George signs with Lakers after all of this

Paul George staying in OKC, despite them trading for him with only a year left on his deal and the very real threat of him moving to LA after only a short rental, must go some way to assuaging the cold-footed "what if Kawhi walks after one year?" crowd.

Man I don’t want to see Lebron waste away in Cleveland. But LA isn’t any better. What is he doing?
if George signs in OKC like it seems, i honestly really have to question Lebron. I don't if he is just dumb, or if there is some other deal that no one else is aware of.

Makes no sense if George doesn’t go there. He can’t be guaranteed Kawhi will. That team with Lebron only gets crushed in round 2 to the rockets or warriors.

and i like Demarcus, but if they are relying on a 300+ pound guy returning from a torn achilles i would have to question their strategy

Makes sense to me. You'd think he'd mature a little playing with LeBron.
Made more sense in Cleveland where it was Lebron plus a roster full of other mature professionals. Different environment in LA unless all the kids get shipped out for Kawhi and whatever else. Plus who knows what Cousins looks like after that injury.

a torn achilles is a bit different, no?
Back injuries can be career ending depending how severe they are and knee injuries too depending on what is torn and all. Point is you can't say relying on Cousins is too risky when the Sixers took a guy had the Sixers not picked top 2 may have passed on. Plus I don't see Embiid anymore different in maturity then Cousins was at his age either.

Sources: Thunder GM Sam Presti wanted to hold the Thunder's meeting with Paul George in OKC -- with a party that's one more element to the franchise's year-long recruiting effort on George. OKC officials, George and his agent are meeting tonight.

rumors increasing of Kawhi to Philly. but since the media has hyped Lebon to LA so much all they want to talk about is potential pick and roll with Boogie  :lmao:

The only way through Barton deal get done that quickly is if they pay him more than the mid-level.  Guessing it will be for more than they offered him during the season too (4/42), so it'll probably be for something like 4/48. They can't help but bury themselves with bad contracts on their own players.
4/50 apparently. You nailed it.

"The narrative of going to the Lakers for LeBron is: I'm going to the franchise that has this incredible history, this incredible legacy. I'm going to a franchise where I will be stepping into the footsteps of Kobe, Shaq, Magic, Kareem, Wilt and Jerry West" @HowardBeck

this is so dumb iit is beyond words

Disagree.  It makes total sense to me.  Everything about going to the Lakers makes sense to me for him.  Even if he's not in title contention next year, it still makes sense.

EVEN IF HE'S NOT IN TITLE CONTENTION NEXT YEAR THE LAKERS MAKE SENSE TO ME FOR LEBRON.
I don’t get it. Why? He’s already maybe the biggest sports icon in the world at the moment. What does playing for the Lakers do for him? He’s the one doing them the favor.

how the hell are the nuggets going to stay out of the tax?  who is going to take these contracts?

trade chandler into Sixers' cap space?  Please?

LeBron will sign w/the Lakers, Cavs, 76ers, Rockets, Knicks, Spurs, Jazz, Nets, Hawks, Pacers, Blazers, Clippers, Celtics, Hornets, Wolves, Warriors, Wizards, Heat, Bulls, Raptors, Mavs, Thunder, Kings, Pelicans, Suns, Pistons, Magic, Bucks, Grizzlies or Nuggets, sources tell 538

To me, it's all about legacy and future.  It's really hard to form a team that can beat Golden State right now.  Instead he can go to one of the all-time most famous franchises in sports history and become the next legend in a long line of legends.  He can learn from one of the most successful people ever who has transitioned from athlete to businessman.  He can live in LA full time and make his family happy.  It just seems like a great move to me.  Plus, he removes a lot of pressure by going to a situation where he's not expected to win a championship.  I dunno.  I'm dumb.

You are dumb but you have some good points. I just don’t see it though, but staying in cleveland is probably far worse. That’s just depressing to me.

Feels like Boston or Philly are far better winning situations. Don’t understand why he isn’t focused on those.

Edit: and I don’t see how he becomes a Laker legend by going there and losing a bunch of west finals.

Jesus. Reports are that they are discussing a deal over $50 million. This is how you sink a franchise that looked headed for good things.

wow, you drunk bud?i don't see how this helps his legacy when he joins a .500 team and misses the conference finals now. maybe there is some grand plan for next year, but who knows what it is

By going full Kings on their draft picks. Who needs cheap players in the future with growth potential when you can pay Barton and Plumlee nearly $40 million a year.

I am drunk, but I've felt this way about Lebron to LA from the beginning.

Denver's updated cap sheet with Barton in at 4/50 (!) and Jokic in at the five-year max. Nuggets are now $21.2M into the tax with a whopping $49.4M tax bill, for a $194.26M total team spend. There will be trades, I'm assuming.

Definitely the leader in the clubhouse for the worst contract of the offseason. I have a hard time even envisioning a worse contract this year. And this is happening as they are now looking into the possibility of paying a first round pick to dump the worst signing of last offseason. Impressive.

Exactly, what is he doing. :loco:

Panic move being a step behind the super teams and making a lateral move at best.
