Giddy Laker fans with money are less than 4 hours from Vegas. 

What are the odds? I see 6 - 1. They would have to be around 15 to 1 for me to take a chance and it should be 12 - 1. 

Hell i would give 10 - 1, but we have all seen that dance play out before. Let's just say Vegas knows people will get on the Lakers and LeBron even at a bad price. 

Let's say they hit the over just barely on wins. That is going to put them from 4th to probably 6th in the West yet they have the 3rd beat odds.

Smart and I'm not even a Boston fan. Way better defense, younger and he's a competitor. Bradley is a nice player to have but theres so many things I view more important that Smart does that Bradley doesn't do. Plus I love the fact he can play PG/SG if necessary

I guess it depends on the make up of a team. Bradley has been first team all defense, can average 15 PPG, and is a decent shooter. He’s had season with 4 or 5 win shares. 

Smart has had big moments in big games, but that serves to cover his poor shooting and limited offensive skill set. He earned 1.9 win shares last year. 

Smart has more versatility both offensively and defensively. Whether his offense (for now) negates that is debatable.

If Roberson is not back to normal they could very well be in trouble, but hopefully he is good to go. It's really sad that someone who is so bad at half of the game is so important to the Thunder.

n 10/28 26041 OKC regular season wins over 48 -135      

12:00PM 26042 OKC regular season wins under 48  -105  

funny because Lakers are set at 50.5

Solid analysis. It's been almost impossible to get good value betting on the Cavaliers the past few years. The books know that the public will load up on LeBron regardless of what they set the line at.

Cleveland was the worst team against the spread last year at 40-63-1 (38%).

 
Can we put the Lakers win total in perspective? It took a 16 game winning streak to end the year for a young and up coming 76ers team to break 50 wins in a weaker Eastern conference. Even if we put the Lakers on par with last year's 76ers, do you really expect the Lakers to have a prolonged win streak at any point in the year in loaded western conference?

:shock:     i'll give you the underlined above if 6ers can only have Embiid and SImmons. Give them more than those 2 and they eclipse the Lakers with ease . Yes, Lebron is a top 3 player of all time, likely. But taking 3 of the top scorers last year in Lopez, Randall and Nance, and replacing them with McVee and Stephenson does not equal more wins. 

and only reason Sixers had that streak is because the front of the schedule was brutal. so yes the back end of the schedule was easier, but they play the same teams that the rest of the division does (i think)

According to a league source, the #Sixers have had discussions about trading Jerryd Bayless to the #Cleveland #Cavs for Kyle Korver.

No thanks. They should keep Bayless until the trade deadline. He will be a great salary match/expiring deal.

maybe. i wonder if Korver would hold the same trade value at the deadline. I have no idea who they would target though. Love the rumors about how KAT hasn't signed his deal yet the Sixers could look to go after him. No way Minny would move away from KAT, but the thought is fun

No way do you want KAT and Embiid together. This isn't the 80's, no matter how much D. Jax wants it to be.

I think it could work. Have you seen the youtube clips of Simmons and KAT playing Fortnight? they have a natural chemistry, could make anything work

 
Lakers will make the playoffs. Last year Walton had the team as the 12th rank def based on Drating based largely on team effort. They lost players but none of them were ALL-NBA defenders. 

Give the young guys another year of experience, add in Lance, and a sprinkle of LBJ and this should be a scrappy defensive team. Hell if Rondo actually plays disciplined D...watch out.

Again, I've said it before the biggest thing to beating the Warriors is to not have any weak links on defense and the Lakers have a Top 8 of lengthy, athletic players that could give the Warriors fits. 

People have been talking about the lack of shooting, but in the playoffs it'll be LBJ, Ingram, and Kuz picking on Curry every possession. Those 3+Hart are good enough 3 point shooters, that they have enough space even with Rondo, Lonzo, or Lance out there.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Lakers finish 4th. The only worry is that LBJ is distracted by all his offcourt stuff.

LeBron can play defense, but will he? Rondo hasn't played defense in like 6+ years, not even once. This team will not give a healthy Golden State fits. It might be a minor speed bump. You know that bump you slow down for just out of curtiosy, but really you could speed up and jump it if you wanted.

honestly, i'll be happy with a GM.I like the Sixers shooting for the stars with Morey, so glad they are setting the expectations high. and it is funny how that wasn't mentioned more. For me, i just wonder who leaked that to the press. Sixers maybe to encourage the fanbase they are trying,

I'm very onboard with this. Whatever Korver gives you is a bonus at that point.

Really? The Morey thing was weird. If true, it reeks of "Hey we're trying" by the owner. Why would Morey leave a situation he crafted for the last 10 years when it finally almost won him a title?

3 > 2. Korver survived well enough with the Cavs D, one would think with All-Defensive 1st teamer Covington, Embiid, and Fultz or Simmons, the line-up could survive for 4-5 minutes and get some points on the board

Reading up on the signing, it was pointed out the Celtics had offered Smart 4/50 last year which I had forgot. That was the starting point for any revived contract talks.

I think this year LBJ could have the energy to play better D since he won't have to carry the play making duties. I'd rather have Rondo, Ball, Hart, Ingram, Kuz, and Lance over Hill, JR, KLove, TT, Hood, Korver, and Jeff Green.

Can't believe I'm hyping up the Lakers. UGH.

Which IMO is one of the reasons they were sitting tight with him while he was doing his restricted FA thing...they read the landscape right this offseason and guessed correctly that that offer was gonna be very competitive with whatever he was going to get on the open-market...as stated earlier the C's caught a break in that this was not a great off-season to be a FA if you were not one of the big fish...

Brooklyn is flipping Darrell Arthur to Phoenix for Jared Dudley and a 2021 2nd. They’ve now turned one year of Jeremy Lin into a ‘19 1st, ‘20 2nd, and ‘21 2nd.  :thumbup:

And for what it is worth, I think Dudley and Faried are still rotation level players.

I don't suspect they'll be objectively good this season, but they have a full roster of NBA talent for the first time in 5 years. I could see them approaching playoff contention in the depleted east.

Could never find time on the floor. Amir Johnson always got the time. So my guess is Coach Brown couldn't trust him to do what was needed during crunch time. Ultimately he doesn't matter in this league. He might make a living but he won't make a difference.

 
I have no clue why the Rockets would even want Carmelo Anthony. I watched (and bet on) a considerable amount of Thunder games last year.

I groaned everytime the guy touched the ball. He has an uncanny ability to hurt his team.

Good body and athleticism.  Doesn't get it at all on defense, supposedly.  It is a sad day for the process though.

I see they are officially signing Bolden.  He didn't have a great summer league, but at 4/7, he is a much better value for this team with their roster crunch.

Plus always get more cash!
