Did we already cover the fact that Robert Williams also missed his first summer league practice? Dude looking more expendable by the day.

Think they should do some NBA/ABA thing again - maybe move the Sixers and Celtics over to the Western Conference (NBA).
Au contraire, mon frere. Now free from the early game always being the unwatchable LeBrohan, i want the Sixers to get Kawhi & fix Fultz, Anteaternintendo to get some help and all have a Battle Royale roundrobin of excellence instead of the same ol' "Who gets the Kang?" Yippie!!

I really don't understand all the reports about the Cavs not shopping Love.  Saying the right thing and waiting for the phone to ring?  There's no way they should be trying to win and then end up finishing in the 11-14 range of the lottery which hands the pick off to the Hawks.  Just can't let that even be a possibility.  If it doesn't transfer this year, the Cavs send the Hawks two future 2nds.

Love the fact he is immediately showing why a talent like his was available at #27...not wasting any time at all...

I want to say it's just bad reporting, but with Napoleon up there I'm not ruling anything out.

It was a long time ago, right after the Pacers drafted him. But as far as I know he's never really owned it or faced discipline.  He also was arrested for sexual assault related to a groping incident when he was a senior in high school.

It's a weird situation because it was so long ago, and he's stayed out of legal trouble since then. I don't really have much problem with him being in the league, neither case resulted in a conviction. It's just always kinda weird to me that NBA fans/NBA twitter, which is usually pretty good with this stuff, adores a guy with a history of violence against women so much. Especially since as far as I know he's never really owned it or tried to make amends by volunteering or donating money to a cause related to domestic violence or something.
Understood.  I'm not really a huge NBA fan, more of a casual observer and I wouldn't say I adore the guy as I honestly don't know him.  And I guess I don't pay much attention to off the court stuff all the time, just what I observe on t.v. and I listen to some sports talk radio on the way home from time to time so I've never heard about this before. My opinion of him, very casual, general observation is that he has been one to play hard on the court, again, I'm not in a position to judge him nor anyone else in what they do off the court, my opinion is based on his on court play.  And I'm not sure of what amends he's made for his actions but, again, I hope he's gotten help for his issues.  I am disappointed to hear he's done these things and I hope those actions are never repeated.

Saw a cap analysis and due to that freaking Deng contract Lakers are doubtful to be able to clear enough space  for Leonard or Cousins. Looks like next year. LeBron takes a year to make men out of these kids and then they really go for it next summer

Why didn't Durant go this year?
 i've given up thinking what some of these NBA players motives are. it isn't basketball. i think Durant wants to win and not deal with the trainwreck that is why he didn't go this year

kind of think so too. wondering if this is why George didn't go there. and have to think Lakers choose Durant over Kawhi because it is all show
You're saying LAL didn't want George because Lebron already got the wink wink from Durant?  If it was solely up to George, I don't see how Durant factors into his decision.

Seems odd you would waste a year here - LeBron is a freak of nature but he'll eventually slow down.  He's played a lot of basketball.

honestly i have no idea any more. if Lebron wanted to win he would have joined the Sixers, so i'm done guessing motivations

what exactly was the point of lebron's reps meeting with the sixers yesterday and then lebron almost immediately announces that he is going to LA?  Lebron had his mind made up for a while and his reps still were trying to pull a last ditch effort to get him to consider the Sixers?  If so, why?

Or trying to somehow keep a good future relationship with the Sixers (especially given Simmons)?  Though not sure getting making them fly all the way out there for nothing does all that much to help.
I guess it’s possible that Klutch told the sixers that lebron was going to LA (hence Joel’s tweets) and the sixers were like #### it, just give us a chance even though we know it’s a long shot.  And klutch did them the professional courtesy (hence the reason that lebron wasn’t there).

they should focus more on spelling clutch correctly

Spurs want Saric, Covington and three first rounders?

If that happened (or less picks?) then what would the Sixers do?  Is there a 4 out there that makes sense?
With LeBron gone....I don't know if I move that for a Leonard who doesn't want to be there.  If Lebron were still out there....yeah, of course you do it.

It will be interesting the first time Stephenson sets a weak screen that gets Lonzo clobbered and then Lavar rants about it to Ramona Shelburne.
Is there anyway we can get Ron Art.... I mean Metta World Peace on this team? I want him to cause a Malace In the Palace 2.0 but the person ends up being Lavar. Quality TV right there.

I think the Sixers actually met with agents for Lebron James Jr.  They're getting an early in with him....and I guess they figure that when he's draft eligible in 4 years.....Lebron the Elder, along with the Warriors will be obsolete AND Simmons and Fultz will have developed their shots...thus making Philly an attractive place for Prince James.

Don't know if it's been covered, but Gilbert went the classy (aka boring) route this time:

Gilbert and Cleveland got the title they coveted.  In reality were not going to win another one in Cleveland even if he stayed.

James is not leaving entering his prime as he did before. James is getting older and entering his declining years as a player. So it is easy this time just to say thanks and best of luck.

The Eastern Conference now has only one remaining player that's made an All NBA team in the last 5 years.

That player, of course, is Joakim Noah.
The legend continues. I remember when so many experts thought Noah was nothing but a guy off the bench to bring energy and defense and give the team some Rebs. Was one of the best passing Cs in his prime since Divac. He'll end up being one of the top 3-5 players in his draft that also had Horford, KD and Nick Young as well as Conley. I was loving during his prime all these experts saying he was nothing more then a bench guy now trying to back track. It was almost as good as all the experts who had to backtrack after the Eagles won the SB this year. Man many of those hot takes blow up in their faces.

the downside is with NBA fans, and having no Lebron in the playoffs or competitive games past the 2nd round of playoffs. i guess it is time for others to take over, and so be it, but there is a downside in not seeing more competitive basketball. But it had to happen at some point, so we move on....
Competitive basketball? Most of the East teams the better teams coasted into the playoffs. Really there were a few competitive series but nothing that should have made people believe the league was so competitive. Its not really competitive when 1/3rd of the league is tanking, 1/3 is in purgatory of we're just good enough and then the other 1/3 is a few really good teams and 1-3 super teams.

Maybe Lebron started recruiting Ben to LA early
