2018 College Football Thread: Local man buys some teenage champions a 4 for 4 (1 Viewer)

Is there a team Alabama wouldn't be a double-digit favorite over right now?  Has there ever been a larger perceived gap between #1 and the rest?

Not sure how to research, but I asked a related question about the most points a Top 5 team has ever gotten at home.

With Alabama being a 14-point favorite at LSU, In the last 40 years, only one other Top 4 team has been a double-digit dog on its home field - 2013 No. 4 Auburn +10.5 vs No. 1 Alabama. Also known as the “Kick Six” Game.

Saban doesn't get scouting reports from former coaches he hires as consultants?
Yea that was not a real story...these staffs apparently get along well behind the scenes. A lot of mutual respect.

Cmon...You saw weaknesses last week?
We didn’t put Wilkins in at QB, so he hasn’t seen our secret weapon yet.

I think it’s odd anyone has much of an surefire opinion on Bama yet - should have a much better idea with what we’re looking at after tonight. Could be the greatest team of all time, could be the best team in the country but not perfect, could be just another Bama title contender.  There’s not a huge range of possibilities, but going from unbeatable to mortal would be a big deal.

Also Christian Wilkins has been pressing Dabo hard to play QB some, even bothering Dabo’s wife about it. The TD run last week was supposed to keep him happy, but he’s apparently still wanting snaps at center.  Some friends of mine think it’ll happen this week, so that could be worth watching. If it does, I actually don’t think it’ll be late in a blowout because Dabo wouldn’t want to seem like he’s showing up the opponent.

Prediction: Wilkins runs a Tebow jump pass in Q2.

Clemson...in the last 3 CFPs...loving the lack or attention and underdog role and playing up the ROY bus. Vegas sees thru it.
I’m not saying Lawrence is ready to take on a top team or anything, but his play last week compared to a month ago is night and day. It’s really pretty amazing. Last year’s Bama game was the exact reason we made the switch to TL from Bryant, so we’ll see what happens but it appears to have been the correct decision at this point. We rode the running game while he got his feet wet, and now he’s settled in a bit and throwing all over the place.

Hes every bit as good as advertised. Farrell wrote an article saying he’d be the top pick in the 2019 draft if eligible.

Herbstreit finished Gameday in Baton Rouge at noon, and he’s doing the Michigan / Penn State game in Ann Arbor at 3:45. That’s crazy.

Louisville goes head to head on our punt returner.  Guy celebrates like crazy... down 49-3... get a targeting call and booted from the game. ?

@alexmaminakis: Fans in front of me are pulling up rosters on their phone to see who is on the field for Clemson. That’s where we are.

Thread title change OMG.

Petrino waking up to a pair of his and her motorcycles in his driveway would be epic

Leaving Jordan Hare. Can't say Gus outcoached Jimbo. More like Jimbo out coached Jimbo.  Running at will and decided to start throwing?

Is James Franklin coaching this game under the influence? I’ve never in my life seen a head coach decline the kick off out of bounds penalty.

Where did they end up getting the ball?  I think technically you decline if it goes out off bounds ahead of the 35 like on an onside kick.    Makes no sense if it was behind the 35.
The 25.

He also called a timeout with one minute left in the half before he punted to Michigan on a 4th and 17. Could have run the clock down to 25 seconds.
