2018 College Football Thread: Local man buys some teenage champions a 4 for 4 (2 Viewers)

Late in the first half - Iowa 3 Iowa St 3.

It must be horrible to be an Iowa fan. You have to cheer good punts from your opponent's 35 yard line and draws on 3rd and long.

Our Bulls in a dogfight against Temple, but mostly in control.  Gotta put em away here late.
22-22 with 11:24 left.  Temple has scored on a hail mary at the end of the first half, and a blocked punt recovered in the end zone, complete with a trick play fluke 2-point conversion.

Bulls show some heart and close it out with a 36-29 win.  Freshman RB Kevin Marks explodes onto the scene with 138 yards and 2 TDs on the ground.  Star WR Anthony Johnson misses much of the game with an injury, but still picks up 6-76 and the game-winning TD as he drags a defender into the end zone late.  Bulls with a strip sack to end any chance of a Temple comeback.

Bulls 2-0 for the first time since joining D-1A in 1998.

Notre Dame looked horrible start to finish. Not the same team that played Michigan and once again played down to competition.

Update - Iowa 6 Iowa St 3 as we near the end of the 3Q. What an exciting game.

I am sure a lot of people will overreact to the loss, but I was impressed with what I saw and like this brand of football a lot better than what I have seen the last several years.  This will be a fun team to watch.  Go Big Red.

They were obviously the better team but it's almost impossible to win games where you lose turnovers 0-3 and spot the other team 14 points. No doubt Frost gets this turned around, though it will be a dicey season if Martinez isn't healthy.

Ridiculously long review in UK - UF game to determine its 2nd and 1 from 2 instead of 1st and goal from 1.

That of course was immediately followed by end of 1st quarter

The MSU-KSt game had a review that took 90 seconds just to get to the ref stopping play officially to review.

having never successfully kicked a ball in my life, is punting really that hard? are kids not practicing it? #### is a guaranteed college scholarship but maybe 8 kids a year can actually kick a football.

Phillipe Franks looks terrible from what I’ve watched...the QB Guru has his work cut out this year.
