2018 College Football Thread: Local man buys some teenage champions a 4 for 4 (2 Viewers)

HUGE game tomorrow down in Eugene.  Picking my buddy up at PDX and then taking the backroads down - I5 will be a clusters*#@%.  It'll be tight to get there by kick-off; not many 12:30pm kicks at Autzen, but hopefully the game lives up to the hype and the country gets a good one.  Weather will be absolutely perfect; should make for some really great visuals on  your HD TVs.  Will be staying down there overnight.

Cannot wait!  GO DUCKS!
In Eugene now and planning on heading over to tailgate around 10:00 a.m. tomorrow.  Let me know if you get in early as I will probably be in the Mashofski center with my family and will buy you a beer.

I won't get down there until close to kickoff. Are you staying down there tonight?  Maybe halftime or even post game?  We are staying down in Eugene tonight so let me know.

I'm so amped up for this one.  Hope it's a good game.

UB LB/DE Solomon Jackson died unexpectedly in March 2016.  Since then, they've had a rotating #41 (Jackson's number), worn by a different player either on the offensive or defensive side of the ball for one game only.

Today it's QB Tyree Jackson wearing the #41.  Apparently he's the first QB in either pro or college football to wear #41 since Tom Matte wore it for the Baltimore Colts in 1961.  Interesting stuff.

Todd Grantham yelling expletives at an opposing coach after one of his players was just ejected for targeting is extremely on-brand.

No idea what happened there but Vandy coaches must have said something pretty darn flagrant to the Florida sideline for all of Florida's coaches to be that pissed off.

Watched the replay again.  You can definitely tell Mason said something pretty bad.  Mullen is walking away then Mason barks something at him and Mullen turns around with fury in his eyes and has to be held back by the ref.

Interview on the way to the locker room Mullen said Mason would have to answer to SEC commish for what was said.

I’m of the opinion that hell for college football fans is being forced to watch Rutgers - Maryland for all eternity.

So interesting tidbit about that scrum.  I thought Joseph did something specific during the scrum to pick up another personal foul which then ejected him since he had one earlier.  But instead it looks like they literally just gave every player on both teams a personal foul for the incident, so anyone who had one earlier was ejected.  He might have been sitting on the bench the whole time for all I know.

So I guess any personal foul from now on is an ejection since now everyone on both teams (who hasn't already been ejected) technically has one.  So what if there is another brawl.  Everyone would have two personal fouls and everyone on both teams gets ejected leaving no players left to play?

It's the Seahawk's family Superbowl. I am a Duck, she is a Husky. Loser of this game probably has no shot at the playoffs.  Full spread of food and drinks. Winner in the house gets whatever they want until Monday, nothing is off the table. So if Oregon loses, and I am not here...it's due to yardwork or cleaning the basement.

What do you get if Oregon wins?

Buffalo topples MAC East reigning champion Akron 24-6 on a chilly 45-degree fall afternoon at UB Stadium.  Bulls move to 6-1 (3-0) and bowl eligible for a second consecutive season.  It's the school's first 6-1 start since 1959.

Relatively quiet afternoon for Tyree Jackson, but the Bulls run for 223 yards behind true freshman stars Jaret Patterson and Kevin Marks, and 57 yards from Jackson himself.  They'll get a true test on the road next week at a very solid Toledo team.

So who’s the FFA rooting for? Mr or Mrs?

Usually “bets” like this between my wife and I end up with sex regardless of who “wins”.

UCF vs. Memphis game is not sold out, yet it is on local tv.

They do the same thing with Grizzlies basketball games.

I have never lived anywhere else where this happens.

I really really hate Brian Kelly. He just can’t help himself passing over and over again when he clearly needs to run the damn ball.
