2018 MLB Regular Season Thread! Current thread batting average: .420 (1 Viewer)

Juan Soto was 2-2 with three walks in the first of two games today. That’s 49 walks and 49 Ks this year.  He is 2nd in the NL in OBP at .437 and his OPS is now over 1.000 in 278 PAs.

In his first at bat in Game 2, he homered on an 0-2 count vs a leftie. He hits .316 when the count starts 0-2 with 11 extra base hits and an .870 OPS.  He now has 14 homers in the majors and 14 homers in the minors and a combined 1100 OPS this year.
And then struck out his next three plate appearances.

‘98 Yankees, ‘01 Mariners, and ‘17 Doyers were the only three teams in MLB history to reach 80 wins in 114 games. Add the ‘18 Red Sox after tonight.

And only one of those teams won a WS!
Sox might not win the WS but I’m enjoying the living #### out of this season. They have a knack for coming back late on teams and their chemistry seems through the roof. Anything can happen in the playoffs but I can say pretty confidently that any team that beats them come playoff time will have earned it. They will have fight in them come October and as a fan that is all you can ever ask.

thank you.  I was trying to google the other day best record through 112 games, though all I was getting were things about final season records.

Welcome to the big leagues Brett Kennedy
The Padres have a lot of experience at being out of pennant races but I like the idea of them running out their young pitchers to see what they've got.  They're no more likely to get injured in the bigs and getting rocked by MLB players is less dispiriting as being hit by minor leaguers in the PCL.

Hey Guys! I was just in here stalking and noticed that Bour has been traded to the Phillies. Does this mean Santana to the OF?

Dodgers will miss playoffs with Jansen gone for a month smfh
I was surprised the Dodgers didn't try to strengthen their bullpen at the deadline.  John Axford doesn't count.

I realize they're trying to stay under the CBT number but there were a lot of RPs available in addition to Machado and Dozier.
