You're deep sea fishing. You come across a capsized boat and Jimbo and Gundy treading water frantically. You have one life preserver.  Who do you throw it to?

Easy answer.  Gundy's mullet is a national treasure.

I tell Jimbo it’s 75M for his. He’ll understand ripping people off.

@ChrisVannini: Miami was No. 2 in the country 25 months ago. Canes are 13-15 since then.
I hadn't been following the bowls yet, and didn't see live what you and Don't Noonan were talking about. Just saw that Louisiana Tech shut out The U last night.

What the heck happened to that Miami program?

Coaching and talent not what it used to be.  I mean it's better than La. Tech though.  But no Miami player is going to give a crap about a game in Shreveport the day after Christmas against La. Tech.

Big10 gets no respect.  Had like (6) top 25 teams and USC was favored over Iowa by time game tipped off.  The proof is in the pudding.  blowout.

Can't wait to see Big10 (outside of MICH) roll through the bowl games.

Wisconsin is favored over Oregon which is very surprising to me so they are getting some respect.  I just put down a large ML water on Oregon.

ORE is solid vs Pac12 teams, but they haven't played many teams with solid lines.  The big boys on the WI o-line will push them around.

Gonna be hard for ORE to win with a huge time of possession deficit unless they hit tons of big plays.

Miracles happen though.  GL.

I just don't get why you'd bet on our team.  If you bet $150 on Wiscy, and they win, at least you get some money.  When Oregon wins, you've paid an acceptable amount of money for a Ducks' Rose Bowl.  Philosophy changes from fan to fan.....but I don't get it.

the non-playoff bowl games don't really mean anything anymore.  Betting on them is the only interesting thing about them.  Might as well bet on your home team.  Nobody cares who wins the Rose Bowl anymore.

You, whose location is "Wisconsin", don't care who wins the Rose Bowl?  REALLY?  C'mon.

Oregon's online is better than Wisconsins oline.  This isn't the old Oregon type of speed and skill position team.  They run the ball and stop the run pretty well.  I think Wisconsin will have to throw to win.  Miracle?     Come on now.

He doesn't care.  Doesn't even have an opinion on who wins.

I normally don't bet on Oregon unless I am very confident they will win.  This is my first time betting on them this year.  My brother happens to be in Vegas and he bet $200 for me on ML. We are going to the game together.  This will pay for my ticket if they win.  If not, I am okay with the $200 loss.  I would never, never bet against Oregon even if I thought they would lose.  To each his own.

I was at the last Oregon vs Wisconsin Rose Bowl too, fun memories!

Miss the auburn game eh?

Oregon is good, but they haven't been tested regularly against solid o/d-lines.  It was basically a scrimmage game for Iowa playing USC.  The Pac-12 is loaded with horrible defenses.  I think we can all agree on that.

Oregon played AUB tough and beat a decent Utah team (who played nobody).  Besides that they played all cupcakes.

They aren't prepared for the grind it out style of WI.  To win they will need a bunch of big plays and turnovers by WI.  They aren't gonna beat WI without a +2 TO ratio.

Maybe WI will beat themselves.  That's ORE's shot and it could happen.

Love the confidence!  One of us will be eating crow next week.  They absolutely will out grind Wisconsin and send them home crying like last time.  Can't wait!

By the way, Oregon didn't need USC's starting QB to get hurt to crush USC.

Tons of people would love to have their team win the Rose Bowl.

Please continue to annually retain Helton SC. He’s uhh totally got a plan to fix this.

Much love, - All ND fans
Is it possible they still fire him, before the final recruiting deadline?  What a brutal week he's had.  Looking forward to starting the '20 year vs them in Dallas.

How do they sell tickets next year? Seems impossible.

Also gameday without the crowd and signs is lame.

If the only joy you get out of a sport is your team winning a national title than you’re going to be miserable pretty much all the time. That’s a ridiculous way to go through fandom imo.
Agreed.

That's what bugs me about the general discussion in regards to college hoops - from the first tip of the season on, it's mostly about who makes the NCAA Tournament. Don't get me wrong - I love March Madness, too - but I also love the regular season. Especially this season, when conference play is going to be a bloodbath with no apparent favorites in many of them.

I guess I'm in the minority in that I like to enjoy the ride while it's happening.

FSU hired a “chief of staff” today. I thought that was the head coach. 🤨 Anybody else have this? I assume Bama.

I’ve never heard if it before 20 minutes ago. Somebody on twitter said like a GM.
What are the duties?  I know we’ve hired a whole bunch of people over the past few years like social media directors, different nutritional people, people who spend all day watching and cutting film.

"In his role as chief of staff, Warwick will coordinate all aspect of the program’s administrative impact and influence. He also will work closely with the coaching, recruiting, operations, academics and communications staffs."

Sounds like operations, facilities, and other odds and ends.

What is a "Chief of Staff" in college football, is that kinda like a GM in the NFL?

I think some call it director or manager of football operations. Not exactly sure what their duties are.    Nebraska has a director of football operations and a director of football and recruiting operations.  What's the difference?  :loco:   They both make $120K+ a year.

1000% agree. I went to both Sugar Bowls in the last decade when Bama lost huge games at the end of the year to miss the BCS. Also went to the ‘10 Citrus, and am trying to work out the trip this year. I get a lot of joy from watching my school play...and from experiencing the events around these games with friends.
