I'm fine with the 4 team. There were 3 deserving teams this year. I don't think there have ever been 5, nor will there ever be.
I don’t understand this at all. If we went to 8 teams there would definitely be more competitive postseason games because there would be more postseason games period. OU probably would have lost in the first round of an 8 teamer and today’s game wouldn’t have happened.
yeah. not sure what OSU defender could have done to avoid that. He wasn't targeting. The PI call after was ok since the OSU guy was grabbing the arm the entire time...but it never would have happened without the BS targeting call.
What could the defender do? If QB doesn’t lower his helmet, he hits him in the chest. Is it targeting then?
Yes. There are two types of targeting. Leading with the helmet is one of them. The other is hitting the head or neck of the ball carrier first.
I wish the refs could use some discretion when the penalty involves disqualification, but then I remember how bad some refs are and I’m not so sure.
I think it could still be. I’m not arguing what we all saw but like RW said, it’s not a dumb call but a dumb rule.
Change the penalty to allow for maybe a 15 minutes of game time suspension or something. A mandatory remainder of game ejection is ridiculous.
Its not complicated. Dont hit the qb with the crown. He went for the big hit and paid the price.
Exactly- and in fact, I’ll go further. The replay official did a good job there making the correct call. We may all think it’s dumb but it was correct.
