2019 College football thread - It's 2020, yo. Go to the new thread. (2 Viewers)

Ohio St. has dominated most of the 1st half, but Clemson has made this a 16-14 game. They have to feel like they have this assuming no last minute scores.

The targeting call was obviously huge. It was the correct call by the rule, but I wish there was some discretion on that as the defender Wade is just making a play and lowered his head. Still, but the rule, it's correct.

Yes. There are two types of targeting. Leading with the helmet is one of them. The other is hitting the head or neck of the ball carrier first.
Leading with the helmet “to attack with forceable contact”. I don’t think that he was leading with the helmet to attack, but the rule also says “When in question, it is a foul“ and that leads to dumb results like this one.

Ohio State kicked two field goals from inside the 5

Since they review targeting anyway, it wouldn't be tough to say that type of targeting is 15 yards (2 and you're out like unsportsmanlike conduct) and targeting with a launch (the real dangerous ones) immediate ejection.    Again, they review them anyway.

I’d say we lost 80% of the plays that half, but still fighting.

Also Arizona, your field sucks. Get field turf before you kill someone.

From a Licensed Sales standpoint...either LSU or OSU will be huge, especially comping the Bama-Clemson years. LSU has an unpredictable upside.  Clemson is as low as it goes.

Amazingly LSU will play in its 3rd BCS/CFP Champ game in NOLA in the last 12 years. Something in the water...

Determining the national championship has several routes depending on your objective. Currently the committee is trying to determine the best teams. Some want entertaining games. I think it should be earned based on winning a conference championship. It should get A little interesting how players pick schools now that they can get compensation besides scholarships.
