2019 College football thread - It's 2020, yo. Go to the new thread. (1 Viewer)

College football games so ####ty right now that I'm watching the Shawn Porter/Errol Spence undercard on FS1.  Don't get me wrong, I love boxing....but I love football a lot more.

Hoping one of the 3 later games comes up with a gem.

Auburn with a great first half.

Nix was dismissed with only a 100 yards last week. 2 nice bombs today. 189 yds in first half. 328 yards iin total yds's in 12 min of possession. Time to rest em up for a visit to the swamp next week.

Offensive playcalling for Clemson is so bad sometimes. It rarely matters because of the talent difference, but it’s really bland.
Was at the game.  The false start penalties looked like a middle school team.  Hard to believe I was actually watching Clemson play.

What happened to tanner Muse?

Feel bad for these Nebraska fans.  Such hope, such excitement, the underdog darlings......just to run into a team that is infinitely better than them who absolutely dismantles them at home.

Seems eerily prescient.
Was just thinking about how much it must suck to be a Nebraska fan at this game. At this point you'd have to be trying to decide whether you want to sit through another hour and a half of this or just leave during halftime.

Also, yeah, probably. :sadbanana:

Anyone ever gone to an Army home game?  I am going to be in NYC for a few days end of October for a business thing and thought that might be a fun side trip if it was a great experience.  Wish OSU was at Rutgers, or any other good B1G school, but they are playing Liberty?
I've been to Michie, but only for lacrosse and it was a long time ago.

My team actually plays there in November -- and several times over the next few years. Definitely need to make a trip back there soon. It's probably only about a 2 1/2-hour drive for me.

Just got back from dinner at my sister's house.  She and her husband are still season ticket holders; I gave mine up a few years ago, can't do every-other-week anymore though I'll still go to a game or two this year.  If they win, it's an epic win you'll remember for years.  I remember being at 31-0, the Lawyer Milloy game, the first game of my run of season tickets.

But c'mon.  This Patriots team may be their best ever.  The defense is great, the offense is great.  The Bills are.....pretty good, i think.  They just might have something in Josh Allen.  But I don't see it happening tomorrow.

This year is the end of Bama-Clemson. Inevitable, but a year early with another dual of the two great QBs falling short.

Nobody is beating Clemson before the playoffs, despite the fact they look soft-ish. Then it’s just a one-off for them to make the title game.

Maybe, but feels like there are better teams this year.

Also Clemson always peaks late, and Bama’s QB-WR are improved and so great it could cover an average D.

It does, but at least one of the 3 of them from the sec won’t make it. If they get OU again I would expect Clemson to win.

Personally in order of chances of winning the title I would rank them:

OSU

Bama

LSU

Georgia

Clemson

OU

OU seems much improved defensively but I can’t see them beating two of those five teams back to back.

On a related biased note...does Bama have the best college WR corp ever?

Riedel/Jacquez/Ike is the first group i think of...USC, Miami, Oklahoma..

But there are at least 2 first rounders including a top 5 pick, a Biletnikoff, a 4.2 guy, and the 4th best dude just had a 275-yard, 5 TD day.

OSU hasn't missed a beat yet.... but we still don't know what Ryan Day can do in a big game yet. He could just be another James Franklin... great, but not elite.

I'm seeing the spread as Auburn +7.5 - that hook seems awfully enticing.

Rutgers football is firing HC and their OC. But what a motley bunch they're interested in. Holy Skeletons in the Closet!
@Brett_McMurphy: Individuals representing Rutgers contacted Greg Schiano, Butch Jones & Jim Leavitt among others  in past 2 weeks to gauge interest in RU job, sources told @Stadium
