2020-21 NBA *Playoffs* Thread: Bucks are the champs and you can take that to the bank bromigos (8 Viewers)

i kind of wished the NBA didn't change their rules. would be funny watching middle school basketball players jumping into each other and then shooting to ready themselves for the NBA

also pissed i didn't have the balls to lay money on these pesky Hawks to win this series. my biggest question is this a 1 season thing, or is this long term? real hard to tell

The Hawks are wise to foul Giannis under the hoop.  The Bucks should have done the same thing anytime Capella touched the ball late.  The defenders avoided fouling him inside a few possessions ago and he put it in point blank.

Because usually young teams with little to no playoff experience don't make runs to the finals.

Super teams can do it when they have a group of guys that have been in some playoff battles.

You could also look at the Suns and say what about them. They could be the exception to the rule, but they Paul and Crowder and they have also have yet to play a team that isn't missing an all-star or all nba player.
I am loving the long odds given by going against conventional wisdom.

assistants to coach Bud:  coach, here are our advantages tonight...

coach Bud: (stares blankly at the pages) *crumples paper* we're not doing that
Yup.  Played the drop coverage against Trae for 3+ quarters.  Switched the last 10 minutes or so and the looks the Hawks got were much worse.  Giannis and Tucker just didn't take care of the boards with the PatC, no BLopez lineup.  By then though the Hawks felt they could win and Trae was already on fire with his bigs all over the lane.

On offense the Bucks allowed Trae to just rest on Tucker in the corner early and keep his energy up for 3 quarters.  He waited until game 4 to try the real stuff against the Nets...at least he went with some of it in game 1 this series.  Still cost the Bucks home court though. We'll see how the Bucks adjust before game 2.

Milwaukee has to play with better energy, generally.  they stood around too much on offense and weren't moving the ball. make em chase a little. pound the ball inside.  shooting 58 three pointers or whatever it was in the first quarter when they weren't dropping, but continuing to jack them up seemed like a bad idea.

i think the undoubtedly calling card in playing these Hawks is you have to play all 48 minutes. 1-3 minutes of letting up and these Hawks won't let it go.

Still am not over those game 4 and game 5 losses by the Sixers giving up 26 and 18 point leads in the 2nd half, but feel better knowing this Hawks team is just on a different level and wave right now

can they go hockey and send out 5 goons to beat Atlanta up for a few minutes to start game 2?

Thanasis really isn't a basketball player. they could have him clothesline a few dudes.

Crazy what Hawks are doing

Even without Hunter. I don't think people realize how good he is. Particularly as a defender. JMO He's went under the radar there with Trae.

Reddish needs work on the consistency of his J but he's a very good defender as well.

JMO Both are big upgrades over Bogdanovic/Gallo. I think if they get their health back could see one or both of Bog/Gallo dealt.
