Listening to the Bill Simmons (noted Celtics fan) podcast from yesterday.

QOTD:  "The Bucks team we saw today was one of those 'This is why we're the f'ing champs' games."

It absolutely was a dirty play.
I just saw the replay. I was shocked after seeing the actual play after hearing how dirty the play was in here. What am I missing, it looked like Siakim drove to the basket and his elbow struck Embid inadvertently?

I am not a fan of either team - how was that dirty?

Him and Draymond Green both huge annoying drama queens.

Smart running off flopping his arm like he just was shot and Draymond jumping around hitting himself in the head like a clown were both embarrassing.
He had a stinger and left a 10 pt game for some significant minutes to have it checked out.

Not sure if you've ever had a stinger, but they hurt like hell for a while.  It's like hitting your funny bone except on a much larger nerve and it lasts longer.

Yes he flops, but he was legitimately banged up on that play.  He's also been labeled as questionable for Tuesday from a bruise to his quad.

I wonder how Robert Williams's junk is doing.  Based on his reaction, I would've thought that somebody cut it off...

These Celtics definitely have a flair for the dramatic, I'll give them that.

OK, easy now.  Rob Will took a kick to the nuts and Smart legit got a stinger in his shoulder.  Don't act like you don't have an absolute thug in Grayson Allen and a 7-foot enforcer on the back line to go with two very strong and physical defenders in Giannis and Jrue.

The announcers said it looked more like an 80's game than 2022 and half of that was because the Bucks want it that way.  Can't beat the #### out of your opponent for 48 minutes and then make fun of them for being hurt.  I mean, you can, but it is a jerk thing to do.

The Bucks got the better of the Celtics in almost every way yesterday.  No need to mock the guys who got hurt as well.

This made me laugh enough to quote instead of just reacting. To be clear, just very well written, dry , and hilarious. Not commenting on whether that's what happened or not. Great line.

Because Embiid plays for the 76ers and Siakim was playing against them.

As a big UNC fan, I dislike Dookies as much as the next guy, and I know that college Grayson absolutely deserved his reputation as a dirty player, but what has he really done wrong since he's been in the League?  Asking honestly, because nothing really stands out to me.  People will point out the foul on Caruso, but I feel like that one was way overblown.

I don't quite know how to help then

OK, let's say I'd concede that play as "dirty."  Were there others?  Because surely there would have to be others if we're going to label him an "absolute thug," right?  I mean, you could argue that everyone has "flopped" at one point or another to get a call, but I wouldn't label you a "flopper" unless you have a veritable mixtape of flops like Marcus Smart does.

this bunch has a history of flat day games, going back two or three yrs and, until whatever this surge is made of began, the symptoms were short shots and long whines, whether about refs or owwwies. either that or the Leprechaun got Maaaacus for the the green hair. til they wake up again, we'll amuse ourselves with memory of how quiet the Cheeseheads were when they were 2-1 dogs last wk.

It is only like a 30 second google search to see how dirty of a player he is. He tried to trip Trae Young, he had a bad rep in college for tripping people and I believe got suspended for it in college, then got multiple flagrant fouls in the g league and was considered a dirty player there.

I get he wears the hometown jersey and all, but these players don't get these reps for no reason. It is okay to root for the jersey no matter who wears it, but own it and don't act all naive when someone says your player is dirty.

I like the Warriors, I root for Draymond Green, plus he is a fellow Sparty, but he acts like a clown after almost every foul. When he kicked Lebron and Steven Adams in the groin a few years ago it was dirty and he was a moron trying to act it was part of his shooting motion. This unconditional love some of you give these players because they wear the jersey of your team is weird.

Love the fight the 76ers are showing. The Heat (other than Herro) don't look like they are very interested in this game after they jumped all over the 76ers in the first quarter.

In my experience here, Sixers fans are not as bad as eagles fans. I would rank them Flyers - Eagles - Phillies - Sixers as far as awfulness goes.

I just think the whole things funny. Not what Toronto's announcer said but the Sixers Color guy Alaa early in the season made a comment about a hard collision by Embiid and Josh Giddey and insinuated he didn't care if Giddey was injured since he didn't play for the Sixers or something like that. He basically says "no offense to Giddey but I could care less."  Seems like Karma has come back and bit the Sixers at the worst time. Didn't see one Sixers fan say anything about how unprofessional this way

James Harden is up there with them on the flopping as well.

He might be legit hurt but you understand why a lot of fans won't give him sympathy right?

Alex Caruso  and Trae Young would like a word with you.

Allen dirty play timeline from College to AC incident

Crowder with a classic Draymond Green move there...and Reggie Miller announcing and the play by play is "there's a guy who used to pull that dirty move, was number 31, a hall of famer by the name of Miller I think..." lol

Suns in 5 may have been optimistic. Even when Dallas defends well they still make all the shots. You know it's bad when we put in Ntilikina looking for a spark.

May as well go Luka-Dorian-Bullock-Bertans-Dinwiddie and just try to win 140-139.

He waddled off with about 1:30 left before half.  And did he REALLY get a stinger cuz watching the replays it hardly even looked like that shoulder was touched. I seem to remember even the announcer saying something like "it looked like he got hit on the left shoulder, but went off the court dragging his right shoulder".  And WA LA, back right at the start of the second half throwing up the first shot of the 3rd quarter from the 3pt line....his shooting arm that got the "stinger" nonetheless.  It's a Celtics miracle!!!

In any event. I'm sticking with drama queen.

Doc needed an excuse why the 76ers wouldn't get past the 2nd round so losing his star player for multiple games in RD seemed like an obvious decision for him to use.

But Dallas would have knocked out GS

Definitely no "unconditional love" here for Grayson.  I just didn't remember anything from his pro career prior to the Caruso incident, and I was willing to chalk up the college stuff to youthful indiscretion.  Either way, for one reason or another, the idea of Grayson Allen being a "thug" makes me chuckle.
