2021-22 NBA Thread: Bill Simmons furiously recording 2.5 hour long pod about how Boston is still better than Golden State (2 Viewers)

I’d love to see Jaren Jackson Jr. learn to play with a bit more patience. Just seems like his shots/decisions on the offensive end are a bit too eager and slightly out of control.

Still don't think they're ready, but they split and have been in 2 close games.

Will be interesting to see if they get rolled in GS or if they can continue to keep it competitive.

GSW shooting 18.4 % for 3s.

Wow

Lowest # for them since 1991, per post-game show

Watching Ja and Steph going back and forth is a thing of beauty.  Some of the remarkable shots Morant makes in the paint remind me of the ridiculous stuff Curry pulls off beyond the arc.

I don't know what to think about the BOS/MIL series.

If what happened last night happened in game 1 instead, I'd have been fitting Boston for rings already.  That game 1 debacle is helping temper my expectations and hopefully keeping the team humble and focused. I think Boston is the better team, but they need to get one of the 2 games in Milwaukee...can't go down 3-1.

Celtics played great last night.  As much as I ##### about them flopping and embellishing, they're obviously an elite defensive team.  Grant Williams was great on Giannis.  Big, barrel-chested dude reminds me of Anthony Mason back in the day.  If they can consistently guard Giannis 1:1 (and make almost half their threes after shooting just 35% during the regular season), that's huge for them.

I thought the Bucks played better in the second half, but obviously Boston took their collective foot off the gas a little bit, too.  It'll be interesting to see the adjustments that both teams make going into Saturday.

I'm not normally someone who believes in the "they won't shoot that poorly again" argument.

But I'd bet my life savings that Golden State will not shoot below 19% from 3 again the rest of the playoffs.

Congrats on an ugly win at home Memphis.  You are going to be coming back home down 3-1 after your trip to the bay.

Pretty straightforward IMO. The Bucks scheme to take away the lane and allow a boatload of three attempts instead. If Boston makes threes like last night, they are tough to beat.

Last night was a pretty typical Boston game from the past 4 months. Swarm on defense, make threes early, get up 25 by halftime, and mostly coast the rest of the game.

They still have issues in settling for too many threes and getting into last second jacks to beat the shot clock in the second half. They need to get out faster in transition to get some easy buckets. If not, they can go cold from distance and have a 15 point quarter. They also need to get away from having a one shot three  8 seconds into the shot clock.

And does Giannis at this point have carte  blanche to run people over? Yeah, I get it that Boston flops a lot, but there were multiple times last night when he just ran through people.

One thing I'll bet on is that the Bucks won't be limited to just three 3-pointers on Saturday.  That was crazy.
