I understand your point but you’re punishing Russell based on his circumstances. I doubt he wouldn’t have dominated if the league was opened to all. The very top black players were in the league already and sure the overall talent pool would have risen greatly from if the league were more open - but Russell still would have been the best player in the league.

He might have been the best player, but Russell's place in the all-time NBA pantheon is largely based on winning 11 championships and 5 MVPs. He may not have achieved either of those in a fully integrated league.

Even as it was, was he really the best player in his era over others like Wilt and Oscar? Russell clearly benefitted by playing on teams loaded with Hall of Fame players, and that presumably gave him considerably more help than the other elite players of the era who were not Celtics.

Wolves apparently sniffing around for a traditional center, which I would love to see. I think putting a defensive 5 next to KAT and having him play the 4 is a great idea. Current rumor is Capela. I don't like it. Too expensive for too long and the only way to get him salary wise is to trade Beasley. And why would Atlanta want him when they have 17 wings already who are younger? In conclusion, this is a stupid rumor of a trade that won't happen. Thank you for your time.

dont think KAT can take the post out of his game and few stray outside the paint less than Capela. i can see taking on a dirtywork guy as a co-post, but watching Towns try to be JayTay would be funnier than watching Wiggy when he was piggy
