2021-22 NBA Thread: Bill Simmons furiously recording 2.5 hour long pod about how Boston is still better than Golden State (1 Viewer)

Bulls needed 65/20 from DeRozan/Vooch, Bobby getting knocked out with a cheap shot elbow, Khris/Jrue playing like ###, a friendly whistle, and 15 Bucks turnovers just to win by four last night. Bucks can still win this series without Middleton, but they're either gonna need him back or else Grayson/Pat are gonna need to  really step up if they're gonna have a chance in hell against Boston.

Wasn't a cheap shot elbow if that was then Grayson Allen's cheap shot on AC should've been a season long suspension. Both were going for the ball it was was a perfect motion. Also Giannis should've been called a few times for a flagrant for putting his foot in the shooters lane. Not saying it's intentional but it is a missed call.

Flagrant like the non-flagrant foul when Middleton literally landed on Vucevic's foot when shooting that three?

This is an interesting timetable. Players miss an average of 2 weeks with a grade 1 MCL sprain and an average of 6 weeks with a grade 2 sprain. Grade 2 sprain but they're optimistic? Grade 1 and they're being cautious? Not sure.

Knowing the Bucks, I'd suggest that the latter is more likely, but who knows?  Fingers crossed they can get past the Bulls without him, and then we'll see.  #Bucksin6

Booker could miss 2-3 weeks. Suns in serious trouble despite being an incredible 32-9 on road this year. Guess to hope they'll make some adjustments on the high screens and/or Ingram/McCollum start missing out there.

Can't imagine Pellies going away from the Ingram - Jonas/Nance high screens anytime soon

dood, where is @SWC?!
Just looked at his profile and his last post was on 2/21 - 2 months ago.

He did seem to get pretty fired up in that thread so maybe he decided it wasn't worth it and just checked out for a while?  I honestly hope that's the case as I know he had a health scare in the last couple of years as well.

He was honestly one of my favorite posters in here and I'll miss him dearly if he's never heard from again.

It is true that you have to give a guy space to land when he takes a jump shot. That area doesn't extend in an infinite line towards the basket though. Middleton landed a few feet in front of where he jumped from. You gotta let the defender play a bit of defense. That in no way shou;d be a flagrant

Towns took 4 shots. Which would be at least understandable if he had a bunch of assists. He had 1. He was involved in just 10 of their points tonight. The same amount as Jaden McDaniels. The same amount as Kyle Anderson for Memphis. Embarrassing in 33 minutes.

7 years in the league.

Opposite of development.

Sorry, gb

Giannis is the best player in the league hands down, but without Middleton, beating the Celtics (assuming they do not blow the series against Brooklyn) in the 2nd round will be a pretty tall order.

Mavs win again. Should be up 3-0 but a couple unlucky bounces went against them game 1. A big W for the Maxi/Bertans/Josh Green three point barrage LMAO.

The Nuggets just seem like another one of those teams that are never going to get over the hump, even with a player as great as Jokic.
When two of their top players are out hurt, it is amazing they were even competitive in this game.

GSW is a beast right now.

That was the one of the ugliest games if watched with both teams shooting at least 50%.
Nuggets had a play late (like 1 minute left in a 4pt game) where Jokic screened and got Klay on him and went to the block.  The guy with the ball, maybe Morris or Barton, decides to take a deep contested three with 10 seconds still on the shot clock instead of get it to Jokic.

The result was a long rebound by GSW and they run out and got a bucket (or maybe a foul and 2 FTs?).  That play cost them any chance at winning.  I screamed at the TV as he shot it.

Jokic needs at least some help.

Draymond Green doing a good job reminding me why I dislike him and the Warriors. I'm also extremely sick of watching Curry just shake his head all the time with that nasty mouthpiece hanging out. I like this Poole kid and still like Klay, though.
Adult pacifier.

I thought it turned when Wiggins got switched on to Jokic late. Jokic tried to back him down but then settled for a fade away.

Of the 54 ballots for MVP that are known to have been submitted so far (out of 100 writers and 1 fan vote), Jokic has 445 votes, Greek Freak has 304, and Joel has 250. Maybe things will change with the remaining ballots, but Jokic looks like he will go back-to-back.
Where do you find this info???  Any update since then?

Was in Toronto for a few days and was rocking Sixers gear all day today around town.  Nothing yelled our way, and not even any dirty looks, but we are way too nice up here :P

In a weird way I’m almost hoping this Bulls series goes 7 games and the Bucks win in 7. Give extra time to Middleton (and Portis ?).  I know probably very flawed reasoning but can’t help kinda wanting it.    Middleton is SO important to the Bucks success
