yeah, he seems like he wants to be anywhere else but playing this series. so weird, who would have thought Brooklyn would be by far the easiest 1st round opponent
Wouldn't say they're the easiest 1st round opponent at all.  I think a lot of it is also Boston playing really well.  I think Brooklyn would probably at least be IN the series vs almost every other team in the East.

For sure. For as much as everyone has been praising Boston's play and gameplanning of KD & Ky....which is all well-deserved....they've won all 3 games by a combined 14 points. Even for Boston, a couple plays go differently in any of those games they could easily be down 1-2 or 0-3.

Dillon Brooks reminds me of how Maaaacus Smaaaat was a coupla years ago. what a truly unfortunate chucker - firing away with plenty clock, no help & little chance at the most importune times. maybe it should be he, rather than the Sheilacatcher, who should be sitting for the playoffs.

Been really busy. Still lurk and read the thread, but had no desire post. I am good though. How are you?
Hey, we made the playoffs. I'm good. Glad you checked in. Honestly was worried a bit. Stick around and post once in a while, will ya?

Yes. The Wolves are fun to watch. I hope that series goes 7. Hopefully in a couple years my Pistons can meet the Wolves in the finals. I will try to stick around, but you know... Life.

The Warriors are so fun to watch.
Except Draymond.

He gets fouled dribbling down the sideline and then proceeds to prance around the court yelling for like 30 seconds nonstop to who? about what?

Also, Curry still coming off the bench feels gimmicky at this point.

They are miles better than Denver, so this series is no surprise.

I want to see the Suns, or even better, the Celtics beat the #### out of them.  I know my Warriors hate at this point is mostly irrational as Durant is gone and Curry is really a good dude and is the greatest shooter of all time, but I find myself rooting against them almost always.

And Aaron Gordon is inexplicably terrible on offense.  It's like he spends zero time in the offseason shooting a basketball.

I don't love Green's antics, but he is a fellow Spartan so I will always like him.

You are nitpicking on the Curry thing. Does it really matter if they change now or next series or after they lose a game?

IMO they are the most fun team to watch in the league. That doesn't change whether they are winning or losing.

Agree it is kinda gimmicky.  However, hypothetically if they don't lose a game until the finals, I wonder if they'd keep doing it just for 'luck'.  Would be funny to have him sub in on the first whistle.

Just heard them say Kyrie is observing Ramadan.  That's wild that he isn't even eating anything on game days after 5:30am!

So is Jaylen Brown.

Hakeem did it every year as well.
Read that Brown did it in past years but isn't this year, but who knows.

Either way, that seems like it would be really difficult to play a game like that without eating a thing all day.

That's why Bostonians were feeding it to him so vociferously in the evening

ETA: i presume the middle digit symbolizes "thank you" in his culture

did anyone see Kuminga attempt to block-out Joker in the first half and the MVP pick him up like an effigy and deposit him on the foul line before grabbing the board? best non-Kyrie thing ive seen this playoff season

I’m shocked, Cotton. Ben Simmons declared out for tomorrow’s Game 4.
The guy is a genius. He obviously doesn’t want to play anymore, but he’s getting paid a TON of money to just sit there and watch his teammates play night after night. If you don’t want to play anymore, why bother retiring when you can fake an injury and make bank?

1st home playoff game in 5 years.

Wish could say their performance was surprising. They've been terrible for months. Lavine hasn't looked right for awhile. Lonzo wasn't making up the difference in last night's game but they desperately miss him on both ends. A lot less of the iso basketball that's plagued them and long scoring droughts for years

Ayos play faded as year went on. Though his playing time now is a bit strange.

All said, they've already done more this series than I thought they'd do (win a game). I thought they were the worst playoff team based on play the last months.

They need more of a bench. A guy who can penetrate the paint and draw fouls and some shooters. We need another big as well. I love Vucevic but he's so inconsistent. I think Lavine's knee has been bothering him. A good summer off should do him a world of good They also need a back up to Lonzo who plays similar so if he gets hurt or needs to miss time again they have a guy. I'd honestly trade Coby white and Vuc in the right deals over the summer.

Jonathan Givoney was right on his Simmons right up. This dude has zero desire for completion. Just amazes me how many people defended this guy for yrs. Maybe it was tunnel vision of wanting the next superstar, maybe it was because he was on their team, favorite player they grew attracted too what have you. I'd have paid good money to watch what the likes of Bird/Magic/MJ etc and even Kobe would've done to this clown during their primes.

Ben gets a ton of blame but I think the 76ers do to for not saying no and coddling the kid for yrs because the team was worried if he did become the player they thought he could be, then he'd leave them and they'd be screwed, This is a good reminder why Organizations run the the team and players play. Same with the Lakers/Lebron situation. Allow your guys input but final say comes from the big suits upstairs.

Overall the warning signs and big red flags about this guy were there for yrs. I got destroyed by a lot of people for saying this dude was a fraud too.

What exactly did they trade him for?  Next season?    What a little B.

They traded one team cancer for another. The only difference between Harden and Ben is Harden has somewhat of a jumper but he's on a huge decline. other then that team cancer is team cancer. Nets and Sixers just agreed to take the other ones trash for them

Buddy this thread has been laughing at Ben for 5 years now. He’s was in the thread title so much a few Philly fans threatened leaving lol. You aren’t breaking ground here.

Also Lebron can make GM calls because he is Lebron, and again, he’s brought every franchise he’s played for a title. Ben is just Ben.

Crazy

Pellies look like the hungrier and better team. Wouldn't be surprised if they wrapped this up in 6. I think Bridges finished 2nd in DROY voting. He's not the best defender in this series

Read something that Ben/LeGM/Clutch might be angling for a trade to the Lakers in the off-season.

Told ya! lol Herb is unreal! He's had at least 3 or 4 blocks just like that this year, coming out of nowhere to block 3pointers. Crazy hops and insane court awareness, he plays like a 10 year vet. I didn't follow him in college (Bama, :dry heave: ) but he sure is fun to watch and I'm glad he's on our team. Alvarado too!

I didn't check in after Friday's loss, bc well, I slept through the end of it and I kinda feel like I cost us the win (oh and CP3 god mode engaged, from what I read). :wall:  These late starts are killing me.   I will say Friday's game didn't seem to have the same energy (team-wise, I mean; the crowd was great) for whatever reason.  Jaxson Hayes deserved to get tossed from the game for his actions, but they were sure letting a lot of rough stuff go before that (both ways), still no excuse for his actions and hopefully he learned a lesson there. That's about the only thing I remember from my mental notes on Friday's game.

I did manage to stay up for the entire game last night though. Great win! B.I. is so good when he's in his zone. JV had himself a game too!  I don't keep up with the Suns other than the games we played against them. Is Crowder a big old ##### like that all the time?? SMH. Flopper extraordinaire.

Happy for the W. We know we can win in The Valley. This is going to be a hell of a series finish. I think it's going 7 now. There's still room on the bandwagon! FLOCK UP!

Pelicans are surprising.  They got some pieces and a lot of hunger/energy.
Regarding the team's relationship with potential N.O.-area fans, this team needs something to break right. There are a lot of potentially ardent Pelicans fans in New Orleans that now follow the team casually, not yet willing to wrap both arms around the franchise. The feeling is that the NBA's mechanisms work against 'second-tier franchises' and that even if the Pelicans develop a good young team, the pieces will all get snapped up by the next super-team forming in LA, NY, Miami, Boston, or wherever.

Hoping here that an unlikely first-round win against Phoenix will quash all the "Zion wants to leave!" rumors, make the young core want to stay, and that the Pelicans can do what the Spurs did and become a destination franchise for a while. Tall order in the 2020s NBA, I know.
