Did Elfrid Payton just run into Bertans like it was Game 7 of a realistic game, and not down 44 points with 5 minutes left? Bertans had some words. i think he said "#### off scrub and let us end the game without getting hurt."

Aaron Holiday closes the league with the most bush league #### I've ever seen. #### that guy too. Suns are sore losers in addition to whiny, floppy frontrunners. Good riddance.

was +2500 before the game. not taking bets at the moment. will let you know when they post a number.

edit

warriors +190

celtics +240

heat +450

suns/mavs off the board

I didn't think they were getting passed PHX in a Game 7 away but man did they make a statement.  I'd imagine them being just a bit behind Miami 500-650 range.

Doing the "list some contrarian thoughts to avoid groupthink" exercise again. I don't necessarily believe them, but it's an exercise we used to do on staff a lot.

  1. The Heat are the 1-seed for a reason - they defend as well, shoot better, and have a way better center in Bam than the Celtics have
  2. Steph Curry is still the best player on the floor in Mavs Warriors?
  3. Dallas is a better small ball team than the Warriors?
  4. Is Andrew Wiggins and underrated defender who could be the next up after Kawhi and PG against Luka?
  5. Klay is recovered, but will never be the same?
  6. The Warriors are about to get lit on fire from three and in the paint, can they hold Dallas under 115?
  7. Jimmy Butler is still the best player in the East and finals experience matters
  8. Tatum and Brown are the best remaining duo in the playoffs and Miami can only stop one of them at a time

Three years ago when he was All-Defense 1st Team, an All-Star, and All NBA 3rd team or 2 years ago when he was just All-Defense 1st Team and an All-Star?

Signs were there. the all defense team was more so sixers team defense he'll get exposed on any team that he has to fend on an island himself. They were already having issues with Ben not wanting too shoot then and the team was bending over backwards for him. He'd cry to Josh Harris any time Brown would try to get him to shoot or do other things. Sixers did a good job keeping things under wraps till Joel said #### I've had enough of this guy and called him out last year after the playoffs. So ben cried to his clutch team to get him out of Philly. Warning signs were there in college Jonathan Givoney pointed them out and many simple ignored him.

MIA vs BOS

Evenly matched teams. Going to be fun to watch. Going to be a great physical series. BOS in 7 because Tatum is best player in the series.

DAL vs GSW

This is the matchup I wanted as a Dubs fan as the Mavericks are not long and athletic like the Suns. It's going to be skill vs skill and the Dubs are just better IMO.

Wiggins should be good and strong enough to body Luka. Curry is taller than Brunson and Klay can handle Dinwiddie. Draymond will be able to play free safety since Mavs have no big man who's an offensive threat. Luka may get his, but the other guys will be contained.

The key to this series will be Jordan Poole. He'll need to score more than he gives up on the other end. The Mavs will work to get Poole on Luka, but again that'll take effort. On the flip side, Poole will be able to get his as part of the Warriors offense. Dallas has no one who can stay in front of Poole 1 on 1 and no shot blockers. It'll be a Poole Party all series.

Dubs in 6.

Cant believe i'll be rooting for Scrubs over Dubs, but i'm sold. i thought Dallas would come back to earth, that they couldnt keep up their reg season act in the postseason, like the Knicks last yr, and got a lucky draw against a Utah team that was already beating themselves. But they didnt just beat the Suns - they solved em. Coach Kidd atomized Phx's attack and neutralized it more each game til it was total pwnage by the end. All with one star and a buncha guys who would be scrambling for mins on any remaining playoff team and have the collective foot speed of the ATATs of Hoth.

And now they face a team without a plan. Golden State has been coasting, counting on getting hot often enough to push their savvy thru. They are facing precisely the kind of squad they dont wanna be doing that against and i've thrown my lot in with the scrubs. Go Mavs!

Dude, no.

I prefer both West teams over East by a considerable amount, but I win cool stuff from @Instinctive if the East wins. Nice little situation I put myself in here.

I'm more scared of the Celtics and Heat as a Warriors fan. Both those teams play tough defense and have the size, physicality, and athleticism to go along with being well coached.

Golden State Warriors+120

Boston Celtics+220

Miami Heat+425

Dallas Mavericks+650

So here is what is going to happen. Dallas will beat Golden State. I don't know how. I just know they will. Then they will take Boston or Miami to game 7 and lose. I know this because I bet on them.

Being real...I'm a little worried. Dallas's biggest weakness is a tendency to just start running the clock down 18 seconds and then an Iso horrible play for the entire time until they let the other team in and lose. Let's see if they stay focused.
I was surprised they didn't once try and milk the game clock by not touching the inbound.  PHX was just fallinng back after makes.

1 - The Suns were a number 1 seed too. It is hard to figure out the Heat and Warriors right now because their paths have been easy. I don't think the Heat defend better than the Celtics.

2. If he is this series is over in 5 or less, but I think Luka is the 1a in league right now. If you are starting a team tomorrow you are taking Luka or Giannis.

3. Maybe, it will be fun to watch.

4. Depends on which Wiggins shows up, I think the Warriors throw a lot of defenders at Luka.

5. Nope

6. If they want to win. Maybe father time is a Mavericks fan. He seemed to get Paul, now he goes after the Warriors.

7. Butler is a good player, but if the Heat win it will be a team effort. They don't have one player that is good enough to win a series.

8. I kind of agree with this.

This feels a lot like 2015 to me. We've got a team out west that was clearly the best in the league in the regular season, but neither the team nor any of the key players has won a title before, so everyone's looking for reasons to doubt them in the playoffs and pick someone else from a fairly wide-open field.

I think I might do what I did in 2015 and dump way too much money on a futures bet on said Western Conference team.

I would like to formally apologize to the 2014-15 Golden State Warriors for insulting them with this terrible comparison.

I really don’t understand why GS is favored by so much over Dallas.   Seems like easy money to bet on the Mavs.

I think Golden St. has a lot more mental toughness than Phoenix, so I don't see them crumbling like the Suns did yesterday. Luka is amazing, but it feels like he has carrier them farther already than he should have, so I think the Warriors take it. Plus, Charles Barkley picked the Mavs, and his picks are always wrong, so he just jinxed Dallas.

The Heat will win a game or two, but the Celtics will take the East.

Yeah.  Hard to see Golden State losing by 40-50 points in a playoff game ever……

GTFO with this take. Who the hell cares if Holiday shoots a meaningless three there. Boban should have chosen laughter over anger

Congrats to the Celtics fans on kicking the Bucks' asses yesterday.  Not gonna win many games when you shoot 12% from deep and the other team makes 18 more than you do.  I suspect that things would've been different if we'd had Middleton, but we'll never know.  Winning titles is 80% being good and 20% being lucky, and unfortunately luck wasn't on our side this year.

This morning I'm taking solace in (a) I just freed up 3-4 nights/week for the next several weeks, (b) I potentially saved myself a few thousand bucks that I would've spent on ECF/Finals tickets, (c) I don't have to risk getting shot in downtown Milwaukee, and (d) Chris Paul still isn't getting a ring.   :)

Hoping Luca and J-Kidd can get it done in the West, and hoping for an asteroid in the East but expecting that Boston will get it done.

Do you think they’ll keep Portis? I assume he opts out to get a better payday. I can’t imagine he’ll play on a bargain contract for another year.

If they handle GS, you can always hedge and lock in some profits.  Nice bet!

He'll definitely opt out, but I do think he stays.  He loves Milwaukee, and Milwaukee loves him.  Bucks have his Bird Rights, so they can pay him whatever they want; it's just a matter of how deep into the tax the owners are willing to go.  I suspect that some kind of handshake agreement was made last summer when he signed that below-market deal.  Frankly, I think it's more likely they get rid of Brook than Bobby.  He's not getting any younger, and that $14M expiring contract might be attractive to somebody.

Yeah, almost seems like a fools bet with Dallas winning 3-1 in the regular season.  Assuming it has a lot to do with GS finally being healthy in addition to experience and home court.

It's etiquette.  Shot clock is off both teams lay off and and we go home.  Second time PHX pulled this BS in this series.
Meh. I get that it is etiquette but it is dumb. Some of these dudes never get to play and I know I for sure would like to tell my grandkids that I scored a (meaningless) basket in game seven of a playoff series.

Yeah, it’s a luxury tax issue. I was wondering how deep they’d be willing to go. His market value is at least $15 million a year.

Curry <= Luka

Klay > Brunson

Wiggins > Bullock

Draymond > Finney Smith

Looney = Powell

Poole > Dinwiddie

I think people are underestimating how good Memphis is. This series will be closer to the Denver series than the Memphis one for the Dubs.

I think Kuminga will see some time on Luka.  Porter Jr. will also bey a key contributor.

Just an embarrassing performance by Suns. Amazing the difference in confidence between the two teams. FOR THE ENTIRE GAME :lmao:   Great team defense by the Mavs

Thrilled for the Celtics. Awesome that they stuck with and built around Brown/Oubre . Wasn't betting against the Bucks until I saw someone actually beat Giannis.

At least 15 million a year? That's crazy talk. He will be fortunate to get the full MLE from someone.
He won't get $15M, but he'll get more than the taxpayer MLE ($6.34M).  My guess is he opts out and then re-signs with the Bucks for 3/$30M or something like that.
