*** 2021/22 Stanley Cup NHL Thread **** Congrats 2022 Avs Cup Champs! (1 Viewer)

Some Denver locals. Since the Avs have underperformed in the past and the way they finished the regular season a few talking heads where talking.
Long way to go. Nashville is cooked without their goalie. Immediate reaction to first games is Col vs Sutter-led Cal could be fun.

what was with all of the standing water on the MSG ice last night between periods? Is their zamboni malfunctioning? I could see if they were in a warm humid climate like Sunrise but wasn't NYC in the 50s at gametime?

can’t wait until tomorrow when I tune in and they’re discussing the final score as they drop the opening faceoff
:lmao:

Maybe it's your AOL dial up that needs upgrading?

I'm watching both games and the Angel/Red Sox game on my computer and not having an issue.

Edmonton was outplayed by LA last night. They looked like the better organized and well coached team.

I know nothing about hockey, but eyeball test tells me the wrong team was favored.  LA in 5.
This isn't going to age well.  :D

Will never take for granted that I got to watch Makar do that an hour from my house for two seasons.

Nice game from Vatrano tonight, too.

Wow, over a day with no posts in the playoff hockey thread in the first week of the postseason?  That is unheard of.

Anyway, the Blues are toast.  Blues/Wild was gonna be a nail-biter anyway, but with three of their defensemen out, the Blues have no chance. The Wild had more odd man rushes than I could count last night.  The Wild are too good and too on fire to beat when shorthanded like that.

@Peter_Baugh: Jared Bednar on Darcy Kuemper: "We'll get him further evaluated. He's got some swelling there." He said it's not too serious and he's a possibility for Game 4.

@SethRorabaugh: Igor Shesterkin has been pulled - potentially for humanitarian concerns - in favor of Alexandar Georgiev.

@MolinariPGH: NHL apparently will change the Penguins' first goal from Carter to Rodrigues, which means Rodrigues will have recorded a natural hat trick, as pretty much everyone predicted an hour or so ago.

@Real_RobRossi: Correction: Rodrigues won’t have hat trick as goal remains Carter’s (decision made in Toronto).

At times Rodrigues looks sublime.  At others, it seems if he's not sure which end of the stick to hold.  He's got the right end tonight.
