2021 College football thread - Auburn’s gotta Auburn. (2 Viewers)

Big sigh of relief from ND admin to get to charge fans for next week’s thriller against Toledo on Peacock Premium lol.

Youth today need more John McKay...but of course Kelly is getting some press pfor his comment.

His delivery was awful and the wording came out such that nobody knew if he was serious.

Now if Dabo tried it, the delivery and wording would be better and people would be laughing.

ETA - If Jimbo tried it, it might be okay but he'd get another raise out of it anyway.

Fun game last night down the stretch. Thought Tess was a little over the top, but I’ll be pulling for FSU while Milton is in there for sure.

Alabama looked OK. lol Losing Allen sucks hard. Was hoping all summer we would get to see Anderson mauling people with him for a full season.

You serious, Clark?  No one knew if he really wanted his entire team murdered or not?

@ToddFuhrman: Joaquin Niemann played 18 holes in the tour championship in less time than it will take to complete this 1st half #OleMissvsLouisville

watched a d3 game in person yesterday.

first half was over in just under 40 minutes. amazing.
I was watching my alma mater play on line while watching PSU - Wisconsin.  Despite starting an hour later, my alma mater's game finished up about 10 minutes after the Penn State game.  D3 is awesome.

My favorite ND fan is definitely @Jayded.  Dude is not the typical Domer honk, overhyping the Irish and leaning into the glory days like a Steelers fan.  My man, you are real about your team and it's cool to see.

Boy, that Pac-12 North is really something.  How we feeling about that undefeated UWash team now?  Yikes.  7 points scored.  Against Montana.  At home.  Good golly.

Not to be outdone, Washington State lost to Utah State.  Cal lost to Nevada.  Oregon State was dreadful against Purdue.  And really, Oregon could have easily lost that game to Fresno.  Ugly.  We waited all summer long for this????  Jeezam.

It may be up to the sissy blue shirts to redeem the PAC-12 this year.

Could be wrong but I think he meant cut-offs.
No...tops, dresses, etc with holes cut in by the owner. They’ll buy something cheap at WM etc and design their own...typically with one goal at least of showing off what’s underneath.

Tennis skirts are also on fire.

If I had just one word to describe the Autzen Stadium experience on Saturday at 11am I think I'm going to with.....suffering.

Air quality in Eugene at kick-off:  164 (that's not good).  Heat trapped in that layer of smoke like a thick blanket.  Nothing in the way of a breeze.  45,000 humans and I think maybe 7 concession workers total?  I get it, COVID - but I got done watching the Woodstock '99 doc and there were some similarities.  Water fountains shut off, hour long line to get any food or drinks, nobody directing traffic, ran out of beer, confused people looking around for anybody to help them....it sucked.  We bailed early in the 2nd quarter and watched the game at a pizza joint.  Much better experience.  My 6 year old son was all too ready to go and so was I.

Usually the Ducks send out a survey after the game "Say, how was your experience?  Rate us please!".  No survey this go-around.  I think I know why.....

I expect the Ducks to put up a good show against the Buckeyes this Saturday. Of course the key will be not to look past Ohio State, what with Stony Brook on the horizon…

They aren't putting up a good show with that offense.  Egads.

And no, I am NOT buying that they didn't want to showcase too much against Fresno St. to offer some big reveal.  That was doodoo.  Fresno should have won that game.

I started this on another thread, but I'm going to go ahead & give out my Top 20 for this year.  Remember, championship and bowl games not included in regular-season record.

1. Alabama (12-0)

2. Ohio State (12-0)

3. Georgia (12-0)

4. Clemson (11-1; only loss is to Georgia)

5. Oklahoma (12-0)

6. Cincinnati (12-0)

7. Iowa State (11-1; only loss is to Oklahoma)

8. Wisconsin (12-0)

9. USC (12-0)

10. Texas A&M (11-1; only loss is to Alabama)

11. Notre Dame (10-2; losses to Wisconsin & Cincinnati)

12. Washington (12-0)

13. North Carolina (11-1; only loss is to Notre Dame)

14. Indiana (10-2; losses to Cincinnati & Ohio State)

15. Miami (FL) (10-2; losses to Alabama & North Carolina)

16. Iowa (9-3; losses to Indiana, Iowa State & Wisconsin)

17. Oregon (10-2; losses to Ohio State & Washington)

18. Florida (10-2; losses to Alabama & Georgia)

19. Penn State (8-4; losses to Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa & Ohio State)

20. Coastal Carolina (12-0)
First four held up okay, you got Clemson losing to Georgia correct.  Well done.

OU escaped with a win, Iowa State got by the ever pesky UNI Panthers (I assume that stands for University of North Iowa, but I don't know that).  Cincy was impressive, nice call there.

Oh dear.....Wisconsin. :(

A&M won an easy one.  ND got by.  They look more like a 3 loss team to me, but we'll see.

Washington.  :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Jimmy Lake better be renting.

UNC and Indiana got spanked.  Miami was never up to the task, not that anybody really is.  Iowa might be better than we all thought.  Oregon sucks.  Florida wasn't impressive.  Penn State was.  And Coastal Carolina , take a bow!  If they were in the Pac-12, they'd be conference champs this year.

As long as they don't face UCLA, who needs to be in your top 20 now.

Some huge week 1 overreactions in here.  Iowa State and Oregon are great teams and will bounce back strong.  Oregon will win the PAC 12 again this year and Iowa State may will overtake Oklahoma this year.

Great?  Oh, I dunno about that.  At least for Oregon.  Did we watch the same game?  Their best player was name Tom Snee.  They are going to lose by 30 to Ohio State.

And yeah, they might could still win the Pac 12.  That would be very on brand of them and the conference.

I was disappointed with the Oregon game as well Saturday but felt better after watching the replay.  Offense will improve a lot going forward as they add new RPO plays.  Several times a lineman simply missed a block so execution was off.  Not a fan of Brown and I think Thompson should start against Stoney Brook if Brown struggles again.

If Thibs plays Oregon covers the spread at Ohio State and 20% they win.  OSU has issues as well.

I like your optimism, sir!

The OL was a big worry coming in and I don't see that magically getting any better, at least not in a week's time.  Agree on Brown; very pedestrian.  Although he did have heroics at the end.  Thibs and Flowe were fun to watch.

Having 2 starters in the secondary back this week will help the pass defense.  KT is key for a pass rush though so need him healthy.  I honestly would bet the under in this game if anything.
