2021 College football thread - Auburn’s gotta Auburn. (3 Viewers)

I am surprised people think Cincinnati will make it. I'll be really surprised if that happens.

This is NOT a comment on whether they deserve to make it.

It's entirely possible especially if OU stumbles.  The Big10 might cannibalize itself too.  So if Cincy is undefeated, it's not out of the question that they'll get a spot.

Its not. And they probably deserve a spot. But I just find it hard to believe the power 5 conferences are going to give up a spot to them. But maybe.

Feel free to make your prediction
I will but if you think Oregon is playoff worthy, I just don't think you're watching the same team I am.  The team's best RB is done for the year, the defense has been decimated by injuries and the QB play is, well, not very good.  It's certainly not consistent.  Do you think Anthony Brown is a playoff caliber QB?  I sure don't.  Plus, the Pac12 is a horrendous conference, no team from this group of schools has any business being in the playoff discussion.

I'll just echo Stewart Mandel with my prediction since he's paid to do this:

1. Georgia vs 4 Cincy
2. OU vs 3. Michigan State*

*This could be Iowa, Michigan or my bet to come out of this Big10 - Ohio State.

Whatever the case, I just hope there is mass chaos and we move closer and closer to a 12 team playoff so a Cincy or whatever G5 school will finally get an automatic seat at the big boys' table.

Well, 4 teams will get in and other than Georgia I don't see a dominant team.  I think the Big 10 is way overrated like I did for basketball.  Oregon has been crushed by injuries and they have some guys returning now.  I agree Brown is awful and if they don't go to their highly rated young QB this week it may be too late.  We will see.

Oregon has a shot bc of that dominant road win at Ohio. That’s going to be the most impressive win any contender has this year by a substantial amount. They obviously have to win out, doubt they do, but if so I’d suspect they are in.

I'd like to share your optimism, but this team would be the 5th best team in the SEC and outside of the Ohio State victory, doesn't have a whole lot to be proud of.  Should have lost to Fresno State, looked sloppy against Arizona and got beat by a very mediocre Stanford team.  Even Stony Brook was closer than it should have been.

We'll see.  Vardell loss is a big one.

Shaming others makes some people temporarily forget how miserable and pathetic their own lives are.

I do understand the TMZation of our world today, but why should she be shamed or feel ashamed?  She's not married, she was at a club, a rich old dude was paying her attention and she gobbled it up.  She should lean into it and make some films.

She shouldn't feel ashamed, and I agree that she should monetize this quickly and in any way she sees fit...

Without Verdell and with Brown at QB there's no chance Oregon wins out.
Verdell is good but I am not concerned at all at RB as Dye is solid and the freshman RBs all have great potential.  Brown is my concern and more so Cristobal stubborness to bench him.

A local college is getting a new name. http://Clarion University to become Pennsylvania Western University - Clarion.  The school will combine with California University of PA and Edinboro University to form the mega school.

Are they eligible now to get paid half a million dollars to get curb stomped by an SEC team?  :oldunsure:

I used to live about 20 minutes from Clarion. The locals will have nothing to do with this big change!

Seeing Dabo turn back into Dabo 5 minutes after he doesn’t have a hall of fame QB has certainly been the highlight of the season for me so far.

Texas fails to get a first down on five straight drives and should lose their third. Almost like hiring a .500 head coach wasn't the best idea.

Interesting call.  Ok state goes up 7 and opts to kick the xp rather than go for 2.

It won't matter because Texas sucks so bad but that seems like a 99% go for two situation no?
