2022 NBA Roster Draft - This draft goes to 12! (2 Viewers)

5.01 - C Nikola Vucevic, CHI - another guy who is a key cog in his team's success, the Bulls are NOT a top team in the East without Vuc.
The last remaining 2021 All-Star Game participant to be drafted.

Looked a Vuc a lot with my last pick. His stats are down a decent amount this year, and I thought his rep was not being super great on defense, but admittedly haven't watched hardly any Bulls this year.

Still a great pick at this point in the draft.

presently being exposed to picks that leave him mismatched on D, but that's only cuz his teammates are not good enough defenders (just as Gobert's team aint big enough) to counter. he was a top 20 pick (disclaimer) this fall

PG   De'Aaron Fox

G      Devonte' Graham

SF     Kevin Porter Jr

PF     Jayson Tatum

C      Domantas Sabonis

His poor shooting has really hurt the Bulls in several games.  It’s been bad so consistently it is hard to just call it a “slump” anymore.

He’s certainly a limited defender. He has size, though, good hands, and is a smart. He can move a little bit.

I've got arguably a better group around Vucevic than even the Bulls do with Mitchell, George, Siakam and Brunson.  The combined usages among the starting five is 138%, so they will all be taking fewer shots than they do on their current teams.  Vuc will be touching the ball less than the rest.  His career shooting and scoring numbers are all better than what he has done so far this year.  But as long as he can body up the other teams big and rebound like he always does, any offensive production will be gravy.

What if the defense doesn’t follow them out there?
They drain open shots.  My four will all have a good outside shot.  I very rarely see ANYONE left open in the NBA.  They even covered Rondo and Kidd before they learned to shoot....a lil.

5.03 Seth Curry G

Not sure if he'll be a starter or 6th man, but either way, he is the best active 3 point shooter in the NBA at over 44%. He's got some decent of the bounce game and can run a pick and roll, and his defense isn't an issue with my front court.

Kicked around the idea of taking him at the point instead of Brunson.  He's really an undersized 2-guard instead of a PG and would be amazing as a 6th man.

He's definitely more of a shooting guard but he's definitely a capable#2 ball handler. With him, McCollum, and Green I should have enough pg skills to make it work.

He would have made a nice fit here for me also.  Give me a few.

I would definitely go with Brunson at point over curry.

curry definitely provides a lot value, but really cant run point

Looking at your team, your offense will run best through Draymond.  Curry, Barnes and McCollum are all better shooters than distributors.

My thoughts exactly.  My engine needed a conductor and Brunson was the only good one left.  I just really love Curry's shooting.  Brunson shot over 40% from 3 last season, but is only shooting at 33% this season.

4.14 - Derrick White

Need a cromulent defensive guard next to Dame and White gives us that with some more size, speed and a little bit of creation ability to run some backup units as the PG.

@scoobus
This was my other guy with Bane and Royce. Was a tough decision for me, a ball handler vs a low usage guy with significantly better defense. Errd on the latter with KD's ability with the ball.

I have been passing up Brunson despite my Mavs fandom because I've seen like 35 of the Mavs games and while he sometimes gets a few assists, I pretty much always come away thinking he's basically a smaller Lou Williams in a lot of ways. He's not great on D, and he's a steady presence who does a good job getting to the basket and making the open plays. I don't want to minimize that. But he just doesn't feel like a top 30-ish PG to me and I'm gonna be sad if the Mavs pay him like it.

5.04 Cade Cunningham SG/SF

We may end up using him as a sixth man, and this may be a reach, but after a slow start, he is ON FIRE of late and doing it all.  We especially needed a little bit of explosiveness on the roster, and he certainly brings that. He had a 25-5-5 game this week and is big and athletic at 6'7. He's versatile offensively, but a pick and roll technician always.  Although not known as an elite defender yet, he does have the elite basketball IQ that we love.  I feel good about this one.

Aren’t you supposed to be drafting?
I haven't drafted yet while a Celtics game was on.  You're welcome.

There were two others I was debating.  One is just not playing very good defense, and he is in a bit of a cold streak offensively after a hot start.  The second guy I may get later.  Plenty of talent out there still.

I haven't seen him nearly that many times, but every time I've caught a Mavericks game he stands out as a guy who just gets stuff done. He's not an electric scorer but he's steady. He's not a great passer but he's a good one. He's not a great defender but he's a good one. I think he's perfect for what my team needs, just a steady guy he's going to give you something positive every single night. There's a lot to be said about that in a league full of inconsistent performers.

There's a few players kind of sticking out to me here. This guy won't answer every last question remaining for my roster, but he does emphasize some current strengths.

5.05: Bojan Bogdanović, forward, Utah
