Man, its such a gamble to wait on Rodgers. I get it.
But it just feels like Carr would leave them just a LITTLE short....even if he played really well (for him)
I cant imagine Carr moving that quickly - I figure it will be a week but you never know. Personally I want Rodgers but if Carr is pushing for a deal now and they are not able to wait until A-Rod takes his "trip" - I sign Carr. The fact that Arod has to go through this to even commit to playing 1 more year throws a bunch of flags - never mind the big comp it will take to get him.Jets offering Carr a contract tonight?

Jets QB literally couldnt complete the simplest of passes - Carr would be a massive upgrade.

There’s that plus his cold weather game struggles plus his lack of killer instinct on the field, which could surely make him another bust Jets QB. The saving grace is now no assets would need to be given up for him.Carr would be an upgrade without a doubt, but he seems way too sensitive for the NY media jackals

All those negatives and he’s still probably the second most attractive QB on the market. There’s a reason stud QBs don’t make it to the open market often.
We all kind of got excited about replacing Zac with a veteran. The wind is starting to leave those sales seeing what’s out there.
Unfortunately, that's perhaps the most important "other than" in all of sports. They definitely all have warts and the possibility of imploding in NY. If anything, that just tells us how bad our QB situation is after blowing the #2 overall pick. As opposed to in the past, at least we have a pretty good team other than the QB position.
Tannehill to the jets talk heating up but it doesn’t make sense unless they know (or are just exploring options) Carr goes to NO and Rodgers stays in place.
On the titans side that scares me a little because it could mean either Rodgers, Lance, a rookie or scrap the season and hope for next year. It wouldn’t make sense imo for the jets to trade for tanny and carr sign in Tennessee unless Carr really prefers Nashvilleseems like a stretch.

I think the Jets would consider him if he is cut and their top 2-3 options are out.
That rumor yesterday by Titans Rossi sounded like complete bs. If there is one thing that JD does well, it's making trades. Just sounds completely unlikely of him to give up 2 draft picks and pay for Tannehill's base salary (something like $27m or something like that) for a guy that may get cut and who there are similar if not better options out there for free
Sounds like Twitter clicks knowing that the Jets are looking for a vet QB. The poor Titans fans in the comments section looking for the 13th pick plus another one for Tannehill. Lol. Come one people. It was Valentine's Day, not April Fools.
These poor Titans fans think otherwise after this Tweet. Some online think they will get a first and third rounder now. It's hilarious. They would be lucky to get a 6th rounder from anyone.Trading for Tannehill makes as much sense as trading for Carr would have.
If Tennessee is willing trade him they are willing to cut him. It's just poker.

NBC Sports' Peter King believes the Jets could "seriously consider" trading for Lamar Jackson if they're unable to acquire Aaron Rodgers.
In an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, King said he believes the Jets' preferred option would be to trade for Rodgers. However, if they're unable to land Rodgers, he believes the next push could be for Jackson, whose future with the Ravens remains uncertain at best. Jackson and the Ravens are reportedly $100 million apart in contract negotiations, which could result in the team franchise tagging him for 2023. King also notes that if the Ravens do tag Jackson, they may opt for the non-exclusive franchise tag, which would allow other teams to negotiate a deal with Jackson in exchange for two first-round draft picks should the Ravens not match the offer.
I’m seriously considering winning the lottery.“seriously consider” is such an empty statement.
First off it’s Peter King “believes” (based on what exactly?)…I’m seriously considering winning the lottery.“seriously consider” is such an empty statement.
Sorta like how everyone says the Jets are all-in on Aaron Rodgers.First off it’s Peter King “believes” (based on what exactly?)…I’m seriously considering winning the lottery.“seriously consider” is such an empty statement.
I just never thought Jackson was a realistic option.
So am I. I like money.I’m seriously considering winning the lottery.“seriously consider” is such an empty statement.
A few Jets beat writers reporting it as well - Connor Hughes for one.Carr coming in for a visit this weekend. Broken by the national reporters. Jets beat as usual knows nothing. It's a joke whenever they speculate.
I don't believe in Carr as a guy that can elevate the offense, much like Jimmy G, but with the weapons they have and the supporting defense, he probably doesn't have to.Here we go - while Arod is tripping there is a chance the Jets dont let Carr out of the complex this weekend. Again Id prefer Arod but if by waiting for him risks losing Carr Id just sign Carr. Longer term solution, no draft capital, still massive upgrade - he would need to elevate his game to make a super bowl run but if they add more pieces I can see it.

At this point, I hope Carr is a Jet by the time Rodgers sees sunlight, but I don't really believe Carr is singing with anyone right away. He has a full month head start, why not use it?Here we go - while Arod is tripping there is a chance the Jets dont let Carr out of the complex this weekend. only way I can see is he really wants the Jets and its a chance to sneak in before A-Rod makes his decision. At this point, I hope Carr is a Jet by the time Rodgers sees sunlight, but I don't really believe Carr is singing with anyone right away. Carr all smiles at lunch in North Jersey Italian restaurant.

Got me wondering they would take Rodgers for lunch/dinner.
The leaks out of the Carr dinner is that it went really well.

For you Jets folks, what's your percent chance you think today Carr signs with the Jets?
Is the narrative that Carr can’t play in cold weather merely small sample size/BS -or- is there something more substantial there?
I expect him to meet with other teams since he has a month head start. I’d say very low, maybe 4%.For you Jets folks, what's your percent chance you think today Carr signs with the Jets?

"The California native turns into a pumpkin whenever the temperature drops. Carr owns a positive Expected Points Added per play in his career when it's warmer than 40 degrees, but dips into the negative as it gets colder. Per Paul Dehner Jr., Carr is 0-5 in games where the temperature was 37 degrees or less at kickoff. Today's game in Cincinnati will be a brisk one, kicking off in the low 30s. To compound matters for the Raiders QB, a key component to hitting prop overs is staying on the field. Las Vegas ranks 22nd in third-down conversion rate, converting just 37.4% of the time."
His team has never scored over 17 points when the temp is less than 37. He's never thrown more than one touchdown in those games. He's now 0-7 with the Pittsburgh game this year, which was a horrible game by Carr.
I'm not a Carr advocate, but I would like to see relative stats.
I'm guessing he sits in a bucket of ice water. There is no update on whether we know what he does in the dark.

I was going for a Fall Out Boy lyric, but this will do. It was just in my head.

Groans. I'm not sure I want that earworm. Here we go. I should be really careful lest somebody consider me a Fall Out Boy aficionado.
That might be a very definite possibility.“seriously consider” is such an empty statement.
