Definitely makes it more interesting for the draft - I really think Edge and WR are coming into focus at #4/10

This draft is pretty deep at WR so I'd still rather have Lindebaum at 10 - but would not be upset with a top WR. It will be nice to finally see the o-line as a plus.

Lindebaum would be a great pick - OL would be big time. I wont be complaining.
JD did a very good job of filling holes in FA so there is no gaping need going into the draft - these 4 premium picks really will help - this team should be highly improved.

Outstanding job on paper thus far, as has been echoed by everybody. We're already much better without even adding these 4 premium picks. There's part of me that would love a trade down to somehow snag a 1st for next year in case we need to make a move at QB. I think Doc said it upthread - JD, to his credit, is seemingly not leaving any stones unturned in giving Wilson the supporting cast to allow them to definitively evaluate if he is the guy or not. Would be nice to have flexibility for next season 'just in case.'

Would love this scenario as well. Edge + trade down for Linderbaum, and then we could easily move back into the late 1st if there was a WR that feel that we couldn't wait for. Part of me still wants Ickey at 4 if he's there - just go full overkill on the O line lol

Jets only had him for part of the season after he was released by Washington, but he did a solid job and seemed like a solid pro. I wouldn't have been against the Jets bringing him back but they did upgrade instead.

He was perfectly solid last year. The Jets wanted him on a multi year deal but he elected to take a 1 year and prove himself. Seems like it worked out for him.
Not an expert on o line play, but he seems like a slightly above average starter. You didn't hear his name too much (probably a good thing for a tackle) and he was forced to cover for abysmal RG Greg van roten last year.
Solid guy that I would have gladly taken back (given the uncertainty with becton)

RB Tevin Coleman (1 year)...maybe he makes the roster and maybe he doesn't, 1 year no big deal

-I would have loved to see Miami steal him away from y'all.
Bengals TE C.J. Uzomah (3 years, $24 million)
-Not sure he is worth this much but he's looked good especially in 2021 but you're investing and building around the QB so that's always a good thing. It's a the market rate for a decent TE, you can look elsewhere in the Draft.

-Wish Miami had gotten him but we got Connor Williams on a 2yr/$14M deal.

I've posted quite a lot about the moves you all have made so far, and being.a Division rival I'm not what we could call unbiased but I have to say if it were up to me to assign a grade so far in free agency for the J-E-T-Ssheerterror said:
"B+/A-" You all needed some serious help in that Secondary and I don't think you are done, Draft is loaded. I wholeheartedly agree that trading down and perhaps adding another selection either a future 1st or perhaps that 10 pick can slide down to Pittsburgh wanting their QB and you get 20-52 and a 2nd next year, maybe that's not quite enough but you gain a Top 50 pick in the sweet spot of the Draft. You all are in play for this beast Jordan Love even if DT isn't a position of need. DBs and Safeties await, you have Edge guys all over the 1st round. You're in a good spot.

Like I said a few days ago, Conklin is a solid short area guy that can be a nice safety blanket for Zach. They still need to add a rookie or veteran WR, but right now the team is set up to see if Wilson is the real deal or not. Hopefully he is.

Very happy with the Conklin signing - guy is a solid #1 for this team let alone #2 - JEts have never had 2 TEs of this caliber. Grab a big time WR in the draft and the O is all set. JD has done everything possible to set up Wilson to succeed. Now its up to the kid.

I'd love to see OL or EDGE at four and WR1 at ten, but I think it's going to be defense at both. Joe Douglas talked recently about how improving on defense will help Zach Wilson, which I completely disagree with, but that's the way the organization seems to be going. Would be nice to see one of the first-round picks be on the offensive line (yes, again. All we did was replace a guy who left.) but there are only so many picks we have and only so much one can do with those four premium picks.
EDGE, OL, WR, CB doesn't seem out of the question, really. The question is when each one goes. TE is set. No need for that to be silly and have it keep people up at night. LBs are a dime a dozen and are all over the NFL right now. Premium positions, premium picks.
Dream scenario: Somebody wants to move up to four and we're able to snag an extra first-round pick at the bottom of the round or one in the first and one at the beginning of the second. Like Detroit or Philadelphia with their extra picks. I doubt that happens, but we will see. Seattle would be a good candidate should they want to move up for a QB. Let's hope Willis's stock rises from now until draft day.

very concerning - for over a decade it was Brady and the Pats crushing the AFC East....now Buffalo is not as good as NE in its prime but its a very good team to get a division title over. Then add the monster stacked AFC West - its going to be a tall order to make a playoff run. Only hope is that division beats each other up all year and out of gas in the playoffs!
Jets are set up in best shape since the Rex run....but it all falls on Wilson. The kid needs to improve big time to survive in this brutal conference.

Yes. If Wilson is the real deal, then the Jets can compete.
The AFC West is a monster - but like you said they will eat their own.
You have the Bengals and Baltimore in the North as true contenders - and can't really count out Pitts or Cleveland yet.
Each team in the East seems to have gotten better (on paper) as well. The Jets could improve tremendously and only win five games - but lets at least see the improvement before we worry about that, I suppose.

Glad to see some high level hype at the Willis pro day today. He made a similar throw to the one that wow'd everyone at Wilson's pro day last year (which to me...is just so silly, but whatever).
Hopefully someone fancies a trade up.
Latest Kiper mock has the Jets taking Drake London at 4. Its clearly silly season at this point. Too much time between the end of the season and the draft so the "experts" have to change things up every mock to keep people interested. I'm sure London is a fine player, but if you're taking a WR at 4, he needs to be a no doubt about it stud. This kid was in the 20's like a month ago.
Hopefully someone fancies a trade up.

I am intrigued by London - reminds me of Evans which would be a huge boost for Wilson. He does seem lumbering at times tho so Id rather get him at 10 than 4. Gotta be a big time stud like Chase to go that high.

Id be fine with any of those "premium" positions - just dont see what they would do with an OL pick. Where would they play him? Would have to be really down on Becton to draft an OL after FA.
As for CB - Im diggin Sauce but Ive read and seen how little Saleh values CBs. I keep coming back to trade down at #4 to a QB needy team - then Edge/WR later unless they love one of the Edges at #4

As much as I REALLY like Sauce Gardner, Taking a CB in the first sort of feels like overkill to me. I know there are some rumblings that they dont love Bryce Hall, but he seems like a perfectly capable CB2 to me. They just signed Reed and Both Michael Carter 2 and Echols seemed like solid rookie performers last year.
To me, WR at 10 seems very likely. 4 could be Hamilton, an edge or I guess a tackle (although if that's the case, I think you have try and flip Fant for SOMETHING)

Didn't they basically announce a camp competition with Fant and Becton? I mean, sure coaches have to say that, but they don't usually go out of their way to make it a point. They're for sure a little leery of Becton's long-term prospects.

Well its technically a competition for LT - Becton would have to win it back...but its clear both are starters. Both are too good to be benched so I doubt they draft OL that early unless they are really down on Becton which is possible.

But point taken. They've improved their line. The only thing I can think of is that they're not totally done with it. Moses is gone from RT. Why wouldn't you look to improve it at that draft position?

Before the combine, I think Joe Douglas was having trouble trying to keep it close to the vest about Treylon Burks. I find it hard to believe London ascends that highly in the draft. Like TLEF said, silly season is upon us. Drake London isn't even doing his university's pro day. He's doing a private one in April. There's been no athletic testing otherwise.
That would be a staggering reach.

Burks or Wilson, I could get excited about. I like London but just don’t think he’s a guy that’s worth the draft slot. Those other guys have more star potential imo.

Absolutely. Only two things: Wilson's BMI is under 26, and that's still, believe it or not, an indicator of success at the pro level. And Burks didn't test off the charts.
But both are at least intriguing. Drake London is not, IMO. I don't hate the guy, I just don't want him in dynasty and don't want the Jets sniffing around with the intent to take him.
Unless, of course, they know what I don't (and they do know what I don't, so...).
Just my preference to stay away from him at four. A strong preference, actually.

Yeah I’m enamored but Wilson’s “film” - I haven’t delved deep into his measurements so thanks.
I know Burkes didn’t test great but he pops on film.
If they wait until Round 2, I like Pickens.

Im no draft guru but at glance it seems that the WR position is more deep than stars at the top like last year. They could easily trade down or just wait until the 2d rd like last year where it looks like they stole Elijah. I think we all agree they need one more weapon for Wilson - just a matter of where in the early draft.
As for the OL - I get it re losing Moses but remember they signed when Fant was an unkown last year and he was cheap depth. Fant more than held his own and he doesnt have a ton of tread on him - I can see him being extended. So that leaves Becton - unless hes a mess behind the scenes I cant see JD using a high pick for depth/start next yr. When it was being projected there was an open Guard slot to play the new rook before swinging him out to T the following year. I still can see OL as JD rightly values the position (unlike past few GMS) - but more of a 3rd rounder that can develop next year and give depth/insurance if Fant asks for a ton of $ or Becton flames out.

Watching the Baker situation makes me very happy JD made the tough call while there was still unknowns and Sam had the illusion of still being a franchise QB - huge win getting a few picks including a high 2d rder while avoiding guaranteeing that 5th yr contract that is handcuffing Carolina - Cleveland now facing possibly cutting a #1 overall pick from 4 yrs ago and eating $18M, trading him for way less than JEts got for Sam - or even having to include a pick to get a team to trade for him. I know GMs are usually tied to QBs but I am loving JD and want to keep him long term even if Wilson isnt the next top QB. The guy has done a very good job with what he has been given.

I've seen recent pictures of Becton working out recently - he looks to be in great shape, even looked "slim". It's odd that after one season where he's injured, people are throwing him on the scrap heap. He wasn't great as a pass blocker as a rookie (but was solid enough for a rookie) but was devastating as a run blocker. Gore was 75 years old but still effective running behind Becton.
