surprising to see Vegas with the 2nd most players taken.

based on this list from NHL.com, these were top-100 players not taken (I think):

Eriksson Ek, MIN
Horvat, NYI
Ehlers, WPG
Doughty, LAK
Dobson, NYI
K.Miller, NYR
L.Hughes, NJD
Barzal, NYI
Ekblad, FLA
Teravainen, CAR
Girard, COL
Bunting, TOR

I also thought Evan Rodrigues may be a sneaky pick if he sticks on the top line in Colorado.

goalies that went undrafted:
FLA, LAK, WPG, SEA, MIN, NYI

players taken by series:
NYR/NJD: 21
BOS/FLA: 20
VGK/WPG: 16
EDM/LAK: 15
TOR/TBL: 15
COL/SEA: 13
DAL/MIN: 13
CAR/NYI: 7

i decided to take only bruins in the east and then committed to dallas after the avalanche goaler was taken before me. to hedge, i found that vgk had some decent options available late. got sniped on stone round 11, he could be sneaky good if his back doesn’t break. i mean, they won 51 games somehow.

Can the losers from the regular season pay the people I lost too please for my bet? Can the winners reply to this please?

I might have missed it in the rules … how many points do you get when one of your players get suspended for knocking one of your other players out of the series?
I also forgot to mention that another one of my players got escorted from his team hotel on the day of a game and no one knows where the hell he is. I should get Chet or Cav money just for the creativity.

wish i got mark stone in round 10, but dadonov is doing ok.

i didnt see myself having 9 players advance and not the bruins, as of yet.

Best pick (so far): 4.03 Chem X / Roope Hintz / F / DAL
Hintz with 29 in the 1st round edges out Draisaitl who was taken in the 1st.

Worst pick: 3.04 Thorn / Hampus Lindholm / D / BOS with a 0.00
Timo Meier also with the goose egg, but still has time to rectify.

Really tight at the top, but weird. Chem X has 9 players left, but all from the West. Brasky with 8, all from the East.

I've have to imagine there were a lot of happy people last night when the Devils knocked the Rangers out. Otherwise, I'd have advanced 12.

Here's what has to happen to maximize each of our chances to have players in the final (and how many players that would be):
Chem X = 6 (Stars)
Cav = 4 (any combination of 2 each from Oilers/Stars and Panthers/Hurricanes)
Brasky = 4 (Leafs)
kupcho1 = 5 (Oilers)
Rudnicki = 3 (2 from Leafs/Panthers and 1 from either Stars or Kraken)
Thorn = 2 (Golden Knights)
Dickie Dunn = 7 (Devils v Kraken)
Zegras11 = 6 (Oilers v Devils)
Awmars1269 = 3 (Hurricanes v Kraken)

I think my chances are slim as they rely on a Kraken 4 shutout sweep. :D

Gotta believe this is @Chemical X 's world and we're just living in it.
Cav has a nice point total and 6 players remaining, but his best case scenario is 4 in the final with 2 of them being from DAL. Unfortunately for Cav, he'd be facing 6 Stars from Chem X. That, and being almost 30 points behind probably seals this for the mischievous monkey. (Alternatively, its FLA/CAR v VGK in which case Chem X has 3 VGK and likely a commanding lead.)

This could be the earliest win since @Parmcat taking 12 TBL a few years back.

Congrats!

Whoever drafted Tkachuk, good work. Wasn't he like a last pick or something? Aaron said something about it being weird a hundred point scorer went so late.

Anyway, good luck to everybody.

There might still be a battle for 2nd place (and we're only paying top two) between Cav and Foos. Foos' 6 put up 59 in this last round while Cav's 2 Panthers put up 24 (I'm ignoring Benn, Seguin and Skjei as they're done). Cav's got a 56 point lead but it isn't insurmountable.

Best pick (so far): 4.03 Chem X / Roope Hintz / F / DAL with 58 points, but he's out so let's say 6.06 Cav / Matthew Tkachuk / F / FLA who has 56 and is still alive; plus he was taken 2+ rounds later.

My biggest mistake was trying to diversify and take the Lightning goalies instead of just going all in on Vegas.
You could have waited forever and still got them as it turns out. ;)
Pick of the draft: 12.10 kupcho1 / Golden Knights / G / VGK

But I came in 4th so I'd have to say the real pick of the draft was 6.06 Cav / Matthew Tkachuk / F / FLA which helped propel him into 2nd place.
(Cav should have taken all comers in this format and raked big time.)

Congrats again to @Chemical X - good call on loading up for the Western Conference final :thumbup: A new strategy emerges.

And thanks again to @Aaron Rudnicki for running this thing. Please let me know where the accounting stands (between payment owed for this, finishing 3rd in the regular season and Cav money, I have no idea where I'm at).

Also, just based on my pre-draft rankings, projections and expectations
Best outperform (on a ppg basis) was Evan Bouchard / D / EDM
Worst underperform* (again, on a ppg basis) was Kirill Kaprizov / F / MIN

* ignores injuries/games not played on the per game denominator

still can’t believe my boston 3 didn’t win a round. also can’t believe a vgk 51 win team was largely ignored. i was all over mark stone late in this and got sniped big time. glad i didn’t need him.

edit to say i passed on stone round 10 for dadonov, took wyatt johnston 11 and i would’ve went stone there. he was questionable while we were drafting.
