All I can say is that I know that trading DJ is/was on the table. There have been offers made from the Steelers side allegedly. Not necessarily these rumors from the articles though. At this point I hear they want Broderick Jones and if he isn't there at #17 they will look to trade back. Trading up probably not likely. My source has not been 100%, because he isn't always in the room. But the draft board and draft day was on point.
If you say so but to me it would make no sense to trade DJ and now have to two holes at WR to fill, especially when the trade would involve one or more high draft picks. It's not like there are decent free agents WRs to sign at this point either.
Anything is possible but I'll be very surprised if they go that route.
I agree that it would be weird if DJ was on the trade block unless we were getting a decently high 1st round pick. He's much better than Hollywood Brown and signed to a reasonable contract for 2 more seasons. A lot of Steelers fans want to boot him out the door apparently, but shipping off your WR1 isn't the same as shipping off your WR3.
If they somehow trade him for a 1st, I'd expect us to take a WR in the 1st or at 32, and whoever we get probably won't be better than DJ in year 1, but will be cheaper. The tradeoff will be JSN, Addison, or Flowers for Diontae, and we're back to having 1 proven WR (Pickens) and several crapshoots (Rookie / Calvin Austin).
I am not at all sold on Pickens. I was pretty disappointed with his rookie performance. Fans generally put way too much stock in highlight catches. A WRs biggest job is to get open. Pickens was pretty bad a generating space last year. DJ is one if the best in the league at generating space
He kind of reminds me of Dez Bryant. He doesn't always get much separation, but he was usually able to make the catch. I think that after a full offseason Pickett and Pickens will get more on the same page and we'll see a big jump this year in production. Also, there were definitely times Pickens was wide open, but by the time the ball arrived he wasn't anymore. I think that will improve with less Trubisky on the field and more time for P2P connection to mature.

Trading back involves someone else wanting to trade up. I expect very few trades not inviting QBs. This really is a terrible draft class
It's possible that not many trades happen, but a lot of the pundits think there will be lots of movement in the 1st round. I think because some of the position groups are pretty shallow, teams might move up to lock down a position. Also, it seems possible that Levis is there at 17 and teams might want to move ahead of the Lions.
I also heard of some recent trade rumors (I.E., people spouting off on blogs or twitter with 0 sources) for offensive skill position players, specifically teams moving up for Bijan or JSN. Something like Buffalo giving up 27, 59, & 205, and Steelers giving 17 & 120 or LAC giving up 21 & 85 for 17.
