2024 Philadelphia Eagles - First one was for the fans. This one was for the team. Next one is for the legacy. (4 Viewers)

Should beat the browns but i got a bad feelng about this game
Browns are the worst offense in the league and one of the worst teams in football. We're getting all of our offensive weapons back (first week since Brazil they're all available). If this is a close game game Nick will be right back on the hot seat. If they lose he'll be gone. Like no question in my mind. That being said, I'm thinking that they used the week effectively and will get back on track with a decisive win. Something like 35-17
Agreed. I think the eagles run away with this one with Lane and both starting WRs back. I feel like we may have been a bit too down on the team playing without their top weapons....but that's probably frustration left over from the second half of last year

Per berman

The Eagles released Devin White.White wanted to play, it wasn’t going to happen in Philly barring injury/injuries. He agreed to terms that would allow for financial relief for the Eagles, according to a league source, in order to be a free agent. He’s now open to sign anywhere.Had the Eagles waited a few more weeks (post-trade deadline, White would have been subject to waivers and would not get to pick his destination. So timing mattered here.

I like Jason, but he is heading to a CTE study path...

For context, I believe this is in relation to something the NFLPA is pushing to get reporters out of the locker room.
It is
You’ve seen it?

No its to the NFLPA request of the locker room and reporters inside
I was making a bad joke that your post indicated you saw his schween. It was a little obscure and not very well-crafted.

I actually saw the podcast when they were talking about this. Some active player actually doxxed a local beat writer and called him a “meat watcher” 😂

Wow Hassan’s agent has left him now. Howie and Philly got themselves out of a bad situation

It's only a bad situation because he isn't getting a new contract. If the Eagles (or Jets) would have paid him he'd be playing. Through 4 games, Reddick has the same amount of sacks and 2 less tackles than Bryce Huff. I wouldn't say Howie did a great job here, we're paying a guy to play that is giving us the same production as a guy holding out.

I didn’t like Hassan being traded when it happened and I still don’t like it. I know there’s a bunch of rumors swirling around that he was a locker room cancer, but they’re only rumors. I have not heard that reported anywhere. This team could really use a pass rusher like him. The replacement that they gave a ton of money to blows goats.

Eagles weren’t paying because he dogged it last year. Jets might be a mess but he’s handled his situation so poorly if I were any team why’d I’d take him. Come contract time, 3 of his former teams (AZ, Car, PHI) all said nope in resigning Reddick. That says a lot about a player of his talent. Really disappointed in him

I can't say whether or not Reddick "dogged it" last year but, for whatever reason(s), his production tailed off big-time compared to the previous year. He didn't deserve a new contract this year. His best option (with the Eagles or the Jets) was to come in, play up to his talent level and earn that new contract by the end of this season.

It is my understanding that when Howie wanted to trade him to the Jets, Reddick did not object. I applaud Howie for removing a potential distraction from the team. On the flip side, I was less than enthused about Reddick's replacement when Howie then traded for Huff. Sure, we don't have that hold-out distraction but, we also aren't getting any better production either. The plus side of this situation is that Huff is playing and the potential for increased production is there for the taking as the season progresses.

As for the Browns game, it sort of feels like a trap game to me. The Eagles need to score early and often, forcing the Browns to play catch-up. We need to take control of our run game early. Our defense needs to force the Browns (read Watson) into mistakes and turnovers. The defense needs to be prepared for Winston also as I believe Watson will be on a short leash, no matter what Stefanski has said to the media. All the better for the Eagles if Stefanski remains stubborn and leaves Watson in for the entire game.

GO BIRDS!!

Misvaluing Huff is a huge whiff by Howie. He could have brought him in here but why did he court him like he was Joey Bosa? I don't think anyone was going to pay Huff that kind of money.

Eagles inactives vs. Browns:

QB Tanner McKee (3rd QB)
CB Eli Ricks
OL Nick Gates
OL Darian Kinnard
G Trevor Keegan
DT Byron Young

As I wrote in the game thread, too much negative. Browns D is still legit, and the Browns offense scored 3 FGs. Eagles dominated everywhere but the scoreboard thanks to a fluky blocked FG return.

More concerned about Goederts status

Its a good needed win. Just expected more. Thought jalen played well except the very beginning of the game
Me too.

From a different angle, realize that teams with good defenses often lose to much better teams by relatively small margins. Jets last year come to mind. The Eagles were not bad today. Could have easily had much more then 20 points against a solid defense.

Far too much negativity in here

Is Cleveland really a solid D though? Statistically speaking they’re middle of the pack at best this year. I’ll grant you some of that is due to the fact that the offense stinks and probably constantly puts them in a bad position. But this isn’t the same dominant D from last year.

I can’t see if it (must be blocked by whoever tweeted it) but I can’t only assume it was him trash talking fans at the end of the game.

I said it before, he’s far too emotional to be a CEO style QB. It’s even rare to see players act like this let alone a “leader”.

And the all-22 is gonna be bad for Hurts again. He’s just so limited in his ability with the talent this team has. There’s SO MANY easy throws for big yardage and he can’t see it. I think it’s also a mistake having him call protections too. He’s bad at it.

Eeked it out, and I’ll take it.

But haven’t scored in the 1st quarter of 7 straight games, and haven’t won a game by more than 7 points in a calendar year.

This is still a team with a broken offense, an uneven defense and, just for fun, special teams that might somehow be worse than 2022.
Sad but true

They’re an act at best D with maybe 2-3 great players and one who happens to be an elite pass rusher that’s makes that D look better. Yes they have some injuries but it’s not a great d. middle of pack at best. We should’ve had at least 30 on this defense

Coach and qb hinder and limit this offense from being much better.

The offense is far too talented for this to be a thing. We’re stuck with him for 2-3 years but Hurts is holding the offense back. It just is what it is.
Some team could get desperate but yeah given his contract break down unless hurts wanted to help facilitate a trade and and restructure his deal (move money around still keep what he signed) I think were in QB purgatory for at least another year or 2. They’ll at least fire Nick and bring in a new coach considering what’s invested in Hurts but after that it’s more or less on Hurts how it plays out after.

Whether we are serious this year or not, I would go after Maxx Crosby. He's the type of player that changes everything for the defense. If LV wants a 1st +, I think he's worth it. It's like when we traded a first for Jason peters and got 11 years of All Pro LT play for our line. Go get Crosby and get a stud as DE to go with Carter and Davis, suddenly Huff, Smith, Sweat have freedom on the opposite side.

Go get Maxx Crosby. Whatever it takes.

I don't understand how we have Barkley, AJ, a good Oline and can't figure out how to gain yards.
Because the QB is limited.

I’ve seen enough of him. This is who he is. You have to hide him to an extent and hope for no turnovers. He can’t dissect and carve up a defense. He doesn’t see the field well enough.

What was up with Siri’s presser? Bringing his kids as a human shield? And his answers are getting even more rambling and crazy- I felt like I was on mescaline watching that. Dude needs to go.

Was thinking about this today. I’d trade our 1st this year for Mad Max. No one as talented as him as a pass rusher coming out of this draft. Plays hard nose football, great community guy and leader. Puts it all on the field. Sign him long term. I’ve been thinking go get mad max for awhile now
