2024 Rookie IDP Rankings (1 Viewer)

Rookie rankings are up... and you can view by position (DL, LB, DB) and overall (including offensive players) but there is no Overall IDP-only rookie option thus far this year.

This has always been an option in previous seasons. I know sometimes due to updates, etc. all of the rankings options aren't available until later in the summer (like breaking out DE/DT and CB/S)... but it is almost mid-August at this point. Does anyone know if there is a way I am missing to view Overall IDP rookie rankings?

Also, as of now when I look at IDP by position (DL, LB, DB) there are only 6-7 players per position. What gives? These are typically 30 or so players deep.

Thanks. I know we've never gone 30 deep on positions but I'll ask our John Norton to look there.

Viewing All IDP Rookies is for sure something we do. On the Rookie rankings page, https://www.footballguys.com/rankings/duration/dynasty?rookies=1 we have "ALL IDP" as a position to click. https://www.footballguys.com/rankings/duration/dynasty?rookies=1&pos=io

And we also go in detail on positions with DL, DT, DE, LB, DB, CB and S.

Thanks.

As I'm sure you've seen, Gary Davenport is also doing a ton of IDP content we haven't had in the past. Good luck!

Thanks Joe.

I don't see the ability to break out the IDP's in separate rankings beyond DL, LB, DB (although that isn't important for our league because we only use DL, LB, DB). I do see the IDP rookies in the overall rankings (including offense). And the DE/DT and CB/S designations within the overall rookie ranking. But there also used to be an IDP only overall ranking. Which I don't see anymore.

I stand corrected on the 30 deep by position. I was thinking 30 each in terms of DL, LB, DB (not broken out beyond that). But that was last in 2022. However below is the difference in rookie IDP's ranked since 2022. I didn't notice the drop last year as 39 was plenty deep. But 20 seems abnormally shallow:

2022 - 90 IDP rookies ranked
2023 - 39 IDP rookies ranked
2024 - 20 IDP rookies ranked

any data has to why the past couple of years, rookies have been disappointing? I can barely recall a stud rookie LB making an FF impact

I think DB can do better out of the gate. 2022 had Pitre and Brisker do well.
Maybe it is D becoming more complicated and more substitutes
Cooper and Verse coming on
Drafts not as good for D last 2 years

Scoring my home league
2023 Stevenson 189, Pace 188, Witherspoon 184, Young 174, Branch 167, Campbell 160, Turner 148 (268-324 -274 high D position)
2022 : Pitre 281, Walker 225, Brisker 209, Lloyd 200, Hutchinson 198, Joseph 169, McCreary 168, Rodriguez 168 (283-344-281)
2021: Parsons 223, Bolton 204, Rousseau 167, Holland 148, Adebo 148, Campbell 146, Koramoah 146 ( (264-327-229)
2020: Chinn 223, Queen 214, Winfield 188, Curl 186, Murray 186, Young 174, Gladney 155, Terrell 155 (192-293-244)
2019: Bush 224, White 202, Holcomb 193, Rapp 190, Crosby 186, Bosa 174, Greenlaw 170, Murphy 161 (252-283-270)

I am thinking drafts not as deep for D.

Just goes to show you that talent alone does not guarantee FF success. Campbell was supposed to be that guy last year. Most don't get the snaps required right away and the teams alignments have changed over recent years. Teams play less LBs and more DBs now. Situational pass rushers now take the place of some LBs .
