Nico is the ultimate corporate Nike guy. He's not going to say anything of substance or value and he will never admit being wrong. It's part of why their stock was $100 higher 2 years ago than today. The higher ups refuse to acknowledge mistakes and are glacial in pace reacting once it's obvious.

I think you might be selling AD's market very short. I also think PJ Washington, Naji Marshall, and Daniel Gafford will have a market that at least gets them something useful in return (I don't recall if Gafford can be traded this year with his extension). N

Most teams are going to have issues matching salary. The two that at least come close are the Kings for LaVine or Philly for George, but are you really getting multiple first back for either? It's really hard to get to a pu pu platter salary match with him. He's obviously not untradable, but I don't know you're getting multiple first back either.

Some ideas (without looking into apron stuff) - in all cases first round picks heading to Dallas unless otherwise mentioned:

• SAS for Barnes, Johnson, and Olynyk or Johnson, Kornet, Castle, Olynyk or something with no picks.
• GSW for Kuminga and Green (there would have to be some salary from GSW going somewhere else).... I think this is my favorite
• OKC for Hartenstein, Wiggins, and Kenrich Williams(or Jaylin Williams instead of Wiggins or other Williams, depending on who is looking for more value)
• LAL for Hachimura, Vanderbilt, Vincent, and Kleber - not sure if this is allowed but it would be a treat
• POR for Grant, Williams III, Thybulle
• DET for Harris and Robinson
• NYK for KAT
• CHA for Bridges and Sexton... if the picks cost isn't too high, I think this would be really interesting. Ball, Miller, and KK with a legit PnR center and back line defender could be nice.

Point is, lots of teams could make the money work.

I think both GSW/DAL would need a third team to take on salary (I'm out of trade machine practice) and I think GSW would need to send out $6 million more in salary (again not sure Spotrac's trade machine is 100% accurate). You're right that that seems the most appealing. Dallas being up against the 2nd apron makes things harder.

It's possible it could work but I think it's an unnecessary risk. I can't think of a good solution for Dallas in the short-term, though. Although getting another lottery pick would be nice (meaning their own).

Normally I am okay with trading Duren for a big piece, but not with AD. Having Duren at center to keep AD as a stretch four would help keep him healthy.

I listened to some of it. You're right, "report" was probably the wrong word. He did suggest that it was more than just a personal opinion. I guess that's what I was curious about -- how plugged in he might be.

It is needed and should happen. It kind of sucks too, the light the beam Kings were fun and I never thought they were a legit title contending type of team, I thought they could have been the Blazers with Lillard or the Clippers with Paul type of team.

Atlanta is such a weird sports city.

• Lots of transplants
• college sports are bigger than pro sports.
• Larger black population than white in the city - but the teams outside the Braves have sucked for decades. The biggest known stars over the years have been white and mostly Braves players.
• The city in general and especially in the AA community have been starved of star players that we can call our own. Dominique was the closest we had until Vick.
• It’s hard to explain how big Vick was here because he was legit the first guy that we had that seemed like a superstar- that whole saga really deflated the sports community
• Other than that most of the other guys have been fringe all-star guys for a season or two.

So, to now answer your question. Trae came in and the city embraced him even though several of us hated they traded Luca to get him (and obviously it was a stupid decision - not Nico-level stupid but still stupid). But he came in and put on a show - similar to Nique. But it’s clear you can never win anything with him as your centerpiece. He hasn’t done anything wrong and people still love to watch him play because he is entertaining. But as a life long fan who wants to win I just wish he’d go away - he’s incapable of changing his game and his size is always going to be a huge liability on defense which I’m assuming is why he barely tries. He takes horrible 3’s all the time.

It’s no coincidence they’ve looked better and won more since he’s been out.
