That’s their M.O.That game shaved months off my life. Iowa is a frigging rock fight of a team. Very impressed with their toughness.
Why is Washington in the top 25, they are awful.
At some point, Jim Mora Jr. is going to get another shot at a bigger program. 7-3 at UCONN and nobody is talking about it. That's a big deal and a great win over Duke.
I like watching the service academies play because they are so disciplined and they execute. Just don’t have the talent obviouslyNavy could do the most fun thing ever tonight.....
Navy won't lay down and let ND score 1,000 points on them... so they could but they won'tNavy could do the most fun thing ever tonight.....
Indiana playing against an obviously talented but totally mess Penn St team and barely surviving in the back of two exceptional catches kind of showed me that they are easily the weakest of undefeated teams. They are good but very beatable. Ohio St and Texas A&M are showing me much more on the field. Hard to drop a team for still winning though.A&M should jump Indiana this week. Not sure if they will, but I'd have them at 2 and Indiana 3.
Ole Miss should fall a spot or 2. No credit for beating Citadel in November.
BYU falls the most. They got curb stomped but that ranking was fool's gold and we all knew it.

Texas obviously is their best win and other than that game there hasn't been a close game including their dismantling of Penn St that IU just clung on to a win against barely. It's Mormons chief, with an "o". Get your slur right. It seems basically criminal that tech is good and they play neither Texas, OU, TCU or I suppose TAMU. How did we get to this point where their most important game was vs mormans?
Well... I much rather ND go through IU than Ohio St or Texas A&M in playoffs.Everyone is beatable. Money. Sucks. OU was probably playing Mississippi State or something. It seems basically criminal that tech is good and they play neither Texas, OU, TCU or I suppose TAMU. How did we get to this point where their most important game was vs mormans?

I know this place likes to get into the subjective in lieu of the objective, but I try not to go there. That said, I find it a little puzzling that Texas as OSU's best win doesn't give people pause. They won that game 14-7 where on 5 or 6 different occasions Texas decided to keep points off the board or forego improving their field position by a lot. I would submit to the jury that OSU's best win will be in the conference championship game. That they haven't really been tested and won't be until then. They are likely the most untested #1 team during the playoff era (including the four team playoff), though I'm willing to entertain others.Texas obviously is their best win and other than that game there hasn't been a close game including their dismantling of Penn St that IU just clung on to a win against barely. It's crystal clear that OSU has had better talent on the field in every single game. Look no further than the backyard style of ball they've played to date. Spread them out, go deep, throw the ball up and let the studs do the work. That's not even a debate IMO. But I don't believe they've really been tested. I won't say team X is better than team Y especially when they haven't played each other. That's why I asked the question I did. That's what the games are for.
They're gonna get a test in a few weeks. Do they have more talent? Sure. Go ahead and throw that out the window. This game transcends talent and we'll see what they're made of.I know this place likes to get into the subjective in lieu of the objective, but I try not to go there. FYI, IU's regular kickoff guy (who regularly just bangs it out of the endzone) was out injured. That plus an earlier 30+ yard return probably led to the squib.I mean the chances are smaller than letting them pick it up at like the 36.Assume the wanted no chance of a big returnWhy did they squib that kick?
But whatever….LFG IU!!!!!!

Start wearing purple...“Madison James Madison….we are the Dukes of JMU”
I know GB....but this is the sort of subjectivity I try to avoid. I didn't realize so many freshmen/redshirt freshmen were playing for Michigan. Three on Oline, 2-3 WRS, RBs. Really thin at LB too. I know that's all similar to last year and your boys came out victorious. They're gonna get a test in a few weeks. Do they have more talent? Sure. Go ahead and throw that out the window. I thought of them, but they had some challenges. I think it was FSU and/or Pitt in 2016. Wasn't VT good then too? So what are the college rules about catches and the players heel? I remember an NFL game this year where I got a toe tap, but his heal hit the line and they ruled it incomplete. In this case his toe hit but his heel came down before anything else , does that matter? I think his heel was in but it was crazy close.
ETA: this evidently is the toe-heel rule
The rule is 9-2-2dI vote shady, but I guess it's within the rules? For now.Did you all catch USC’s fake punt last night? USC’s punter wears no. 80. And before the game, Riley had his backup QB Sam Huard switch to no. 80, setting up the play where the QB goes in to impersonate the punter. Threw for a first down on 4th and 6.
Shady or genius?

ETA: Duplicate numbers are allowed, but I believe they would usually be split between offense and defense. I've seen two-way players switch jerseys if they are going to be on the field with the other. Not sure if I've ever heard of duplicate numbers playing the same position.
Doing it for a punt is interesting. Who is to say a punt formation isn't just a long shotgun snap formation?
I stand corrected. Apparently Huard has been listed as No. 80 for three weeks now. No one ever noticed and they didn’t pull the trick play until this week.

d . Two players playing the same position may not wear the same number during the game.
There is a section 1-4-1 on Recommended Numbering. Only lists offensive players (End 80-99, tackle 70-79, guard 60-69, snapper 50-59, guard 60-69, tackle 70-79, end 80-99...Quarterback, halfback, fullback, halfback Backs 0-49)
This weeks training video should be interesting. It would surprise me if this is not addressed. (Not necessarily changed)

I saw that the Big 10 released a statement that the play should have been a penalty because two different players playing the same position can’t wear the same number. So the question is whether the backup QB was playing as a punter. They were certainly in punt formation - but he didn’t punt - he threw a pass. My guess is they get this clarified and disallow it going forward.
Edit to add: The fake punt wouldn’t have been flagged under the interpretation noted above as USC’s punter hadn’t punted yet. So the trick play was 100% legal. The flag presumably would have come later when the punter came in to punt for the first time.

I think it’s debatable that he was a punter simply because of where he was standing.
