2025 College Football Thread: FSU loses to Stanford in battle of academic powers (15 Viewers)

They’re playing a team with a name of the local school on a Friday night ABC show but FSU has scored touchdowns on all 9 possessions today. They lost to one of these teams a few years ago (and uhhhhh just went 2-10) so I think every fsu fan will I’ll be a little tepid going in.

I know Oklahoma State is having a down year but my god, Oregon is demolishing this team. What the hell was Gundy thinking with his comments this week?

Coming out of the Texas game with the family…

Arch Manning is not impressive thus far. His completions were wide, wide open. Any degree of traffic or basic separation was wildly inaccurate. If he’d not have had his rushing touchdown, he’d have had another bad game masked by obvious broken plays.

But he really seems to lack touch and feel for the game thus far. There’s zero chance he goes to the NFL this year unless he makes significant strides. He’s not ready yet, at all.

Yeah, the stat line and the film will show two different things. He's got work to do. The mechanics are really inconsistent and he's got to get that worked out or it's going to be tough going against better teams.

Everyone around him has basically already said he's coming back next year. They all know he needs experience to develop at Texas. He doesn't need the money either.

WTF?!?!?!! :lmao:

We saw Byron Leftwich part 2 and a kicker who learned to kick off youtube and this thread is on page two on the first day of real games?
passively watched this game last night. did it also feel to you like the announcers were a HS booth that got pulled in at the last minute because CBS couldn't get anyone else to call the game?
Yes. They were terrible. I will also ask all of you if you have problem with audio while watching ABC? It is REALLY low for me. This has been a couple years now for me. I thought it might be my affiliate when I was in Nashville, but I have since moved to FL and the problem persists.
Yes. I thought it was my local affiliate too. Busy weekend so i missed the games, but I've noticed this kind of thing for awhile now.
This seems to be remedied if you watch the game on the ESPN app....FYI.

Clemson looks like crap
Haven’t seen this score yet. What’s going on?!
It's on my second screen but Troy scored early and then there was a weather delay. Troy got a field goal and Clemson can't move the ball (until now they just scored). The second Troy TD was a 5 yard pick six on a typical Klubnik batted ball.

GT plays them next week in the ATL.
I imagine Clemson pulls this out but that score shocked me.

Troy looks like the better team so far...it is now 16-3 Troy and they are driving for another score at the two-minute warning.

1. Our tailgate setup is sick.

2. I love midwestern football fans. These Michiganders are my people.

3. Oklahoma St has pretty much always sucked and I'm so glad we don't have this dumb game where we win 80% of the time but should never lose and sometimes we do and it's idiotic.

4. Arch looked solid can't wait to put them back down again in October

5. Our tailgate setup is sick.

Fair. I stopped short of saying what I really think. He might pull it together, but so far he hasn’t looked like the guy in waiting/second coming. He looks like the guy who couldn’t beat out Ewers.

That might change, but he has a lot lot of work to do if so. He definitely doesn’t look like the phenom young QBs that have broken onto the scene…yet.
