2025 College Football Thread: Jordon leaves Belichick for Sonny Dykes (16 Viewers)

I disagree with the "it was OSU's defense, not Arch's fault" stances. He was overthrowing balls, throwing at his receiver's feet, underthrowing, throwing behind.

I'm not saying OSU doesn't have a good D. Maybe they do*. But that doesn't change the fact that Arch was really bad today.

*Caveat - Patricia is the DC. I'm positive he will screw it up.
Absolutely. Nothing about Ohio State's D (I'm sure they're very good) forced most of the bad passes I saw. Maybe it was being overwhelmed and he'll be fine, but he threw some really bad passes and did not look good at all outside of 3 throws that i can think of.

Overthrows, underthrows, gunning it at guys on short passes, no accuracy, no touch on most throws.

Kenyon Sadiq - get to know that name if you're shopping for a dynasty TE. Built like a Greek God with top speed at 23MPH. He just shook off a tackler at the LOS like he was a flea.

Granted, this is Montana State but Oregon looks LOADED. 5-Star true Frosh Dakorien Moore has made his debut with a splash too.

QBs making first or first big starts are looking shaky across the board : Sayin, Manning, Simpson. Now I'm starting to worry a bit about CJ Carr and tomorrow evening. ND coaches better have a solid gameplan at a tough venue for a first time starter and today is really showing why.

How long before Kalen DeBoer gets fired?
Feel bad for the guy (accept for the millions of dollars he has made)!

It may have played out this way with anyone taking Saban’s place but I didn’t think it would end well for Deboer at Bama (accept for the millions of dollars he has made).

I doubt he lasts there long term but who do they realistically go after to replace him? Would Lanning leave Oregon now?

It’s very hard to follow a legend. Saban is arguably to college football what John Wooden was to college basketball.

Alabama looks really sloppy on defense which they never did during the Saban era. That late hit was just terrible.

Ty Simpson just looks meh. Seen him a few times now and he really looks like an overrated high school recruit.

He lost his job to Tyler Buchner last year. Curious if or when Bama would go to a guy like Russell.
