2025 College Football Thread: Jordon leaves Belichick for Sonny Dykes (16 Viewers)

Ohio State banning Portnoy from coming into the stadium for Big Noon Kickoff. Is this because he's a Michigan guy or something else? Weird.

I don’t think OSU decision. I’m guessing Fox decision and they are leaking to stir up controversy to try to gin up ratings.
If it was oSU* vs Bowling Green maybe, but vs Texas in their opening game of the year? I have my doubts Fox would need to drum up ratings like this. This has Ryan  Day's fingerprints all over it.
Not ratings for the game, but for the pre-game show. They are trying to kick off some redesigned kickoff show against Corso’s last College GameDay.

OSU AD is saying that it was a Fox decision: https://x.com/rossdellenger/status/1960315503244702158?s=61&t=H_x9QHHtveqmaMK5HnP2AA
Yeah, i meant pre game too, but in the world we find ourselves living in who knows what's true.

Portnoy is awful and between himself, oSU*, and Fox that's quite a line-up of potential suspects.

I'm just glad college is back and Saturday can't come soon enough. The sideshow has been fun and all, but time for the main event.
I really wish Portnoy was a fan of any other college football team.

But then Bryce Underwood would be at LSU.

Whoever voted Texas #1 should have their voting privileges permanently revoked

Oh and Arch Manning blows.
Whoever puts stock in these stupid rankings at the beginning of the season should suffer a similar fate. Neither one of these teams look like a top 5 team right now

Except like the last 8 nationals champs have all been ranked in the top 10 preseason. So there is that.

Not sure that demonstrates what you think it does.

To help you out it means the rankings aren't as bad as you claim they are.

Oh ok....I bet ALL of them were ranked in the top 25 right???? :lmao:

When you have four spots to predict and have to go out double the spots to see the story you want, you should pause.

I still remember the year Arch was coming out and then saw how his final high school game went:

8 for 21 for 96 yards, 0 TDs, 2 Ints

That gave me pause. Maybe it was his team, etc. But clear cut top QBs seemed to rarely have games like that at that level.

Horrible throw to wide open receiver on 3rd down.

Gotta be able to make that throw 100 out of 100 times. Yikes a bad miss on an easy throw in a big spot.
That's was an easy one and a big gainer from the looks of it.

Arch had 3 maybe 4 good throws all game. Not a great start.

Ohio State could coast in this one. I have no idea what they really look like after that, but I'm sticking with my PSU prediction for the NC.

Well that was sure a dud of a game for all the hype. Neither team looked good.

Arch struggled and Julie did not look that good either. Texas will ride out Arch but OSU might be portal shopping for a QB for next season.

I disagree with the "it was OSU's defense, not Arch's fault" stances. He was overthrowing balls, throwing at his receiver's feet, underthrowing, throwing behind.

I'm not saying OSU doesn't have a good D. Maybe they do*. But that doesn't change the fact that Arch was really bad today.

*Caveat - Patricia is the DC. I'm positive he will screw it up.
