2025 Philadelphia Eagles - Lane Johnson has entered the late-stage Jason Peters phase: great when out there, but can’t stay out there a full season. (109 Viewers)

Yeah I mean if we can get through the next two games with wins we should wrap up the 1 seed barring some blowup. I don’t think we win this weekend, but even still, with that as a loss I think the 1 would still be ours to lose.

We beat Detroit. It's still Detroit. They will always suck in big games. Here it comes again

Detroit is 8-15-1 SU since 2021 as road underdogs
Eagles are 27-5 SU since 2021 as home favorites

I saw something on social media that reminded me of how this board thinks.

"Everyone can beat the Eagles . . . until it's time to actually beat the Eagles."

That's somewhat misleading because from the start of 2021 until mid-2022 the Lions only won 4 total games (4-19-1) and were 0-8-1 on the road in 2021. Since they were so bad, I'm guessing they were underdogs in all 9 of those games.

More relevant would be what those records since 2023, which is when both teams were good.

Lions against bottom-10 scoring defenses (points allowed) this year: 4-0, 42.8 points per game

Lions against everyone else: 2-3, 22 points per game

Eagles are currently a top-10 (10th) scoring defense.

It's based on when both HC started with their respective teams. You can take the trends however you like.

If it makes you feel any better (I don't think it will):

Detroit is 2-4 SU since 2023 as road underdogs
Eagles are 17-3 since 2023 as home favorites

Looks like we won't be facing Sam LaPorta this weekend, or Terrion Arnold. But I"m not sure Arnold is even good is he? LaPorta is definitely a loss for the Lions though.

And the Eagles are just getting healthier at the right time, sorta.

Arnold is a solid CB. He was playing too handsy early and looked like he was gonna be on the Joey Porter Jr DPI track, but he’s settled in.

Their secondary is dinged up all over, though. Losing Kerby Joseph will be big. Amik Robertson, if he plays, is gimpy with a new hammy injury. DJ Reed was maybe coming back, but he might not play. I don’t think there’s gonna be much man coverage this week, all zone. Big possibility for explosives outside the hashes this week.

Pretty crazy they still 7-2 and have number 1 seed. Havent even been playing great
Right. Everybody better watch the **** out if Jalen decides to start ripping it.

Guess this guy showing up to watch the kittens lose. Watch him go away about this time tomorrow

And her tweet breaking this news now has a community note saying:

“AJ has never said he is "miserable" and it is unbecoming of a journalist to say he has.

Rossini is best known for sensationalizing the situation of the WR and the Eagles.

Recently she claimed he wanted to be traded, admitting she used his IG captions as a source for it.”

Yep she's a trash journalist.

Its sad. She makes stuff up and people think its legit. Somehow makes money of it. Ridiculous

At the risk of sounding old, this is how it’s done nowadays. It’s still hard for people to wrap their head around the fact that you have to get clicks and views to make money and keep your job. She actually admitted to “reading the tea leaves” in an interview a week ago when she “broke a story”

Good for her i guess

So AJ Brow is just gonna stir **** up the entire season eh

:lmao: :popcorn::huh:
He kind of has a point.
I mean he does, just like most things in life, its just not good to continuously air dirty laundry in public.

To each their own though haha, if they want to hear the media talk about what AJ is saying ROS, tis what it is
I'm coming around to the conclusion that AJB will be traded as soon as it is financially feasible to do so.
Absolutely. In the meantime, can we use him to win another Super Bowl?
I’m sorry but these latest comments are really bad. Even if he believes it, publicly commenting that your own offense is a “**** show” is pretty insane. Especially when the team overall is playing well and winning. Given what we know about Hurts (I.e. winning is all that matters), how could he possibly continue to gel with Brown. But maybe if winning is everything, he can get past this gigantic distraction that Brown has become. Should be interesting how this week shakes out as I’m guessing they’ll probably need a good game out of him.
I mean he isn’t wrong. There’s other players in the offense upset too. Brown is just the most vocal right now. Then your HC is basically saying “we don’t know how to scheme AJ open? I think we have a new OC next year but at the same time AJ is gone. Lurie just had a meeting today with Brown because Big Dom recommended it. Yeah that’s not a good sign at all.

The bolded we struggle with constantly. There’s been outside coaches saying Eagles are known to struggle with zone and feel more defenses if they can do as Hurts hasn’t shown any progress since his rookie year against it. It’s gotten to the point if you can you play zone against the Eagles offense.

Not the first time. Tim McManus reported frustration amongst players on Hurts play when Brian Johnson was here. Everyone said he was just stirring the pot but Tim doesn’t write stuff unless he truly believes his sources on the matter.

I’m too lazy to look it up or search for it, but I remember you saying that Tim McManus was basically full of **** and not to trust anything he says. Shocking that when he says something negative about Jalen, his word is gospel. SHOCKING I TELL YA!

I never said that I was the opposite. That wasn’t me. If anything I said Tim was to be trusted at the same time it was said Nick was overriding the offense which it seems he might be doing again.

McManus/Fowler: Hurts and Sirianni relationship not good

Now that I’m thinking about it maybe it was Jeff McLane that you were down on-which I generally agree with. Apologies for my previous post.

Any time a writer quotes a “source familiar with Jalen Hurts’ thinking” ( that’s a direct quote from Tim McManus) and you subscribe to their opinions it’s a you problem.

Just be honest, it doesn’t matter who’s says anything about Hurts to you. Someone could quote Hurts’ dog and you’d buy in.

If anything I said Tim was to be trusted

Trusting this is laughable. These clowns trust one thing, that most will get as far as the headline. Just remember to like, click, subscribe and tune in next week!!

“On top of those struggles, Jalen Hurts' desired direction for the offense has not materialized, which has been a source of disappointment for the franchise quarterback, according to a source with direct knowledge of Hurts' thinking. A disconnect between the visions of Sirianni, Hurts and offensive coordinator Brian Johnson has affected the offense's ability to land on an identity, the source said.”

Your comment is like me saying Matt Pryor hasn't let up a single QB pressure since the Rams game. Then you saying, well he hasn't played. Then me saying, well you can't hold that against him.

Close. You’re just leaving out the fact that he played 66% of the snaps in 6 games. The context you’re adding (IMHO) seems negatively slanted. For instance, “yeah but Pryor faced the second string DE in this game” and “but we were ahead in game 3 so all he had to do is run block” etc. You’re adding in games where he played 0% of the snaps to diminish how much he played to make your point. You’re intentionally driving down his accomplishments to make them seem less impressive.

We all play or have played FFB I’d assume. When looking at a players PPG we don’t drive it down by adding games he played a couple snaps and left early or games he missed. That’s what you’re doing.

Sure, but you're also ignoring the fact that Jackson either missed entirely or didn't play in many games since week 1. When you have a fantasy player and he averages 25 points per game, you might say, hey good player. But you notice when he gets 100 points one game and then zero points the next 3, then 75 points, then zero again. You're taking a guy who barely played or didn't play at all in a majority of the games since week 1 and saying, "Look how goods he's done since week 1." All I did was provide context. When you're covering a guy who was a former defensive back because the other teams regular WRs are out with injury, it makes a difference. If he does a good job this week against the Lions WRs, then you can make a case.

He's not making the case. He proving my point.

🤦‍♂️ tonight doesn’t make anything I said untrue 🤷‍♂️ He had a good stretch and now he’s back to Sucksville

🤔 update? One poor play. Otherwise solid.

Man I love this defense. Two weeks in a row defense carried them to a low scoring W against a great offensive team. Still sitting in the #1 seed slot and the schedule gets a little easier.

SO why do I feel like this team can't get back to the Bowl if they don't figure out this offense?

This defense is a Super Bowl defense. I’ve seen them. This is *definitely* one of the best in the league without question. The addition of Phillips and the return of Nolan Smith has transformed this into something that’s obviously tough to get yards or score on as is.

Playing at Dallas this week and their offense will be a run test to see where this defense really is but tonight was an absolute masterpiece and I look forward to seeing how they continue to get better and what the plan with Michael Carter is moving forward and really just “how good can it get” if better than this?

Offense, I don’t have time for it right now.

Part of the problem with the run game is Barkley. Bigsby looks great out there and Barkley keeps running into offensive lineman butts.

The O Line was mediocre and Hurts was awful.

If we can get the offense to at least be mediocre we could have a shot at another ring.

Defense is just *chefs kiss*

Jalen Carter is gonna cost us a crap ton of money one day, but he’ll be worth it.

Good game guys. No excuses here, you guys were too good on defense and our offensive line was really bad. That combination is a killer. It's a shame because the Lions defense with a bunch of backups in the secondary really showed up.

People can say whatever they want about Goff and Campbell but everything starts and ends at the line of scrimmage. If you can't block you aren't winning anything.
