2025 Philadelphia Eagles - Schedule leak: Eagles to host TNF game week 1 vs either an NFC or AFC opponent. (21 Viewers)

After losing free-agent OL Mekhi Becton to the Chargers, the Eagles are now poised to have 2026 compensatory picks in rounds 3, 4, 5 and 6. They also already had the Jets’ 3 in 2026 courtesy of the Haason Reddick trade. They now are expected to have five of the top 100 picks, and 12 overall picks, in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Former Eagles free-agent WR Parris Campbell reached agreement today on a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys, per source. The Cowboys become the third NFC East team for which Campbell has played.

2 years, $20m for Becton. We couldn't pay that? I know we're trying to save money but that seemed reasonable.

That's probably going to be a 5th, which brings our projected comp picks in 2026 to a 3rd, 4th, 5th, & 6th.
The number of picks we have is just ridiculous. Really hope we use some of them to beef up future years' picks and move up in this draft to fill all the holes we lost in FA.

RG has low-key been a non-priority position for them. 2019 was the last time we had the same Week 1 RG from the previous season. So, not surprised they wanted to take on $9M more than they paid for the position last season.
Yeah it’s not an unreasonable number but they have so much money in that o line, with jurgens presumably getting a deal in the near future, it is a calculated risk that they can get enough value out of a much lower-priced guy and spread the money around to fill in depth elsewhere. (Like long snappers and return men and healthy scratches in the Super Bowl…)

Per Les Bowen on X, the Eagles are the only NFL team to have no players lose games to suspension since 2020.

Guess Big Dom is doing his job.
Sure, Dom is part of it. I think it is more related to the general atmosphere within the organization. Top-to-bottom.
For sure. I think if he were drafted by almost any other team, Jalen Carter would have been suspended for something, whether on the field or off, by now.

Why do you think that? Everything I have read is the opposite for his character.

Per Jeremy Fowler

Source: Pass rusher Azeez Ojulari is signing with the #Eagles on a one-year, $4M deal. Ojulari, who had 6.0 sacks last year, stays in NFC East with the Super Bowl champion.

Per Scheftar

Another Eagles’ payday: Five-time All-Pro OT Lane Johnson has reworked his contract to add $8 million dollars over the next two years, and an additional $30 million in guarantees, per his agent Ken Sarnoff from 1 of 1 Agency. The soon-to-be 35-year-old Johnson now will earn $48 million over the next two years, including $40 million guaranteed.

In the end, Eagles All-Pro RT Lane Johnson added one year at $25 million to his deal and he now is under contract through the 2027 season.

I love Azeez. He was hysterical on Parks and Rec!

Quality signing of a situational pass rusher who’s still only 24-25 and has a resumé of production. Injuries clearly a concern- who’da thunk he’d sign a 1-year deal for $4M? But a young player with upside comes here to try and re-establish value on a winning team.

I think he comes JUST below the comp pick level to not count for losing a pick but I could be wrong. Does anyone know?

I think we have to wait until the final numbers come out? It’s possible he might cancel out the projected 6th for Rodgers.

BG to announce his official retirement
One of the all time favorites here for a variety of reasons. So glad he stayed for the entire career and won a couple rings. Couldn’t be happier for him and I’m sure he’ll end up coaching at some point.
I remember all the clowns who wanted Earl Thomas. ET was good for bit then faded after he like many in Sea left that system. We also found out ET wasn’t a great person.

BG took a bit to get going but after he did there was no stopping him. Great teammate, top trash talker and he was consistent much longer. Really happy to see guys stay their careers in one city team. So rare in sports. Heck I thought Tom and Peyton would be Patriot and Colt forever and that didn’t happen.

In the last year guys spent their whole careers here and retired as legends. Proud to also adopt them as Delco Boys too with their families.

I just got home so didn’t get to see any of the retirement speech yet

BG strip sack of Brady in 52 is top 5 play in Franchise history.
What are your other 4?
Philly Philly
The Dagger
Backwards Hurdle
Opening Handoff TD NFCCG 2025

A lot of recency bias.

In no order

BG strip sack of Brady
Jackson Punt return
Philly Philly
Stopping Smith twice vs Dallas
Lito Pick 6 vs Romo on Prime Time or the Wentz escape where he throws the TD pass

Honorable mention Our first NFC Conference Title win with Andy

2 different roster approaches this off-season (per Jimmy Kempski):

- Eagles now have only 4 players over 30

- Commanders signed, traded for, or re-signed 10 players over 30 years of age.

There’s something about that Barkley TD in the snow too for me. I’ve watched that hundreds of times already.

A lot of my favorite plays are all recent too. I couldn’t figure out why but I think it’s because all the other plays felt like they were in lost/loser seasons. All of the other plays you mentioned just feel better because we won it all those years.

For sure. I mentioned this the day before SB59:

Did the ‘22 Eagles Super Bowl season not have many memorable highlights or moments, or did the SB loss make them forgettable? The butt-kicking we gave to SF in the NFCCG jumps out and then…?

Feels like ‘24 has just as many, if not more, than ‘17 and it would be tragic if a loss relegates them to faint memories.

A win cements all those special moments in Philly lore.

For your consideration (some details courtesy of Wikipedia):

The Hit - Eagles Chuck Bednarik tackled Giants player Frank Gifford, knocking him unconscious and delivering him a deep concussion requiring hospitalization. Considered to be among the most vicious defensive tackles in professional football history.

Miracle at the Meadowlands - Botched attempt at a Giants handoff leading to a fumble recovered by Eagles defensive back Herm Edwards for a touchdown, despite the Giants just needing to run out the final seconds to win. Resulted in the universal adoption of the quarterback kneel to end games and the firing of Giants offensive coordinator Bob Gibson.

Miracle at the Meadowlands II - Comeback victory for the Eagles after being down by 21 points with eight minutes left in the 4th quarter, scoring four unanswered touchdowns and DeSean Jackson winning on a punt return as time expired for the first time in NFL history.

4th & 26 - Would rank higher if they got further in the playoffs.

Patrick Robinson TD Interception vs Vikings in NCFC - Completely reenergized the crowd and turned the momentum of the game 180 degrees. Most electric moment I've been in the stadium for, and I've been there for 4th & 26, Saquon's run in the NFCC against WAS, and a couple others.

After BG's retirement, the Eagles have just 4 players who are 30+ years of age (only inc. players who were on a 53-man roster in 2024). 2 of the them are the long snapper & kicker.

- RT Lane Johnson (34)
- LS Charley Hughlett (34)
- TE Dallas Goedert (30)
- K Jake Elliott (30)

Just in free agency alone, the Commanders signed, traded for, or re-signed 10 players over 30 years of age, plus an additional 5 players who will turn 30 between now and the end of the 2025 season.

I’m old enough to remember when everyone says we should have taken the safety from Texas whose name I forgot over BG. Worked out just right, great career and priceless sack on Brady right when we needed it.

Earl Thomas part of the legion of Boom. ET tampered off had a contract dispute as he wanted to go to Dallas, ended up going to Bal before being cut and hit in trouble for beating on his lady amongst other things. Tried a comeback but not successful.

i think it would have worked out either way. we needed a safety. thomas was way better than bg early. bg looked like a bit of bust after his first couple years.

Earl Thomas was a way better player than BG. 7 pro bowls, 3x AP1, 1x AP2. He just didn't have the longevity that BG had.

The BG over Thomas decision did not help the Reid regime at all. BG didn't do much his first three years, and then Reid was fired.
He actually got better in the Kelly regime despite having to switch to linebacker in Billy Davis' defense.
And then he reached his full potential when Doug was hired; he was a great fit in Schwartz' defense. And he continued that into the Nick regime.

The Detroit Lions have proposed a significant change to NFL playoff seeding that would largely use regular season records instead of division championships.

Story via @SeifertESPN:

Packers officially are proposing to ban the Tush Push.

ET was more of a product of the system than anything else. Most of the guys on that defense would go elsewhere and suck.

It was weird because as much as the Def players changed sucked the WRS would go elsewhere and actually play competent football.

BG getting injured isn't what made Andy Reid turn his OL coach into a DC or the fact his son OD'd on team property b/c he was doing drugs.
There were a lot of moves that telegraphed AR's departure, but BG getting hurt early in his career is a non factor.

BG was just a worker with a tireless motor and a non stop positive energy. This is what was most responsible for his success. This was innate in him.

Every single coaching staff he was on was lucky to have him on their team and in their locker room.

Hope he sticks around the team.
