2025 Philadelphia Eagles - Birds look to give KC their first 0-2 start since 2014. (82 Viewers)

We’re starting our 25th league year this year and as a way to celebrate we decided to travel to a game. Ended up landing on next week’s KC game. Flying out Saturday and there until Monday. Can’t wait, I’ve heard nothing but great things about KC fans/tailgating experience from other Birds fans that have gone in the past.

@ChiefD any good BBQ recommendations?
I went years ago so take it for what it's worth- KC fans are IMHO one of the best fan bases when visitors are in their midst. I was treated to really mild ribbing and good natured back and forth was had. They were kind enough to provide what I consider one of the best if not the best bbq ever and a few beers. If your'e not an *** and can take the teasing they will let you enjoy the game as they do. As far as bbq places go ...Lc's or Joes is high on my list. Been back a few times just not at a game. Bryants is a can't miss though @ChiefD.

Charger fan jfyi.
I've heard they're friendly to opposing fans. Might be a little different given the recency of the Super Bowl though. And I'm assuming you went when the Chargers weren't very good and KC was very good.
No not really. But yeah kind of. Natron Means et all...lol. We did get stomped tho'. In pouring rain non the less. IIRC, there was water running down the stadium steps? Never went back to a game there though I would jump at the chance if it provided itself.
I'm assuming it was this game?

uh no I wish

found it! 1998.
  • Offensive Struggles: Chargers quarterback Ryan Leaf had a historically bad performance, completing just 1 of 15 passes for four yards and committing five turnovers.
  • Means's Performance: Despite his team's struggles, Means was a standout player, rushing for 160 yards, a career-best at the time.
  • A "Lone Bright Spot": Means's third-quarter touchdown was the only touchdown the Chargers scored. Their only other points came from a field goal, making his long run the most significant offensive play of the day.

Found it. Definitely was this game! Pouring rain, Means had a huge game, and Ryan Leafs first year. Damn, he went 1/15 and passed for 4 total yards lol

yep

Haven't heard it talked about, but wondering what happens to all the FB packages and plays with Ben VanSumeren out. They probably spent a lot of time in the off-season and in camp working on that, but it may have all been too specific to his skillset. They don't really have someone else on the roster to plug into that role (someone will obviously step-in for his ST role), so most of it probably gets scrapped.

Not much talk of how Jordan Davis played Thursday night. Currently graded as the 13th best IL in the league with a 71.2 grade, 5th most snaps played, with 3 pressures also which is 6/63 IL

Per zagaro our old Buddy Quez was in town

The Eagles had a busy day of tryouts on Monday:

LB Jamin Davis
DE Isaiah Foskey
G LaDarius Henderson
CB Mike Hilton
WR K.J. Osborn
OT Kadeem Telford
WR Quez Watkins

Out of these guys Osborn, Davis (former 1st rounder for Washington from UK from HI), And Foskey

Yep, that opening kickoff hurt us in so many ways.

Found this in Zach Berman's game notes:

Ben VanSumeren’s season-ending injury puts the Eagles’ plans at fullback in flux. I was among those skeptical that it would be a notable part of the offense. The injury occurred on the opening kickoff, so we’ll never get to see how it would have been used with VanSumeren. The Eagles moved to third-string tight end Kylen Granson to that role on Thursday, and it was enough to intrigue. He lined up in the backfield on six plays — the most of his career. If VanSumeren took six fullback snaps most weeks, I’d admit I was wrong about how I thought the Eagles would use the position. The question now is whether the Eagles will seek a fullback to replace VanSumeren or make that Granson’s role on the team this season. After VanSumeren’s knee injury last season, the Eagles signed Khari Blasingame. He was used sparingly on offense. The contributions mainly came on special teams.

Per Scheftar (wow)

Trade: Jaguars are sending RB Tank Bigsby to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for 2026 fifth- and sixth-round picks, per sources.
Shipley’s injury must be significant
Yeah this is it right there, Shipley played just 5 snaps, got a rib injury now we trade for Tank.

Good news is they seem serious about getting Saquon *not* 482 touches again this season and plan to play more of a less of a split.

Howie never sleeps

“Will Shipley, the Eagles' top backup RB, exited Thursday's game with a ribs injury.

Bigsby gives the Eagles quality young depth — he also averaged 32.5 yards on 6 kickoff returns last season.

He's under contract through 2026 with a cap number of $1.7M next season. Shipley will count $1.25M against the cap next season. The Eagles could have those two on the 2026 roster for under $3M against the cap.”

Bryce Huff’s stat line yesterday:

Picking up right where he left off.

Interestingly, the 5th we just sent to JAX is the one we got from SF for Huff. That pick can become a 4th if Huff meets (still unknown) performance milestones and the Jags will now get that benefit.

But, after seeing his play yesterday the Eagles must not be worried he’ll hit them.

I believe he has to get 8 sacks for it to be a 4
