2025 Philadelphia Eagles - ‘25 Eagles, ‘85 Bears, ‘00 Ravens, in that order. (38 Viewers)

I just watched a very thorough play breakdown of the 49ers offense from week11.
And man, as I was watching, I couldn't help but think if Shanahan had Hurts, Barkley, AJB, Smith, Goedert what is the potential?

Just absolutely fascinating diving into some of the NFL's best offensive minds. Really hope you guys find a real OC in the offseason.

we do they just always stay one year and leave

I believe in last weeks game thread one of you said that your defense reminds you of the 2000 Ravens.

Not unlike your quarterback, you guys can’t be taken seriously.
Maybe we can take Dak seriously, because it’s still November. But, unlike Dak and your team, the Eagles will be playing come playoff time. But, tell us how Jerruh is killing it. Talk about how you have a lot of 1st round picks over the next few years.

But you go on ahead and ‘not take seriously’ a QB who has been the best player on the field in 2 Super Bowls. I can’t wait to see Hurts dice up that fraudulent Defense. You guys beat the Raiders. Slow your roll.

I remember one of the guys in your team thread basically saying Jaelan Phillips was a non factor add to our roster haha

I guess we will find out this week

Nick Sirianni is a better head coach than Kyle Shanahan.

Bro, you're missing my point.
Shanahan calls the plays. Patullo calls the plays. This is why the Eagles offense looks like trash.

Patullo has no idea what he has. It's like he's dating this hot girl and doesn't know how to get her into bed.

No I get the point. Shanahan is a great play caller, Kevin Patullo is not.

Yet the Eagles have a better record with a way harder schedule. I believe the Niners have a bottom 5 easy schedule this year, yeah?

But Nick Sirianni overall is a better Head Coach. In every metric.

Nick Sirianni does not call plays = makes him a better HC
Kyle Shanahan does call plays = makes him a worse HC

I agree with you from a "team record" perspective.
I just see so much potential with the Eagles offense.
My hope is that you guys will land a good one in the offseason. I am a huge fan of dynasties that can score in bunches.

Man you ain't lying. I see tons of potential too, trust me. Would be awesome to find an experienced OC that does not have HC dreams anymore like Vic Fangio on the defensive side.

This offense as constructed has proven from 2022-2024 that it can be dynamic and it can be different things, from balanced attack to run heavy/unstoppable.

The 2 times the offense has looked bad/disjointed in the Nick Sirianni era are the 2 times we went to the Super Bowl and the OC from that team went on to become a Head Coach and we were left with using first time playcallers.

Think we would have learned our lesson last time, but the situation is the situation sometimes...

“I don’t think your defense is nearly as good as the 2000 Ravens”

“Oh yeah?!?! Dallas sucks!!”

“It’d be Crazy to see what shanahan could with your play makers!”

“Sirriani is way better!!!!!”

You all deserve everything you get in here
:lmao:
"In here" isn't the real world though, which is why Cowboys fans have such a grand ole time here defining their own version of reality.

If you think the guy that is 0 for lifetime in Super Bowls is better than the guy that is batting 1.000 in title games and .500 in Super Bowls (including 1-0 against said coach in title games), that is a choice.

Just like trading Micah Parsons, to fix the run defense, then trading FOR Quinnen Williams to fix the pass rush is a choice.

Thats the beauty of it all really. We can argue all we want, but in sports, stats and results kind of stand on their own.

if we shut down the cowboys like we have the packers/lions/chiefs i will start to think this def is comparable to the great ones. i think this is going to be a high scoring game though

Take a look at this breakdown of the 49ers offensive scheme from week11. Specifically, that Kittle TD where Purdy changed the presnap alignment.
This entire video is only 15 min. But that Kittle TD is included in there.
I haven’t seen Hurts do any of these things this year. Alignment shifts, HB routes, HB dig routes, disguise motion setup to free up AJB + Smith, shift alignment away from heavy personnel to give Barkley better running lanes. Patullo has a lonnnnnng ways to go. All I see from Patullo is vanilla. Like I said, I’m not a 49ers fan. But damn I love learning from these great offensive schemes.

I do not discount Kyle Shanahan's ability to call and design plays and an offense. He is famous for getting "anyone" at QB to be productive as well as the RB position. Its a great scheme.

The best Jalen Hurts has looked is with Shane Steichen, the guy that is working wonders with Daniel Jones this year. He was runner up for MVP that year and almost won the Super Bowl as well. I think Hurts definitely at least needs a competent OC for success at the highest level.

By your accounts, you guys have the best coach, the best GM, the best owner, the best defense, pardon me, better than that, "2000 Baltimore Ravensesque" defense, the best QB, the best OL, and the best Rec corp. in the league.

I dont see how you lose.

I never said any of those other things but thank you for emotional response. Warms the heart during this week's version a yet another team's- "Dallas Week".

Well, we don't . . . very often. 26-5 over the last two seasons. 53-16 since 2021 (including playoffs).

He was posting about Shanahan calling offensive plays with those play makers. You didn’t see that because you immediately went into protect sirriani defensive mode lol.

As far as parsons, anyone that doesn’t think Dallas is better off now than if they resigned Parsons to the huge mega deal??? I’ll just disagree and leave it at that

I know, bc before that us Eagles fans all thought we had premium playcalling going on all season long. We haven't mentioned the OC being underwhelming at all this year.

And you guys *definitely* didn't go right to criticizing the QB instead of agreeing with the rest of us that the OC is not good at all this year...

Seriously…wth are u talking about?

Above is my post earlier today in this thread. How and why did you turn this in to Dallas’ football team and their fans?

I do wish a Cowboys fan would come in here to actually talk about the game, that might be cool

You guys have the upper hand at the moment, but it’s still a divisional team against the divisional rival.

Cowboys got a lot of players back on defense last week and the 2 new additions. There should be some big improvement on that side of the ball.

As far as Micah Parson goes – I know it’s in your best interest to try and frame the narrative that it was awful to let him go, but nobody wants that dude in Dallas. Period. This is coming from one of his biggest fans. He is selfish on and off the field. A locker on distraction.

I dare say it but DJax was right about him.

As far as this particular game goes….

Your offense is hot garbage when you consider the embarrassment of riches you trot out there. Your quarterback plays like it’s 1927 but is fortunate his receivers play in this eras ruleset.

Your defense is still suspect. Your secondary is still a liability. Rod Woodson and Ray Lewis aren’t walking through that door.

You guys play to your competition this year so it should be close. Cowboys aren’t good but neither were the Giants when they beat you.

Cowboys have nothing to lose.

I dont see how you lose.
it's seriously a big mystery. i mean, the giants?!

agree with all of this (edited version) plus dallas defense is not the hot mess it was before your bye, so this game will be way more interesting than i thought it was going to be two weeks ago. giddy up! I am counting on Pickens to take a couple of his nonsense penalties to tilt it our way.

by the way, don't forget we have the bestest kicker in the league also. Jake was impressive in the typhoon-like winds on Sunday night. i heard dallas kicker is pretty good, so should be another duel to watch for.

Giants kicked our ***. It was a short week and we got.punched in the face. It happens. We should have beaten denver but let that one go in the 4th. But it turns out they are a pretty decent team. We could easily just have 1 loss. You guys are in for a reminder on just how far behind you really are. Happy holidays

As good as Dallas looked against LV, playing the Eagles will be a whole different ball game. Dallas defense looked much improved against the Raiders, but when you are ranked as one of the worst in the league there was no where to go but up. Dallas offense will have to out score Philly in a shootout to have a chance. Not sure what to expect, but division games are usually close. Even so, Dallas has a brutal schedule the rest of the way and would probably have to win out to even make the playoffs. Not likely to happen. Eagles for the most part play mistake free ball and that is huge.

Jurgens missed practice today with a concussion. If he were limited, he would have a better chance to play, but this likely means he won’t clear protocol in time to play this week.

That sucks

agree with some (certainly not all) of this. Divisional rival on the road, anything can happen. Defense isn't suspect though, it's for reallllzzz. I have no idea what to make of the offense. Hurts' efficiency metrics are very good, but the offense is still floundering a bit. Most of us think it's the OC more then the players...except that an unbiased look at tape shows it's very possible that AJB HAS indeed taken a step back this year.
Either way I expect Eagles to win another relatively low scoring fairly close game. 23-17 type score

Jurgens issued practice today with a concussion. If he were limited, he would have a better chance to play, but this likely means he won’t clear protocol in time to play this week.
That sucks

Who?

Eagles.really.good.center? Wont matter vs a lesser team like you guys though

The Eagles arent even the best franchise in their own state. Steelers, Nittany Lions, Abington Galloping Ghosts........... Eagirls.
stinky bait....like so stinky mods SHOULD call out this kind of post

I haven’t said anything inflammatory or rude. I haven’t made fun of a poster. Your guys are giving right back and Im taking it in stride.

I’m an extremely long time poster ribbing another group of extremely long time posters during “Dallas Week”. It isnt nefarious.

Cmon dude, really?

ETA - Im having a absolutely brutal week IRL so this really is bothering me more than it should. You got a good team, winning the division, appear to be improving but you cant take a little smack talk a few days before the game. Way to kill the vibe man.

Good luck this week and see the rest of you in the game thread.
