2025 Philadelphia Eagles - Don’t assume leisure leads anywhere serious; Curiosity over wasted bravado often yields success. Soft teams in NFL know. (3 Viewers)

Week 1) 9/4: vs DAL (TNF)
Week 2) 9/14: @ KC (4:25)
Week 3) 9/21: vs LAR (1:00)
Week 4) @ TB
Week 5)10/5 vs. DEN
Week 6) 10/9 at NYG (TNF)
Week 7) @ MIN
Week 8) 10/26 vs. NYG
Week 9) BYE
Week 10) 11/10 @ GB (MNF)
Week 11) 11/16 vs DET (SNF)
Week 12) @ DAL
Week 13) 11/28 vs CHI (BF, 3:00PM)
Week 14) 12/8 at LAC (MNF)
Week 15) 12/14 vs LV
Week 16) 12/20 @ WAS
Week 17) 12/28 at BUF (SNF)
Week 18) TBD vs WAS

Initial thoughts.

- Love Dallas being W1. More talented team should win.

- Love getting KC out of the way W2 after 10 days rest.

- Pretty decent teams the next few weeks vs Rams, @Tampa, then vs Denver. Would love to be 2-0 going into this stretch.

- Giants TNF is okay, then a long rest before going to Minny which is nice.

- Home vs Giants before the Bye is nice too. Need a good record heading into the bye, because the 3 games after that are brutal (@GB, vs Det, @Dal)

- Lions game is after a short week, but Lions also play in Washington the week before so are on their 2nd road game in a row so that evens it out a bit.

- At Buffalo week 17 after traveling to Washington is tough.

Overall it's pretty spread out, and given how hard our schedule is, the layout doesn't look as tough as it could have been.

I see another 14+ win season

7-1 start or better
GB/Det/Dallas might be the toughest stretch
10 days off in between Bears and going to LAC for MNF is nice
Finish LV, WAS, Buf, Was - Was was a nice story last year but I see regression this year

Thats if this is truly the real schedule haha

Schedule so far:

Week 1: DAL (Thursday)
Week 10: @GB (Monday)
Week 13: CHI (Friday)
Week 16: @WSH (Saturday)
Are Week 1 tickets usually insane? Much higher than a similar game mid season?

Week 1 games don't sell for more than any other week, but Dallas always sells for like 4x the face.

FYI. When I went into my tickets for week 1, I had a sell now offer (usually a low-ball) for $481 per ticket for week 1. Face value on my tickets are $160.

Brutal schedule. They'll win the division, but these 14 win predictions are crazy. I'm thinking 11 wins.

Trying to predict who is going to be tough and who isn't seems foolish at this point. I'm sure people thought the Cowboys and 49ers would be tough games last season and the Vikings and Broncos would be easy games. There are going to be at least 2 or 3 games on this schedule where looking at it now, you're like "tough game" and then when the game actually happens either the team has either fallen apart or they have injuries to key players. Maybe it's the Eagles who fall apart, I don't think it will be, but you never know. They've been really lucky with injuries lately, maybe this is the year it catches up with them.

Yeah this in part is why I'm bullish on the Eagles. Outside of a major QB injury, the floor to me for this team and that's with "everything going wrong" is 12 wins. Let's not forget the Eagles had their share of injuries last year to key players AJB and Devonta Smith, yet were still 2 dropped passes at the end of the 4th Q in 2 game from being 16-1. Not only do I think we know what the Eagles are/who they are, I think they are going to be BETTER than last year. You have to have a really really good team to F with us these days...

Well...devil's advocate here.

The defense is going to be a huge question mark this season.

Losing CJGJ hurts. You saw what happened last year in the Washington game when CJGJ got tossed? With CJ Washginton drive chart: Downs, Fumble, Punt, TD, Fumble, TD, Punt, Interception, Fumble. Without CJ: TD, TD, Interception, TD. Maybe Makuba can just step in at safety and the defense will be fine, but guys like McCollum, Brown and Cine, I'm not high on.

Then at CB, you lost all your depth. Adoree Jackson may be able to replace Slay, maybe. But who is replacing Rodgers and Maddox? Ricks and Ringo? Not ready to make that leap yet.

Then you lost your top sack guy in Sweat, a big piece in Williams, and a heart and soul guy in BG on the DLine, plus Dean isn't going to be playing until probably December if we're lucky. I'm looking at the edge depth, Bryce Huff, Nolan Smith, Moro Ojomo, Jalyx Hunt, Ty Robinson and Antwaun Powell-Ryland. There is a serious lack of depth on that DLine. Your top edge guy is Nolan Smith hasn't been a picture of health. Bryce Huff is a 3rd down pass rush specialist. Jihaad Campbell could be a good piece, if he can stay healthy, and that's a big if. You basically got Nolan Smith and a bunch of question marks.

Maybe they'll be fine, I trust Vic. But I have serious doubts the Eagles will be better, especially on defense.

It is nice to see the regular season schedule. No qualms from me about the toughness of the schedule. The Birds deserve a tough schedule this year, no doubt. While the professional prognosticators already have their regular season predictions out for fan consumption I will wait until closer to the start of the season to post my win/loss thoughts for '25. Although I will say that, on the surface, 11.5 wins seems to be a reasonably accurate prediction.

This off-season is all about handling/dealing with the various team changes and emerging an even better team ready to defend the their championship title. It is an ongoing process.

Wk1 vs. the Cowboys should not be chalked up as an automatic win. Folks thinking a win is a given Wk1 due to the opponent scheduled have not been paying attention to this rivalry. A Wk1 loss is fully on the table when it comes to the Girls.

Agree 100%. This is very similar to mock drafts IMO

I feel the same way. The Offense is still stacked and reloaded with some decent pieces. Barring injuries, they should control games.

I don’t expect the D to look as dominant as they did after last year’s bye. For all the reasons you listed. The schedule is rough, but you never know who’s actually gonna be good.

I have faith in Vic, and have a lot of hope that some of the young guys step up. Campbell, Mekuba, Robinson- all great picks. I’d love to see Simmons signed to a one-year deal. I’m not sold on Sydney Brown.

Schedule lays out weird on the surface but not a lot of mileage when it comes down to it.

I see 12-13 wins depending on if we sweep Washington.

We were the best defense last year in the NFL and also the youngest. Coming off a year where we finished 26th D/31st Pass D to 1st/1st and 2 total points off being the #1 scoring defense - The jumps from our year 1-2 guys and year 2-3 guys will be larger than the losses from the guys that moved on.

Doubling down on the Devil's Advocate - I disagree about the defense being a huge question mark. Did we lose guys? Sure did. All the guys we lost - CJGJ was probably the biggest, but every guy we lost - THERE IS A PLAN- and I mean, I gotta have faith in Vic to get things right, just like he did last year. CB is the toughest position to learn, had 2 rookies come in play GREAT. I think the plan with Nickel this year is to get Cooper on the field more, so in 2 WR sets, he will be the starting outside and in 3-wide, he slides to the slot and Ringo/Jackson are CB2. Vic has a great track record getting production out of safeties - Eddie Jackson and Justin Simmons is STILL out there on standby. Methinks he has a secret handshake "Batman signal" sorta deal with us if Drew Makuba isn't looking ready. Sydney Brown is NOT the guy they want so its Makuba or bust in my eyes - but you gotta figure all these guys 2nd year in Vic's system, when typically his team's Defense peaks year 3, I'm pretty confident they will be playing even fast this year - more turnovers/more sacks.

These guys we lost Sweat, BG, Williams, Slay, CJ, Isaiah Rodgers - none of these guys are stars or even super stars. Very good players for the most part, role players for some. This taps into the whole nonsense "Super Team" talk when going into last year you had

Sweat - coming off a 6.5 sack year where they forced him to take a paycut
Williams - coming off a career low .5 sacks
Slay - still playing solid, missing more and more time each season
CJ - ok this might be the true "real" loss, 6 picks in each season can't be ignored
Rodgers - nobody knew anything and it was hope he'd contribute, and he exceeded that

No one also thought Baun would be who he became, which is insane that he was literally the best LB in football last year.

Every year, every. Single. Year. The Eagles have some guy that people never heard of or have heard of but ya know they are down in their career or just need a fresh start - the come to Philadelphia and become their absolute ceiling. Baun was that guy last year along with Becton at RG.

One or more of these guys will be one of those guys this year and my money is on Azeez Ojulari. You look at his scouting profile and what he does, he is a perfect fit for Vic's defense. Josh Uche could also produce. Patrick Johnson coming back is another name we have at edge to go with who we drafted.

I'm pretty excited to see what these coaches do with this defense to be honest. Its an unknown ceiling and you have all these guys being taught the defense the right way, the first time in the NFL for the most part. I'm looking at a meteoric jump overall on defense to be honest.

I think it's a huge stretch to expect this defense to look as dominant, but they should still be a top 10 unit. The offense has a LOT of room to score more though. They were so dominant on defense that I felt like the offense just played the keep away slow it down game most of the time, and had a TON more room for production. Hurts is being criminally under-rated in many quarters just because his passing numbers weren't great....people are ignoring that the efficiency numbers WERE great.
Small step back on D, made up for small step forward on O. A couple less wins due to much tougher SOS, but anything from 11 wins and a WC berth to 15 wins and top seed is possible.

None of the guys we lost were superstars, but they were starters or good backups. Now you're replacing them with young guys who you don't know what they'll be and no safety net if they flop with higher usage and no depth. What is this line going to look like if Nolan Smith (who hasn't been a picture of health) goes down? You feel comfortable playing Bryce Huff 65% of the snaps or Ojulari (another guy who can't stay healthy) a ton of snaps. Yes, it's an unknown ceiling with the potential to have floor totally drop out from under them. I would feel so much better if the team brought in a Za'darius Smith or Von Miller to add some veteran depth.

We are still bringing guys in, rest assured. Real actualy June 1 cuts are coming. We acquired James Bradberry this way. We traded for CJ like 8 days before the 2022 season. I have faith reinforcements are coming, but at the same time, these issues exist for every team. Last year I would have said "Hell no" if I was confident needing Jalyx Hunt to be a key contributor. However, it appears are PREMIUM defensive coaching staff is up to the task of getting everyone to a high ceiling.

7 less playoff wins despite being in the NFL 27 years longer.

How dare you.

Welcome home you two 😍

Wait, this isn’t the Cowboys thread? I just assumed because it’s all you guys talk about. It’s in every single thread title.
*Spoiler Alert*

'Tis not in every thread title.

But Micah Parsons sure is chirping a lot about the matchup. He must be a closet fan, right

What did you read on blogging the boys today??

Schedule so far:

Week 1: DAL (Thursday)
Week 10: @GB (Monday)
Week 13: CHI (Friday)
Week 16: @WSH (Saturday)
Are Week 1 tickets usually insane? Much higher than a similar game mid season?

Week 1 games don't sell for more than any other week, but Dallas always sells for like 4x the face.

FYI. When I went into my tickets for week 1, I had a sell now offer (usually a low-ball) for $481 per ticket for week 1. Face value on my tickets are $160.
When do single game seats go on sale?

I think I'm going to try to come down for the Lions game

Last year they went on sale after the last payment was due in the middle of June. Assume the same this year.

I put both my preseason tickets up for sale and the first three games yesterday. Already sold both preseason games and the Denver game. I might go to the Detroit game, still debating, hate that it's Sunday night.

I was completely unaware of this statistic. I appreciate it being brought to my attention.

I suppose it means something to somebody somewhere.

Ultimately it is interesting but insignificant.

For a warmer reception, might I suggest posting this data in a space where you might find a greater quantity of like-minded folk. You know, folks like you that also might find it to be a significant stat.

I did learn something new today though. That's a plus.
