2025 Philadelphia Eagles - You spit, you go to the locker room. Sixty minutes, by yourself, you know and you feel shame. And then you play in KC. (52 Viewers)

Next 4 games

@KC less Rice and Worthy

Home v Rams - Staffford is hurting already and I honestly have zero clue the last time the Rams beat the Eagles. Pretty sure McVay has never

@Tampa - bugaboo here we never beat them and AJ Brown is never available in these games

Home v Broncos - Vic Fangio vs Sean Payton - Sean Payton wanted Vic to stay in Denver as DC and we’ll, he didn’t

This will be a fun post to come back to bc the Eagles right now are favored in every single one of these games.
That post was not worth recognizing nor the time spent to respond to it.

I’m bored.

Thinking more about the game last night - game was a 4 point game and all but man we had SO MANY close calls that just didn’t go our way

Nolan Smith was buzzing around Dak maybe .25 seconds from a strip sack

Dropped Q INT

Dropped Byron Young INT off a deflection

A few other passes that got batted around like a volleyball that was just not intercepted

Sure we got the Miles fumble

At least half the penalties seemed on the edge/questionable - Reed roughing and Nolan unsportsmanlike come to mind

I can’t think of a single “oh man/almost” moment where the Cowboys could have swung it back there direction other than Miles Sanders fumbling - which obviously was huge.

Defense had zero sacks

Field position was not good at any punt really.

W a W and all but maybe we go crazy against the Chiefs next week and start something

Xavier Worthy shoulder injury. That could change the complexion of next weeks matchup.

Let's go take down KC. Remind them who we are.
Highly doubt Worthy is going to play. KC offense looked pretty decent against an above average defense.

Was excited about having the extra rest, but forgot KC gets a mini bye too, even if they do have a long flight home.

KC Definitely going to be hungry for revenge too.

I can see it as a tough game for us, and I'd be pretty surprised if the NFL gives KC a little advantage (shocking right?) by suspending Carter.

30-27 Chiefs if Carter is out, Eagles if he plays. Either way i think it's a tight game.

It was just a good game between 2 teams that played pretty even.

That game highlighted the greatness of Hurts. All of the hype, banner raising, Carter’s ejection and the early deflation of the defense. He came out smooth and steady, not phased by any of it. He took what was given to him and didn’t allow the emotions from all of that to cause him to force anything. He kept the Eagles in the game while the shock of the Carter incident needed to wear off. Eagles fans enjoy the ride, we are in the midst of a historic run with an iconic leader that may go down in history as one of the all time greats.

7 games into their inaugural season in 1933, the Eagles record stood at 3-3-1, after an 0-3 start.

After being level for only 7 days, they would lose their next game and never get back to a .500 winning percentage over the next 92 years.

Until Thursday, when the win over Dallas brought the franchise’s record to 639-639-27.

Time to never look back. Not going below again.

The Eagles improved to .500 as a franchise with their win over the #Cowboys (639-639-27).

They haven’t had a .500 record as a franchise since 1933. Last time they were .500 as a franchise was on December 2, 1933.

The Eagles never have been over .500 in the franchise’s 93 seasons.

That's nothing. If the Phillies won every single game they played starting today, it would take them 7 years just to get to .500.

To be fare we had some stuff go in our favor with CeeDee deciding to get butter fingers

If the Eagles can hold out until October Asante Samuel JR son of former Eagle Asante Samuel could be had. Despite his size he’s perfect for the Eagles defensive scheme. Samuel is recovering from neck surgery and will have a scan in Oct to see if surgery was successful. Samuel would be a great get and would only cost $$$. Jeremy Fowler reported in June the Eagles had interest and if it wasn’t for the neck injury I think he’d have been signed already.

We’re starting our 25th league year this year and as a way to celebrate we decided to travel to a game. Ended up landing on next week’s KC game. Flying out Saturday and there until Monday. Can’t wait, I’ve heard nothing but great things about KC fans/tailgating experience from other Birds fans that have gone in the past.

@ChiefD any good BBQ recommendations?

For me I think week 1 is always whacky. Add in carter out all game and the defense really looked lost for the 1st half as their key defender was out. Little bit of cleaning up to do, and bummed my Eagles -7 never hit, but all good still

If they wanted him they should really sign him now and let him hang out on IR here while learning the playbook etc. I would like to see it, but I don’t know if they are going to get anymore help at CB2 after what they spent to grab Zadarius. I hope I’m wrong but might be how the season goes

If I’m only going to hit one place, I would go to the original Arthur Bryants.

i think there’s some sort of IR/roster rules on that but not certain. I think if they could it would’ve happened already imho.

Flying in Saturday midday and staying ar Hotel indigo downtown. Apparently very far from Arrowhead?
Power & light district which looks to be a ways away.

On the New Heights Podcast, they were talking about a big block party/tailgate in the Power & Light District. Probably shuttles going to the game regularly from there/

Power and Light is close to there. A few blocks, so you could walk there easily.

As far as getting to the stadium:

1. If you decide to rent a car, this is the easiest way. You will be able to bring your own adult beverages (if you indulge) and have a home base so to speak. You will want to get there as soon as they open the gates to the parking lot. You will want to savor the whole day, because it truly is a spectacle.

2. As far as shuttles and such, I don’t know. Public transit in KC is not great, but I imagine there will be some spots where you can grab a bus or shuttle downtown. You will have to do some research there. You can also Uber - I just don’t know the situation around the stadium for that. If you do take a shuttle I would still get there early so you can soak in it. Just know, there are no bars or restaurants close to the stadium. If your group are nice people, KC folks will absolutely take you in. If you come in hot and start talking smack about the Super Bowl you will be in for a long day. I also think there are some larger tents and such closer to the stadium that sell food and beverages.

On a side note, if you guys are any kind of baseball fans, take an Uber over to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. It’s maybe a ten minute ride from your hotel and is well worth a few hours of your time. Plus, Arthur Bryants is right around the corner from there. The perfect KC two-fer.

Awesome thanks for the intel. We’re all really looking forward to it.

Yes, I think we’re planning on hitting that.

I guess today we find out if Jalen Carter is getting a suspension.
I’ll be pretty surprised if they suspend him for another game. I think they fine him heftily and consider last week time served since he was booted before the ball was ever hiked.

It would not totally shock me if Sirriani/Eagles brass sat him for a series or a quarter. I’d be supportive of that-the kid needs to learn that he’s got to mature.

Eagles bringing in Nickel CB Mike Hilton for a work out today. If he’s signed, I think it points to them considering Coop or Mac McWilliams in a bigger role at CB2? He couldn’t make the Phins’ roster, tho, so color me unimpressed.

Also, Holy crap! The Eagles offered DAL: 2 1sts, a 3rd and a 5th “among other things” for Micah.

It means 100% that the Adoree Jackson experience is going to either look like cut bait early or what James Bradberry did the last year he was with us.

Yeah that was a solid trade offer for Micah, but Howie had to know he would have to come up with 3 1st to get him to trade w in division, which IMO, he should have offered.

Doubt Dallas would have even taken 3 firsts if it meant him going to Philly and facing them twice a year.

I do too, but he had to know 2 1st he was going to get from somewhere else.

Seems like he just wanted to see what Jerry would say more than that he want wanted him.

All good, this D is still going to be very good by EOY, just going to take some time to gel up

Yeah 3 1s. These guys don't come around often, besides Jalen Carter, who looks like one of these "possible HOF players" early in their career, who is the last D player we had like that? Dawkins right? 2 guys that are looking like HOF guys 4-6 years into their career, lucky if you draft one every 15 years.

So yeah, from my point of view, 3 1st for a guy like this would have been worth it, Howie would just find ways to get future 1s if we were to say have a dearth of them after a potential trade like this.

That's how much I believe in Howie and ya know lol to thinking about how Fangio would add him to this defense...

I wonder what the “among other things” was? Jordan Davis?

Also, agree that they’ll be much more sound by week 5-6. Vic’s D is hard to digest, and a lot of new pieces getting used to working together.

@ChiefD any good BBQ recommendations?
I went years ago so take it for what it's worth- KC fans are IMHO one of the best fan bases when visitors are in their midst. I was treated to really mild ribbing and good natured back and forth was had. They were kind enough to provide what I consider one of the best if not the best bbq ever and a few beers. If your'e not an *** and can take the teasing they will let you enjoy the game as they do. As far as bbq places go ...Lc's or Joes is high on my list. Been back a few times just not at a game. Bryants is a can't miss though @ChiefD.

Charger fan jfyi.

I've heard they're friendly to opposing fans. Might be a little different given the recency of the Super Bowl though. And I'm assuming you went when the Chargers weren't very good and KC was very good.

No not really. But yeah kind of. Natron Means et all...lol. We did get stomped tho'. In pouring rain non the less. IIRC, there was water running down the stadium steps? Never went back to a game there though I would jump at the chance if it provided itself.

Eagles signed OLB Patrick Johnson to the active roster released WR Elijah Cooks off PS and signed RB Montrell Johnson and OT Holis Pierce to PS. Johnson takes Kenyon Greens spot

3 1s? no thanks
For a one defensionale player who can’t defend the run? Yeah no thanks.
