Kayvon Thibodeaux, problem? No, the Giants have a defensive problem

missed tackle and two receptions given up in coverage last night, though he did get his first sack

reminds me of Travon Walker - the athleticism and traits don't match the expected production

Who is the best version of this lighter, faster d lineman/edge guy who plays standing up and also with his hand in the dirt? feels like teams are trying to hit on a guy with this profile but rarely works.

like deion jones in his first couple years was really good. i guess hassan reddick might count.

Bryce Young not practicing today. Seahawks looking like a good choice
I honestly don't know whether it makes them a better or a worse option. Not because I think Dalton is a better QB. But he might be less mistake-prone than a rookie in his third game, and mistakes are what you most want out of the QB facing your defense.

In any event, it was already a good matchup, so I don't know if this changes things much one way or the other. It really comes down to how much weight you put on matchup vs. defensive talent
Agree. I feel like they are hiding him from playing at Seattle.

Man I was yelling at the tv the Lions needed Nolan Smith at 18 (took (Jack Campbell.)

What a steal at 30. Feel like he could develop and has elite leadership skills once he starts getting some reps.

But you're right, seems like that unicorn gets chased after every April.

I think I'm going to stick with the Commanders this week 3 but they're playing the BIlls so a bit concerned about doing this. Seahawks (vs. Panthers) are available. Thoughts?

Lousy weather and sloppy grass might keep the score low.
I live maybe 20 miles from FedEx Field. Right now there is no noticable wind but it is wet, wet, wet. My basement flooded a bit (not uncommon, my foundation is brick and over 100 years old). Tropical Storm Ophelia has been downgraded to a Depression, but it's still tracking to be nearby at kickoff. One model has it directly hitting FedEx Field, but all the other lines have it passing South to varying degrees.

For the game, the field will be in terrible condition, that's a given. Maybe it's rainy, I'd say that's likely. Wind? I dunno. Right now that's not an issue, hopefully it'll stay that way.

Not a great week for streamers. My biggest decision is in the league where I have Buffalo. Can't imagine starting them against Miami, but they have been playing very well, plus after this week you can start them with confidence through Week 11 (after which they have @Philly/bye/@KC/Dallas/@LAC).

So my inclination is to pick up a second D for this week only. Cinci is a strong option @Tenn, especially with what they showed last night, but if I miss out on them, there are a bunch of mediocre options:
  • Houston (vs Pitt)
  • TB (@NO w/Jameis)
  • Minn (@Car)
  • LAC (vs LV)
I think I'd rank those Cinci, TB, Houston, Minn, LAC. But at some point I might just be willing to take my chances with the Bills. We did see that when Tua was faced with a strong D in NE, he didn't look like a world-beater

KC going to feast something fierce on NYJ.
Isn't that what we said about facing Chicago?
They were top 5 on the week and probably one of the highest started. Chicago runs too much but the chiefs had a really nice floor. Jets run too but the chiefs will also have a floor. I’ll take 10 pts over 2 any day
Each league is different, I would say they were barely top 10 last week.
They were number 6 in standard ESPN scoring and if they didn't put Gabbert in who threw that stupid interception, they probably would have given up at least 7 fewer points.

KCC were 9th in our DST format, and DET was the only WW D in front of them. But that was without Nick Bolton + a lot of backups seeing significant snaps.

Anyway pretty hard to find a better matchup this week.

Lions are intriguing, top ten run defense and good matchups Wk 5 (CAR) and 6 (@ TB.)

Have to decide between a banged up Balt in Cleveland or Saints hosting TB. Leaning Saints at home unless the weather in Cleveland is bad.

Chiefs did fine for me last week. Holding for this week. Might have to hold for next week vs Minny as well, as someone else snapped up Washington (vs Chicago) already for week 5.

Tampa Bay @ New Orleans - TB has played two very strong offenses and the Bears and they're still a top 10 scoring fantasy defense. They have at least 2 forced turnovers/game and are averaging 3 sacks/game. And they're facing a historic turnover machine in Jameis.

Indianapolis v Rams - 12 sacks racked up and a Rams team that looks like it's fading. It's tougher to sack Stafford because he gets rid of the ball quickly.

Bengals @ Titans - Based solely on them finally looking like they're remembering how good they can be. The Titans are a mess giving up over 4 sacks/game with 3 INTs

I'm leaning Bucs now but think any of these are a solid streaming option and very possibly available.

I went the opposite side of the Tampa/NO matchup. NO was on waivers and picked them up. I am starting them over Buffalo and the Miami train has scared me off of Buffalo

Detroit Lions film breakdown on revamped defensive blitzes and pressures

I’m not sure it will be the same scheme tonight but Detroit was basically playing a 4-4-3 on early downs with S Brian Branch functioning as a box safety (he had 11 tackles, 3 TFL.)

Next Gen Stats
The @Lions defense has pressured Jordan Love on nearly half of his dropbacks, without blitzing on a single play.

Every Packers offensive lineman has allowed at least one pressure so far tonight.

Powered by @awscloud

Aidan Hutchinson posted career-highs in pressures (8) and pressure rate (21.1%) along with 1.5 sacks tonight against the Packers.

Hutchinson has generated at least 5 QB pressures in six games since Week 14, 2022, including every game this season.
