Drafted the WASH D late for the matchup with the NYGs but now getting a little gunshy. NYGs may not be as much of a bunch of bumbling fools with Wilson at the helm.

Toying swapping out with the LAR D. At home. HOU O line still kind of a mess. And I'm doubting the three headed Chubb/Pierce/Marks will be able to run the ball well.

I would not be surprised if the NYG/WAS game could be closer than the spread with the Giants having a shot at the upset. I like the Rams matchup as I think they will be able to create pressure (and Kirk now out as well). Full disclosure however, I never seem to be right about Ds.

Same about the commanders.

I’m very close to pivoting to the Bills, who someone dropped onto my WW, even though it’s going to be an extremely tough matchup against Baltimore. May do so because their next five games are cake and they have an easy schedule rest of season.

One week’s pain for a season long hold sounds like a good plan to me.

My main talking point is the 49ers have the projected easiest schedule in the NFL. I swung and grabbed CMC, Purdy, even drafted Aiyuk to put in IR.

Now I'm thinking the D. and can drop Washington who I grabbed in haste.

I have Cards or 9ers avail so this is tough.
I have this same pair and may have to drop one for a K to fill out my lineup.

I think the concern with the 49ers is all the new starters on D, but healthy Bosa and Fred Warner is a fantastic foundation with a great DC in Saleh. I like seeing a team attack a problem in the draft with conviction, and the 49ers drafted defense with their first five picks, all in the top 113 of the draft. Believe they added two more projected starters in FA. Surely Saleh knows what he wants/needs and they gave him the resources to address it.

I don’t love week 1 against an unpredictable Seattle team. But I love the ceiling of the 49ers if those draft picks play to their pedigree and Saleh gets these guys back in a strong scheme.

Arizona has the defensive HC, has been building the D for a few years, gets a bad QB week 1 with a bad OL … and yet I can’t get it out of my head that it’s a trap. They’ve still got Kamara. Still have Shaheed. Still have Olave. Those guys can break games open.

So... about the Ravens D lol. They sure were ranked high during the draft and have some super fun pieces. However they looked god awful last night and had zero answers for Allen and co.

Is this simply a case of Allen being he GOAT and don't panic drop the Ravens, or is this a preview of what is to come this year?

People can laugh but I get the last one...
-Arizona was not a cornucopia of FF points but I had drafted Baltimore and took AZ as a 1-2 week rental where the match ups of Spencer Rattler and Bryce Young look appetizing

AZ +5
BAL -3
8 point swing and in several leagues I'm going to win by a handful of points, so while many might think AZ was not worth the start, they were a simple Week 1, decent match up
Did it work out? They didn't make a lot of noise so that i agree with but they ended up being better than some defenses you know will be much better overall for the season

And the Cards play at home this week vs Carolina, they weren't very good at JAX, still a decent start this week but I understand why folks will look elsewhere
Arizona also worked well for Survivor Week 1

Cheers!

I think I will start them again as well. They held New Orleans in check. Just didn’t get too many sacks or turnovers.

I think the New Orleans plan was to get the ball out quick and play it safe with Rattler. And that doesn’t make for much defensive fantasy points.

We still loving the Vikings DST?
Cautiously optimistic. They really kept MIN in the game last night when the offense could do absolutely nothing in the first half. That said, Caleb missed a number of throws in the 2nd half that made the MIN defense look better than they were. The opportunities for the Bears to score in the 2nd half and win that game were there.... He just missed them. My fear (as both a MIN homer and MIN D/ST owner) is that a better QB would have picked them apart last night.

But, yeah, there aren't a lot of "must-start" defenses on a weekly basis. MIN is still startable 80-90 percent of the time, just because of the nature of their scheme. They're going to blitz, get a couple/few sacks a game, etc. Mix in a turnover or two here and there, and they'll be decent. I think they are a must-start most weeks at home, and a "pick and choose" when to use them defense on the road.

Currently holding the SF D, who plays New Orleans this week. However, Arizona wasn't the slam-dunk play against NO last week in terms of producing fantasy points. And if Brock Purdy is out, may have to pivot. Eyeing my options, might drop my kicker and roster 2 defenses until the Purdy situation clears up.

If you were looking for a set-it, forget defense for the next 2-4 weeks, who would you guys feel best about from this group?

GB - WSH, @CLE, @DAL, bye

BUF - @NYJ, MIA, NO, NE

SF - @NO, ARZ, JAX, @LAR

love how the packers looked this past weekend, but getting to Daniel’s won’t be as easy as getting to Goff.

Buffalo doesn’t have the playmakers, but love those opponents and the home schedule.

Thoughts?

Today Shanny said Purdy is "a long shot" to play this week, and could have a multi-week injury. I'm concerned about SF's ability to control time of possession. Rattler wasn't as rattled as I thought he might be last week and got the ball out pretty quick. Not sure if the D can hold up being on the field more and turning that into more sacks and turnovers.

GB. Picked them up for exactly this reason.

GB in almost every league. Told myself to wait and see how they did after playing Detroit. I waited and saw.

Slim pickings this week. I Only have KC but they play home vs. PHI. Any of these more attractive?

Dallas vs. NYG
New Orleans vs. Purdy-less 49ers
Bengals vs. Jags

The Dan Quinn game management has been atrocious but idk that I’m holding anything from tonight against Daniels, as I’m seeing some say.

Packers defense seems legit insane

Pat McAfee
This Packers defense might be generational.. they’ve made the Lions and now the Commanders’ offenses look like JV operations

👀👀👀

I’ve seen enough. Packers Defense is generational.

That generational defense put up 5 points in fantasy.

The same amount Arizona scored last week that everyone moaned and groaned about.

I did watch the game and they are a really good NFL defense.

@NFLPlus
The @packers defense blitzed Jayden Daniels 12 times in Week 2, per @NextGenStats:

🧀 7 pressures (58.3%)
🧀 2 sacks
🧀 3/10 pass comp (Daniels' career low)

Eli Berkovits
The #Packers run defense through 2 games:

41 carries for 97 yards (2.3 ypc)

@PFF
Packers defense through 2 weeks:

🧀 8 sacks
🧀 3 TDs allowed

Jacob Gibbs
Just rewatched the Detroit Lions offense vs. GB

This Packers defense has a real chance to be the best in the NFL. Regularly collapsing the pocket with 3-4 rushers. Swarming to the ball. Just a scary unit.

I’m stumped right now. I’m sticking with the Steelers at home vs Darnold. The only real stinker offenses I see right now are the Phins (who could revive) & (sadly) the Saints.

If MIA dumps McDaniel though I think that team could get real messy real quick even more so than last week.
I feel like you didn't mean to quote my post here ...

Since you also didn't provide much info on your options - I'd say stick with the PITT defense here.

I’d keep an eye on Cleveland. I’ve heard on multiple podcasts how impressive that D was. Everyone is quick to write it off as the Bengals are known for a bad OL and week 1 dysfunction … but Schwartz is one helluva defensive coordinator, and they’ve got gobs of defensive talent. If they shut down Baltimore this week, wheels up.

I’ll continue rolling with SF for this week. Supposedly they also looked pretty good despite a bunch of new faces (against what probably ends up a good Seattle offense). Also think Dallas is a smash stream this week, and the Rams looked legit to my eyes, but that’s against a Texans OL that is most definitely not legit.

Godspeed, ladies and gents.

I have both SF and DAL and still not sure which to go with this week. SF vs NO should be good but with Mac Jones at QB and no Williams on the line, not sure if I like the offense to do their job in helping the defense. Dallas... the matchup looks good on paper but you never know when they play the Giants. My league scores on both points and yards allowed, and really focuses on turnovers.
